She loves running. It was something that came from the wolf because the Speaker didn’t remember having this feeling when she was just a human. Ever becoming a Werewolf however, the Speaker loves to run. She loves running in the Great Kar Forest and it was no different in The Burning Fields. The surroundings were different, ash and fires instead of giant tall trees, but the feel of the wind on her fur was still intoxicating. The fact that she was now on a mission just added to the excitement.
When the Red Creator told the demons to be ready for battle, it was decided that the Werewolves would leave and report the matter to the Creator. The Red Creator gave some excuse about storing up for the battle but the Speaker suspect it was just trying to get the Werewolves away from the battlefield. She didn’t argue though; she was glad of the mission. It had already been decided that the Werewolves would be leaving so leaving early was no problem for the Speaker. In fact, it was welcomed. There was someone she wanted to see. In the distance, the Speaker could see the edge of the Great Kar Forest. They were almost home and in her mind, the Speaker began running various scenarios on how to make up with the Alpha. Treznor would no doubt still be furious with her for running off without him and...a drop-off in speed snapped the Speaker out of her musing.
Kinshra was at the head of the pack and following her, the pack of six slowed. The female alpha was looking the left of the group and the Speaker followed the female alpha’s lead. She was a group of human currently in battle against three Spider Demons and the battle was not going well for the demons. The three demons were heavily outnumbered but were trying to hold their own by turning the battlefield to their advantage. The Speaker could see a sea of webbing on the ground and could guess that the Spider Demons were trying to use their Web abilities to defend against the numerically superior humans. It was not working. The Speaker could see two Spider Demons dead on the ground.
The Werewolves could have just run on. This battle had nothing to do with them but the Speaker wasn’t surprised when Kinshra began turning. The Werewolves never shy away from battle and the demons needed help. Soon they were running towards the battle. The humans spotted the pack almost immediately and one of the humans began shouting orders. A small group of the humans broke off and arrayed themselves to face the coming threat. As the Werewolves got closer, the Speaker could see several of the human hunters getting ready with their bows and arrows. Kinshra saw them too and their run began a sprint. The increase in speed had the hunters releasing their arrows in response. One of the hunters had a skill that turned his arrow into a beam of light. The Speaker heard a zap as the beam of light went past her. She then heard the sound of it hitting one of the Werewolves behind her but she didn’t dare stop to look. She charged on ahead. The humans managed to release another wave of arrows and this time two of the Werewolves were hit. Then the human warriors formed up in front of the hunters with a wall of shields.

Kinshra was at the front of the pack and was the first to reach the humans. Just before contact, the female alpha disappeared. She immediately reappeared at the back of the human line and attacked. Kinshra had used her ‘Shadowstep’ ability to get behind and immediately turned to attack the human hunters from the back. The warriors turned to see the danger from behind and this momentary confusion was enough for the Werewolves as the Speaker and the sole reminding member of the pack clashed into the humans. The line of warriors was pushed back but it quickly recovered. The warriors held the shield wall against the Werewolves’ claws, focusing on nothing but defense. Tried as they must, the two Werewolves were unable to make any headway against the warriors. The Speaker glanced at the back and saw that the isolated Kinshra was also having a hard time against the humans. Worse yet was the fact that the humans facing the Spider demons were now attacking in force. The commander of this group of humans knew what he was doing. He was trying to take out the demons quickly before turning his full force against the Werewolves. This battle was not going well.
Then she heard a howl. The fierce howl of a male wolf and the Speaker’s heart skipped a beat. She recognized the howl. The howl stopped the humans for a moment and the Speaker took the opportunity to look in the direction of the howl. As she thought, Treznor was there. The Alpha was rushing to her aid with five other Werewolves and…one of the strangest creatures she had ever seen was with him.
The creature was a green spherical-shaped…thing that had a giant eyeball. The Speaker could see that the creature had a mouth, 2 long arms and four antennas on top of it’s head. However what caught her eye was the movement of the creature. The green creature wasn’t flying or running but bouncing! The creature was bouncing like a ball and despite it’s strange method of movement, it was managing to keep up with the Werewolves! However that wasn’t the strangest thing; there was a small furry creature with the head of a fox actually sitting on top of the bouncing green creature. Holding to two of the antennas like the reins of a horse, the fox-like creature was riding the green creature like some sort of bouncing ball! She looked to be laughing and the big smile on the face of the green bouncing creature was unmistaken. Looking at the strange duo, the Speaker can’t help but mumbled the most inappropriate word one can say during a life-and-death situation.
“Cute!”
