chapter 1: tomb break

hey guys, new chapter, it seems a little long so i will try not to make them soo talkish , but i am just trying to get as much details as possible. ask any and all quetions you have below, and plz tell me if you see anything wrong with the chapter, ignore small grammatical mistakes but tell me about the ones that confuse you.

I took a huge gasp of air and opened my eyes. It was pitch black I couldn't see anything and the air was somewhat musty and old, like it has been used too many times.

‘Am i still alive?’ no, it’s not possible, that shot killed me i am sure of it. Not even master’s pressure point healing could have helped me then. then why am i alive? How come my chest feels so heavy? I suddenly realized I couldn’t feel the rest of my arms or legs.

I took a deep breath in and let it go. I started focusing my awareness at the top of my head moving down, I tensed every muscle along the way and then relaxed it. this helped me get back feeling in my hands and I could slightly move my fingers now. I did the same until i reached all the way down to my feet, and my toes twitched slightly in response.

‘Oh good, I am not paralyzed.’ I thought to myself, but hmm, I don’t remember my body being this long. From the top of my head all the way to the soles of my feet it took me longer to feel my body out than it usually did. And why is my chest so heavy damn it! I start doing the same exercise again, but this time I get more feeling back in my body. I do this again and again.

Finally I can move my arm. I feel like I am on my back right now, but that does not explain why the room is so dark, and the air so heavy. I move my left hand slightly to the left and I was met with a wall. I did the same thing with my right hand, with the same result.

‘Ok, from this I can conclude I am in some closed space, but why?’ this is most certainly not the hospital. I finally move my hand above and I can feel my chest being squeezed. I momentarily froze. It was not the same hard feeling I got from my chest when I was training at the gym. No, this was…...soft. I move my hand to where my chest supposedly is and am stopped by a jelly-like feeling. I move my hands a bit, and that is when I finally get feeling in that area as well.

‘WHAT THE HELL?’ I curse silently in my mind. Wait, there is actually something that has been bothering me for a while now, even more so than my chest. I moved my left hand slowly down my body, and I froze again.

‘IT ISN’T THERE!’ I breathed in as deeply as I could and screamed.

¨AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!¨ I immediately stop, as I have in those few moments almost made my eardrums rupture. That is not the only reason. What I was expecting to come out as a manly roar of rage came out instead as a shrill, high pitched, scream: the one i knew oh so well from before, that a woman only made when terrified. (mainly of me)

‘Calm down, I can’t lose my cool here, master would be really disappointed if I d..’ I stop myself before I continue that thought because I know whatever this was, that I had already died. I am sure of it. I felt my life slipping between my hands, my mind slowly blacking out. BREATHE, I can’t think back on what has already happened. I must look ahead.

Master didn’t train me all those years to lose my wits just because…… certain parts were missing. That was really silly of me. It is not as if i had any attachments to being a man anyway, but it was just the absence of something I had been born with that terrified me. I have never been overly familiar with the opposite gender, because of training and my appearance, but I know there is really no difference between a man and a woman except their bodies. having said that I prefer women though.

That aside, I must analyze the situation I am in. I must lay out the facts. First of all, I died. Second of all, it seems I am alive again, but this time in a different body. Judging by my scream earlier, I seem to be in some sort of enclosed space.

‘argh, damn it! I shouldn’t have screamed! My ears are still ringing.’ I move both of my hands upward again, this time to check if I can find the top of my ‘coffin’, as that is what it seemed to be. I didn’t have to search long. As I am already feeling the big stone tablet that covered my coffin, I try to move it a little, thinking it is to no avail, but to my surprise it slightly shifted without me having to put too much force into it.

I then focus on pushing stone tablet off, and I did, though with allot of dust coming off of it and a loud scraping sound. I cough lightly, though I don’t feel a need to, I just did it more out of habit. I clumsily rose from the coffin, which really seems to have been one, albeit one that is made of solid stone. I look around a little bit trying to determine where I am.

I seem to be in some sort of ancient tomb where steps led up to my coffin. I am a little surprised, to say the least. The first question that came to my mind is ‘Where am I?’

It doesn’t look like any tomb I have ever seen before as my stone coffin is placed at the center of the room with steps leading up to it. Although it was dark, I can see much better now, I wonder why?

My legs were shaking slightly and I could hear every simple bone in my body cracking, probably from lack of use. Looking around, I can see that this place was not in use for a long time now. Dust was everywhere and there were spider webs in every corner of the wall. I wonder how long I was in there? It seemed this place was, perhaps, underground? No, judging from the cool air that i am feeling right now, it is not.

Despite the changes to my body, I am actually kind of grateful, as it seems I am much taller right now. Everytime I move though, I feel something brushing against my back and shoulders, and I check to see what it was.

¨HAIR!¨ I exclaimed happily, but what came out was a weak raspy feminine voice. It sounds pleasant even though it is kinda hard to understand.

