After Lyria rests, she then steps back into the training hall to have Head wizard Maldris test her combat prowess in magic. The two first setup defensive spells to make sure they can go all out while having no casualties.
“Are you ready?” Head wizard Maldris asked calmly, as he took his stance while holding his arcane focus, a staff.
“Bring it!” Lyria said, full of energy after resting from the previous fight, much more confident of her combat prowess when it comes to magic. She also took her stance while holding her own arcane focus, a wand.
As soon as Captain Seraphia gave the signal to start. Lyria immediately Haste on herself which speeds up her movement allowing her to move quickly, while she then uses eldritch blast to attack, Firing two beams from her hands targeting the head wizard. Maldris in turn used the spell fly to dodge the two beams aiming for him by flying up, as he then cast a Counterspell to nullify Lyria’s Haste spell causing her to return back to her normal speed..
The spectating guards cheered to the explosive start of the fight, the casters are amazed at the speed that they’re casting intermediate tier spells. Lyria then casts Counterspell which manages to successfully nullify Maldris’ fly spell, causing him to plunge. Maldris then casts feather fall which lets him land without any damage by slowing his fall. Lyria taking the opportunity given by Maldris’ focusing his attention on slowing his fall, Lyria cast a powerful spell, banishment, which would banish Maldris to Lyria’s chosen location, while she then cast a spell in secret, hiding it behind the magic particles of the spell banishment.
Though the spell banishment manages to hit Maldris, his will is strong enough to resist the spell, making the spell useless. Counter attacking Maldris then casts fireball, conjuring a giant ball of flame, launching it towards Lyria. Almost hitting Lyria, though thanks to lyria’s quick reaction she manages to cast misty step which lets her teleport just before the fireball lands, she then teleports behind Maldris and immediately casts the spell shatter.
Powerful sound waves radiated from Lyria’s index finger. But just as the sound wave was about to hit, Maldris manages to Counterspell it which nullifies the spell and not launch him, but thanks to that Lyria can then activate the spell Hellish rebuke which is the spell that she cast while hiding behind the magical particles of the banishment spell, it can only be used when one of lyria’s spells is nullified. Thanks to that, Lyria manages to damage Maldris. By engulfing him in flames. After which both caster jumps back to increase the distance between them.
“Very amazing, excellent strategy… Your hellish rebuke is ingenious, hiding it behind another powerful spell which not only hides it when cast, its magical disturbance is also masked by the more powerful spell, very amazing… Though you didn’t manage to defeat me, your strategy is enough for me to pass you.” Head wizard Maldris praises Lyria for managing to fool him with the Hellish rebuke spell.
“Alright! Are you ready for your turn, hero?” Captain Seraphia asked Dragbaki. As she heads to inside the training hall.
“Couldn’t be more prepared!” Dragbaki follows captain Seraphia in the training hall. Eager to test his skills after seeing Lyria fought.
As soon as the two head inside the training hall, the spectators begin to cheer, Talks of who would win and would Dragbaki the hero be able to defeat their captain. Few guards also placed bets on whether Dragbaki would be able to injure their captain or would their captain one-sidedly dominate the fight. Captain Seraphia chooses her trusty longsword to wield in the fight, while Dragbaki takes his time choosing.
“So which weapon/s are you choosing?” Captain Seraphia asks Dragbaki, curious of the weapon he’s going to choose.
“This is about right…hmm the weight and feels are just about right too” Dragbaki said as he picked up 2 short swords. Which surprises a lot of people thinking he would pick a longsword also.
“Say, hero. Why don’t we truly test your limits?” Captain Seraphia said, eager to battle the hero, “No holding back, we can have Maldris cast a mage armor for both of us so we can go all out?” Captain Seraphia continues.
Curious of what the hero would reply, everyone eagerly awaits his response. But his response shocks everyone not expecting the unfolding events to happen.

“Sure… Why not, it has been a while since I've last gone all out in a fight…” Dragbaki responds.
His usual easy going demeanor nowhere to be found, only the cold face of a battle hardened warrior. Everyone is shocked to see this side of Dragbaki, Captain Seraphia included not expecting this response. But then she smiled, more eager than ever to battle Dragbaki.
“Haha, alright…Let’s get serious” Captain Seraphia grins as she hype herself for the fight.
As the two prepare to fight, Head wizard Maldris casts a high level mage armor on the two combatants. After the two finished their preparation Head wizard Maldris gave the signal to start. dragbaki immediately rushes towards Seraphia, which prompted the captain to do a sweeping attack which is to her surprise, Dragbaki just block the attack with one of the blade while thrusting with the other. To which Seraphia dodges by jumping back to reposition herself, after which Dragbaki again closes in but this time unleashing a flurry of attacks, though managing to parry some of the attacks there's still some getting through. Though attacks are getting through it takes a lot of stamina to continue such a kind of attack. Realizing the uselessness of the attack, Dragbaki retreats back.
