Chapter 11-The Guests from the Dusk Kingdom

Green Kingdom Capital, Eslanwood City.

Two youth was currently walking on the road. One wears a casual long violet sleeve with a bird pattern on its hem paired with black pants and black boots. He has red hair and brown eyes. The youth was handsome, and his face was wearing a gentle smile. The other one was wearing white sleeves with a black top, gray pants, and black boots. The man has violet hair and eyes.

The second youth also has a handsome countenance. But contrary to the other young man, he has a cold aura around him, and no smile can be traced from his face.

The two attracted most of the pedestrian's attention, especially the ladies who blushed upon seeing them.

The first youth whistle and turn to the second youth beside him.

"Haven't I told you, this Green Kingdom is an interesting place? Look at those beautiful ladies," he flashed his smile to every lady that they encountered, who in return slightly blushed before bowing their heads.

The second youth ignored him and continued to walk.

"I did not come here to enjoy. I came here for the sole purpose of visiting the Duke of Green. Royal Father wanted me to deliver his invitation to his old friend personally."

"Ayoo..your still so stiff. Yes..yes, I understand Prince Drake."

Indeed the second youth was the current crown prince of the Prince of Dusk, while the first youth was the current heir of the Marquis of Dusk, Young Lord Roland Edwards.

"Oh.. and I can also feel a lot of Mages in some areas," Roland commented.

Mages were respected even among the royalties and nobles. Every kingdom in the continent has its own respective Magic academy where royalties, nobles, and even ordinary citizens can be accepted so long as they have talents. Both of them can be considered higher ranking Mages. Royalties and nobles have to attend the magic academy as well.

Suddenly, there was a lady who stepped out from the right side of the road. She was wearing a blue muslin veil that covered her whole face except for her blue eyes. She also wore a light blue dress with wide sleeves. Walking beside her was a little girl that looked like a toddler around two to three years old. She has an adorable face yet has a calm expression.

Both of them were heading in their direction. Roland wanted to flash his killer smile, yet for some reason, he couldn't.

She walks past them without sparing a glance.

"Woah.. another beauty," Roland exclaimed.

"How did you know? She was wearing a veil, is she not.?" Drake responded with a flat tone showing his indifference.

"That's why I'm telling you that you have to at least go out with me to experience beauties. I can tell with one glance if a lady is beautiful or not." he grinned.

"No thanks." Drake rejected him.

Louise stopped in an isolated place. Then, when she felt no ounce of mana around, she signaled at Heron, who transformed herself into a bird and landed on her shoulder.

"Those two...I can't believe that I will run into the highest-ranking Mages in this kingdom." she thought.

Sigh.

"Who cares? It's not like I will meet them again."

She steps forward and vanishes into thin air.

East Wing. Duke's residence.

Duke Gerald was currently at his receiving area and chatting happily at the two youth across him. Of course, the two youth are the delegates from the Kingdom of Dusk, Prince Drake Crype and the Young Lord Ronald Edwards.

The Duke also invited his two wives and his son.

"My apologies for not being able to provide you an excellent receiving Prince Drake. "

The Prince smiled at the Duke.

"No worries, Duke Gerald. We are the ones who should be seeking an apology for this sudden visit, and we are also traveling incognito."

Gerald waves his hand, "How can I blame my old friend when I was the one who almost forgot his birthday. If it's not for you, I may not remember due to many important matters that I need to attend to."

"That reminds me, I heard that you entered the Mystical Forest for your second daughter, and you successfully returned." Roland queried with some curiosity.

"Oh, that? I just got lucky, that is all." Gerald casually answered.

"Is it true that the cursed forest is terrifying?"

Duke Gerald smiled and responded, "If you are not a higher ranking mage, then I would advise you not to go unless you have enough preparation. The creatures inside can send you to the afterlife without you knowing."

"That gives me a goosebump," Roland acted as if he did and smiled, "Though I heard that you weren't able to get the cure, that's really unfortunate."

The Duke shrugged, "The Arcan plant is something rare. I'm not even sure if that is indeed the cure."

When Garcy heard this, her face lightly stiffened, but she still maintained her faint smile.

Prince Drake took something from his inner pocket and handed it over to Gerald. It was the royal invitation.

"You are an important friend of my Royal father, and he is expecting your presence on his special day. I hope that you can grant his request."

"It would be rude for me not to go, considering that the crown prince personally handed me this invitation. Tell my old friend that he can rest assured."

One of the servants suddenly announces the arrival of the Duke's first daughter, Anishina. The Duke nodded and had her join them.

Upon entering the receiving area, Anishina immediately notices the two youth who sat across from her family. She saw her mother looking at her as if giving her a signal on something. She smiled and nodded. Then Anishina greeted her father and looked at the two handsome youth.

The Duke spoke and introduced her daughter to them.

"This is my second-born and my first daughter Anishina."

Anishina raised her skirt slightly and bowed to them. She looked at the youth introduced to her as the crown prince of the Kingdom of the Dusk. She can't help herself but blush. She then sat beside her mother.

The Prince then spoke.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Duke Gerald."

The Duke slightly smiled.

"Ah, I almost forgot. Unfortunately, I have to seek your apologies in advance since not all of our family members can attend the banquet."

The Prince waited for him to continue.

"As you know, my second daughter is currently ill; as such, she will not be able to attend, and my first wife needs to tend to her."

The Prince nodded, showing that he understood.

"Also.." the Duke continued, "My adopted daughter will not be able to go as well. She has matters of her own to attend to, so I'm afraid.."

The two youths look at the Duke as if inquiring about the matter. Prince Drake understood that the Duke's family consisted of his two wives, his son, and two daughters, but he never heard of his adopted daughter.

"I recently had her entered my household and had her as my official adopted daughter, so I guess the prince was not well aware of it yet."

He continued to explain.

"She is quite a 'cough'.., special, so she doesn't like to meet with other people, and I'm the only one who can visit her."

The Young Lord Ronald raised his brow and smiled.

"Oh, so you got an eccentric daughter, hehe... That's a pity that we can't meet her, though."

"That's unfortunate." answered the Duke.

Both the faces of Lady Anishina and Madam Garcy darkened. What the heck? She wanted to have either of the two notice her daughter, but she was seemingly transparent to both of them. She quietly clenches her fist and curses Sylvy and that faceless bitch at the West Wing.

After some idle chatter, the visitors left the Duke's household. All the family members then retired to their respected residency.
