The festival is here and I'm grounded!

Today, the festival starts.

Sitting on the bed, while still grounded by mother, I could hear the laughs and cheers from outside.

"Mom!" I couldn't wait any longer, so I shouted towards the room door.

"What's wrong Tama?" opening the door from outside, she asked me if something was wrong. The gift I gave her eased the punishment, but I still got grounded.

"Uhm... Mom, why can't I go out?" I asked her.

"You know full well why" she smiled at me, while still implying that my punishment won't change.

"It's not fair!" I tried to throw a tantrum.

"Human kids can go out and play!" trying to persuade her.

"Human kids don't beat up thugs and scare them to the point they fade" she said so with her dark smile reflecting on her human face.

After I came back from my market stroll, I was forced to tell her everything.

I should have hidden the fact, that I got attacked by those thugs though...

"But they were the ones that started it!" I really wanted to see the festival up close, so I tried to make excuses.

"That's true, but you left without getting a permission" she had a point. While I might look like a 10 year old girl, I'm still a young dragon. If anything happened during that time, she wouldn't know where I was.

"B-but I really wanted to see the city" *sniff* *sniff*

Trying to soft her heart to forgive me, I started lightly sobbing. It was super efective!

"Tama! I will take you somewhere" seeing me like that, she ran up close and tried to cheer me up. I did used my most efective weapon after all.

"Just don't cry" she said so, as she hugged me.

I'm sorry for those who are weak to my sobbing. It's just that, it's the most effective way to persuade someone.

After few minutes of hugging, she gave me a head pat and spoke "It was mainly my fault for being late" while her expression softened.

I did disagree with her though. It was my fault for going out without her. That moment, I wanted to apologize for worrying her.

"Mom, since you were late...where have you been?" instead, I asked one question that came to my mind.

"Fufufu...At the Hunter's Guild!" she answered with a small laugh.

"You see, I'm registered Hunter and I went to register you too" she said so proudly.

Huh? Did she just say Hunter's Guild? This kind of fantasy organization exists here too?

More than that, she registered me as Hunter!? Mother, what were you thinking!

Seeing me dumbfounded, as if she read my mind she continued.

"I did it, so we can accept quests together...only me and my little daughter~!" she said so while holding her hands on her cheeks. So this was your main reason...

"B-but aren't I only 4 in dragon years?" I asked.

"Don't worry, since your human form looks like 10, I registered you as such" she quickly answered.

But mother, that's cheating!

Well, she is technically registered as human while being more than 600 years old...

As I was about to voice my objection, the thought of going outside to hunt monster came to mind. I might as well use this to improve my human form!

Having no reason to complain, I said so.

"I will be hunting with mother? Yaaay~!" I smiled. Seeing her satisfied, I changed the conversation.

"But, uhm... Can I go now and see the festival before we do that?" I asked, while trying to get her permission to see the festival.

"I guess it can't be helped" with a sigh and a smile, she took my hand as we walked out of the room.

Festival sweets, here I come!