‘Judging from the state of my body and voice, it seems I have been in that coffin for a long time, but why didn’t my body decay without sustenance?’ right after I have that thought, it dawns on me that I am most likely an unusual creature. Of course, the pure white hair is a big giveaway as well.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

After I finish examining my hair something draws my eyes. Right next to my coffin was a small stone chest, which does not have any key hole for a key to open. I walk over to the chest (more like wobbled over) and lightly touch it’s surface. No sooner had I done that than a dark, reddish energy came pouring out of my hand into the chest. I jumped back and fell to the ground, i felt a little drained but ignored the feeling. Then the chest just opens and nothing else happens. I slowly approach the chest, wary of more surprises, and come to a halt to see what is in it.

My mouth forms a slight o-shape at what I see, as it seems whoever built this tomb thought ahead of time for my needs. What I find inside the chest is a simple dagger with a blood-red jewel at the hilt, of a simple design. Nothing special to draw the eye except it’s sharpness and jewel. Master had trained me in all kinds of weapon forms, and I had to maintain them myself, so I knew a good quality dagger when I saw one.

Beneath the dagger, there seems to be a simple, pure, snow-white dress with tight sleeves. Seeing the dress reminds me that I am currently butt-naked, so I hurriedly grab it with my left hand and put it on. To my surprise, It fit me perfectly, which again made me think about who prepared these clothes and this dagger. I grab the dagger too, and put it on my waist. The dagger is slightly curved, giving it a menacing aura. This makes me think that it was made for slashing attacks rather than piercing attacks.

I abruptly stopped to think about what I have been doing all this time. I have been using my left hand?

‘But I am right-handed!’ if my primary hand is different in this body, what else is different?

no matter where I am, I am sure that I will need to defend myself. I look back at the stone tablet laying beside my coffin and I am still surprised at how this frail looking body of mine could have actually managed to throw that off. Does that mean that I am either insanely strong, or that the tablet was light? I have to check up on that. I walk slowly over to the tablet and tense my back and arm muscles. I then grab the tablet and pick it up. I almost fall back over because of how light it seemed to me.

‘Now I have to verify it’s weight.’ I let it fall on the ground, and judging by the sound of the impact, it is extremely heavy!

‘This is just too abnormal, how can my body be this strong?’ I think to myself, but no need to fret about a good thing so I go over to the next item on my list. Muscle memory.

I spread my feet and take a basic stance. I placed my right foot in front and moved my left foot back, placing my weight on it. I bring my right arm to the front in a guarded position and draw my left arm back. I swing my hips and bring my left hand forward and my right arm back, and repeat.

‘As I thought, it feels weird and uncomfortable doing it in this body, not to mention the weight of my chest swaying after I punch makes it hard to balance myself’ Damn it! This is troublesome. I dont know if my strength is the norm around here. If it is, then my martial arts are the only thing that can give me an edge. I need to train this body, correction MY body, so that I can react in emergencies without having to think hard about every step. Having said that, I make a resolution to go through the different katas every morning, starting from the bottom. (A/N see what i am doing there with the new year resolution lol) If my strength really is special to my race, then martial arts can only further enhance that advantage.

But strength aside, my body is extremely light, albeit a little stiff and rigid. Nothing a little stretching can’t fix, so I can assume my agility and dodging is even more superior now then it was in my old body. Even though I was world champion of the W.K.F on earth, it was not because of my speed, but rather my strength. My reach was much shorter and I was a lot slower than most of my opponents, but it seems that this body has both of those weaknesses covered.

I have to stretch out my body as I am still very rigid from my ‘hibernation’. Stretching my arms and legs, I feel my muscles starting to warm up again. I then proceed to try and do some basic exercises, starting with push-ups, which I find extremely easy. My hair keeps falling down on my face, and I kind of find it irritating, so I try my hand at a simple braid, which looks really messy, but I am not that much of a girl to care.

‘Lets move on to the third it…’ just as I was about to finish that thought, I heard a bestial roar echoing through the tomb. It was very faint but I heard it clearly nonetheless. I walk out through the only door in the room and went into a straight corridor that led outside. Once I was out of the door I took the freshest breath of air i’ve had since this whole situation started and my eyesight is met with a white landscape. I am, or rather the tomb, is located on the side of a mountain. Located at the foot of the mountain, the tomb looks like some greek temple with marble columns lined up outside.

I look around trying to see where the sound came from when I finally see it. The whole situation turns out to be an abnormal one for me for three reasons. The first reason being that there was a humanoid over 2.5 metres in height, covered in muscles and white fur with blazing red eyes. In other words it is a yeti. The second reason was how far away I saw it from. It was very far away, and it didn't seem to notice me.The third reason is that I could hear it better than I could see it. I can hear it’s breath. I put my hands over to my ears and I double-check just to make sure my ears were undamaged. My ears were long and pointy. Wait, long silver hair, snow-white skin, and pointy ears? I am an…...

‘ELF?’