Seeing dragbaki retreats, Seraphia thrusts her longsword towards Dragbaki using its length to her advantage. Dragbaki manages to dodge by stepping into the side and capturing the attack with his dual swords after which he deflected Seraphia's longsword and lunges forward. Seraphia expecting a frontal attack readies herself to block her front but to her and the spectators surprise, Dragbaki's frontal attack is actually a feint and then changes the direction of his attack by spinning and using his other sword, which caught the shocked Seraphia by surprise and was unable to defend against the attack. The attack was strong enough to break the mage armor casted by head wizard Maldris. After which Seraphia retreated and increase the distance between them. Seraphia seeing that Dragbaki isn't following her concluded that the attack might had consumed a large amount of his stamina.
Seeing an opportunity for a counter attack, Seraphia launches a fierce series of attacks which causes Dragbaki to be on the defensive. As Dragbaki is pushed back further, Dragbaki then use his fighter class ability, second wind. Which regenerates some of Dragbaki's stamina which allows him to break free and stop the attacks. After which he readied himself for one last final attack with all his stamina remaining. Seeing Dragbaki prepare for a final attack, Seraphia also readied herself to block the attack.
Then Dragbaki lunges forward and to everyone's surprise again, throws his sword towards Seraphia who dodges the sword, surprised by such an attack her eyes follows the sword, which distracted her enough to let Dragbaki close but as dragbaki attacks, Seraphia's soldier instinct, move her sword to block the attack of Dragbaki and cause her to come to her sense she quickly counter attack which sent Dragbaki flying. After which the fight ended in Seraphia's victory. Lyria then rushes to support Dragbaki who's barely standing by using his sword as support, while captain Seraphia sits on the floor. After the shock wore off, the entire training hall erupted with cheers with the guards amazed at the fight that just concluded.
After the fight concluded Dragbaki collapses from exhaustion while leaning on Lyria's shoulder… letting dragbaki rest, the temple guard have gone to have their lunch. Lyria stayed behind to wait for Dragbaki to wake up… after a while Dragbaki is now back to full energy and had gone to the dinning hall to take their lunch, the temple guards they meet along the way greets them and told them how amazing their fights were. Entering the dinning hall the temple guards cheered as the two entered the hall.
As they sat at a table, a few temple guards also changed their tables to sit on the duo's table. As the duo take their lunch, they have fun discussing their battles earlier with some of the temple guards offering pointers to Lyria on using a spear, while a few casters curious on how Lyria casted 2 spells at the same time. While the temple guards ask dragbaki on pointers in melee combat. After the group had their lunch they all went back to the training hall for Dragbaki's magic test, all were excited to see how dragbaki would fare against the head wizard.
"So, are you ready?" Head wizard Maldris asks Dragbaki, as he then took his and again held his staff in front of him.
"Ready as I'll ever be… So, all out again?" Dragbaki asks the head wizard as he eagerly smile.
"Sure why not, there's haven't been an opponent before that I've been able to go all out with" Head wizard maldris said in response.
Dragbaki then took his stance opposite of the head wizard. He then took out his arcane focus from his bag of holding, a beautiful short sword with a magnificent ruby embedded in it.
The sword surprises everyone, even Lyria as they haven't been in a fight before that would need them to bring out their arcane focus.
"Am I allowed to use my arcane focus? Or should I change it?" Dragbaki asks The head wizard, unsure if his arcane focus is allowed.
"It's fine, you can use your sword. Though I want to talk to you about it later." Head wizard Maldris permits the sword to be use.
"So we go until the mage armor breaks or until 1 hour?" Dragbaki confirming the rules.
" Oh yes, though I really haven't set a rule but pretty much, yes" Head wizard Maldris confirms the rules.
After the duo casts their mage armor spell, Captain Seraphia then gave the signal to start. Similarly to the battle of Dragbaki and captain seraphia, Dragbaki is quick to attack immediately using his metamagic to cast fly and prepare a Counterspell. Maldris then casts a Domination spell to quickly end the fight but thanks to Dragbaki's quick reaction he manages to cast the Counterspell he prepared to nullify , he manages to avoid getting dominated. After which dragbaki then casts the spell Wall of fire, conjuring a wall 1 foot thick covering the entire middle of the hall, using the wall of fire to his advantage, he then prepared the spell ice storm and after the wall of fire disperse, the casts the spell which makes it hard for Dragbaki to stay in the air causing him to land to avoid getting hit by the ice.
Dragbaki then stopped his concentration on the flight spell to then cast gaseous form to which Maldris responded by casting great invisibility. After which Dragbaki casted a 4th level cloud of daggers. But just before the daggers hit Maldris casted dispel magic on Dragbaki to which Dragbaki responded in kind. After both spells hits, all magic casted by both combatants have been dispelled. As the dispel magic spells collided, a brilliant flash enveloped the battlefield. When the light faded, Dragbaki and Maldris stood in the center, their grins of mutual respect mirroring one another. The thrill of their intense magical exchange coursed through them, leaving the spectators in stunned silence, awed by the display of high-level spells that had unfolded before their eyes. After a short while Dragbaki and Maldris began their attacks again, more excited to go all out.
