Chapter 6. Aerial battle.

A thundering roar came out of the creature, the soundwave it created is more than enough to create a shockwave that manages to reach the shuttle. Right after that the creature burst forward, charging strate toward the shuttle

[Hostile inbound.] warned the AI, the shuttle proceed to burst up barely dodging the 10 km long

creature.

[releasing antimatter bomb] announce the AI while small marble sized bombs were released from the shuttle, falling right onto the back of the creature. Due to the creature not expecting an attack on the back, it seems to not be using the crystal shield.

[target eliminated, disengaging. ] state the aI as the creature was engulfed in a multiple smaller plasma ball.

“Not yet, this creature has been shown to be able to survive antimatter explosion. There’s a chance that the creature survived the attack. ” advises the boy as he observes the purple plasma storm. Suddenly a green ray blasted out of the storm blasting the shuttle away.

[it seems that you are correct.] apologies the AI as the creature flew out of the plasma storm, the ray being blasted out of its mouth. The creature seems to survive the plasma storm, however it is still heavily damaged by this. The green scales that cover the creature seem to be completely melted off or charred black, it’s leathery wings are burning with several parts missing. Even if a large percentage of the creature is now completely gone the creature is still able to move around as if nothing has happened. Instead of a living creature with muscles that moves the limbs, the creature seems more like a puppet being moved around by some invisible forces.

“This thing is still being able to move around after all of that?” ask the boy excitedly, the body enhancement no longer able to suppress the effect of adrenaline running through his boy.

[it seems that conventional weapons are ineffective against such creatures, it highly suggests that we conduct a retreat.] advise the AI while scanning the creature that seems to completely defile the laws of physics.

“Very well.” sigh the boy. It seems that it’s a wasteful effort to fight a creature that seems to be able to move without the aid of any biological or mechanical mechanicalism. It’s better to research more about this planet first, and research about this extremely durable creature later.

[activate cloaking, ascending to orbit.] anounde the AI while the gravity field starts to bend the lights right around the shuttle, causing the ship to turn invisible. However even while invisible the creature seems to know that the shuttle is trying to escape to orbit, the creature flies up while the sensor seems to detect an energy gathering in the mount of the creature.

[Rise of energy detected, prepared for impact.]

“The energy doesn't seem to be directed toward us.” observe the boy. The head of the creature seems to not be pointing at the shuttle but straight toward the sky. Green glowing rings start to appear above the open mouth of the creature, lining the rings where glowing letters similar to the letters in the gateway. Then a beam blasted out of the creature's mouth toward the sky like a beacon, once the beacon reached the sky the energy spread out like an upside down faucet water.

[Shielding detected, shield confirmed to have disruption ability.]

“disruption ability?” ask the boy with a hint of worry in his tone.

[yes, it seems like that we’re losing connection to the main ship.] report the AI

“Does that mean that you’ll lose connection?” ask the boy.

[No, have you forgotten that as your personal AI I'm always with you?] assure the AI.

“Thank you, you have been a perfect companion for me.” The boy has a slight smile on his face he doesn't even know he has.

[While I appreciate your graduation, it appears that we have bigger problems to worry about? It seems that we are completely locked from orbit, what shall you do now?]

“Do we have anything that can pierce the shields?” ask the boy.

[we do have the anti-matter missiles, however the shields of this creature have shown to be able to survive a blast from anti-matter missiles without any damage.]

“Any weapon currently on this shuttle is unable to harm this creature’s shielding.” conclude the boy.

[correct, the weapons equipped on this shuttle are currently unfit to deal with this creature.]

“Within expectation.”

[Within expectation?] ask the surprise AI.

“Using weapons that were outdated for at least hundred of thousand years usually did not end well for the people using them.” muse the boy.

[Using such weapons are necessary.] insist on AI.

“Now so?”

[This shuttle was made for diplomatic missions, all weapons were made purely for defence purposes. Having weapons capable of obliteration systems with a single shot don’t exactly make a good impression.] explain the AI

“Good point.” sighs the boy.

[Considering that we currently can’t exit the orbit, may I suggest that we set up a temporary base on the surface until backup arrives.] advise the AI.

“Very well, we’ll explore this surface.” accept the boy.

The ship descended from the stratosphere to the troposphere of the planet, down in the troposphere the boy could see a small forest in the middle of a grassy plane. Right beside it was a small plateau just large enough to contain a few shuttles.

“There.” said the Boy pointing at the plateau. “That area is a good landing spot.”

[commence landing, please hold on to any available handels] announce the AI/

The ship came to a halt on top of the plateau, then it descended onto the plateau while the floating bits around the ships disintegrate and reformed into landing gears attached onto the bottom of the ship.

[landing successful, atmosphere: safe. None hostel threat within 50 km radius, request permission to disengage shield. ] report the AI

“Permission granted, open the door” order the boy. Like liquid, the door flows down from the side of the ship to form floating oval shapes platforms to serve as stairs. With light clinking sounds the boy’s sandals walk down to one of the platforms.

“So this is what the surface looks like.” said the boy in wonder. The weather was unnaturally perfect, the sky was light blue, sprinkled with bits of cumulus clouds. The boy walked down the stairs into the ankle height grass, the tip of the grass bruised against the back of his heels as he walked. Suddenly the sound of grass moving behind him caused him to pause, he turned around to see a humanoid shape silver colored silhouette walking toward him.

“What’s this?” ask the boy.

[As I stated before, as your personal AI I'm always with you.] claimed the AI.

“Very well, you are allowed to shadow me on this trip.” allow the boy.
