The punishment

The punishment

It's been a week since our trip for sweets. You may ask what happened few days after...

My mother did found out. Despite forbidding it, big sis let me eat sweets.

I'm still not sure how though. I wonder if it was some kind of extra sense when it comes to her daughter or not.

As of now, I have been reflecting on using those underhanded sobbing tacticts.

After I came home from Ephi's place, my mother was sitting next to grandpa waiting for me. You don't want to see those evil smiles that they had. I also failed to escape.

My punishment was not a big one. As you can see, it was one year of grandpa's private training, that's starting from today.

After asking one of the island guards, I found out why was my grandma always there, when grandpa tried to train me. Thanks to her, grandpa got restained and couldn't actually force me to train close combat. That will probably change today.

Against my expectations, grandpa started with a lecture about differences between dragons as well as differences between other races. This may have been grandma's doing.

After just two days, I learned several things.

Some dragon bodies are more suited just for magic, while others for close combat. It all depends on their race type.

This island is home for Elder Dragons that are strong with both. Weaker types like Lesser Dragons are better with only one of them.

I even learned my full species name. It's 'Baby Elder Dragon', not that I have plans to actually call myself that way.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

For Elder Dragons, their descendants have 2 variants of fixed aptitudes that always depends on their bloodline, while they also have innate strength in close combat.

As for me, despite being Silverscale, I can use wind and life magic. There's a small chance to have more than one aptitude like me, that is like winning a jackpot.

Silverscale family aptitudes are earth or wind, while someone from Goldenscale family can only awaken earth or fire aptitudes.

Still, rules of aptitude awakening are simply weird...

The actual difference in power between normal and noble bloodline is also considered to be big. Because of this, as long as you aren't some kind of magic genius with two aptitudes like Grandma, your chances of beating a noble are almost non-existent. Not that someone would actually try. Again, with the exception of grandma...

Other races can have their aptitudes either fixed or power of their aptitudes is weak.

Because of this, most of the races have their prefered roles.

Best example for this are elfs. With their slender bodies, weak muscles and strong aptitude for wind magic, they are perfect for supporting others. If they were to fight in close combat, they would probably lose their lifes.

Other minor races can even use rare aptitudes. Good example are fairies. But despite having life magic, their race is weak and can be easily killed.

Most of them are living in hidden villages that can be only found by their own race. I really wanted to see one... *sniff*

Then there are races like humans, that can't bring up the full power of their aptitude, so they are forced to specialize in combat with weapons and lesser magic.

They fight using swords and arrows while using weak magic.

They are also the reason why I must train sword skills in human form! Ahhh!

I may learn a few things from this punishment.

All that I hope is, that there won't be any need for other punishments. At least not while I'm focused on this one. As for my peaceful days, there are about to end.

I already learned one thing. Mother with her evil smile is scary!
