Prologue part 2: the afterlife of Hell

Prologue part 2: the afterlife of Hell

I was no where but everywhere all at the same time. I couldn't feel my body. I couldn't speak, smell, or feel. This place was dark gray with a void like area. Then, I suddenly found myself sitting in a . . . court room?

I looked around at the seats. My dad had been in a court room multiple times for drinking and driving, assault, and even theft. Now that I think about it . . . how did he manage to keep custody over us after all of those charges?

anyway, the seat I was in was where the guilty person sat. Behind me was where people who were on my side were supposed to be. But the entire area was empty except for a single ball of light, sitting at the very back.

on the opposite side of the court room, an angel looking person sat in a seat with a briefcase. Behind the angel, an entire row was filled with glowing balls of light.

The jury area was filled with angels who looked like they were reading something. The judge place had a large angel with a light green robe.

Then the green angel picked up a piece of paper and said, "Today, this court has chosen this young soul, Eric, for us to decide how he shall move on from his life. His charges are "suicide, lying, and . . . Three cheese burgers? Alright, who wrote down their lunch order on the list of charges?"

I laughed hard. The judge looked at me and said, "Silence! You do not speak or make noise unless asked too. Do you know where you are?!"

I said, "No. What is this place?"

The judge said, "This is the court of eternal. We decide the fate of the few souls we deem should have justice, or punishment, or another chance. Now, on with the trial."

The angel in one of the seats stood up and said, "Due to Eric committing suicide, he only has three of the four choices that are available. He can either, go to Hell, become a servant of the Eternal, or become reincarnated."

The angels in the room all spoke in once with whispers floating through the room. Eric processed the choices. He didn't like any of them.

He was going to say something, but then the judge said, "Remember, these choices are only temporary until we here from one of Eric's family. Thankfully, we have one here with us. Mrs. Yangsten, please come up to the stand.

The ball of light on my side floated up to the stand and then formed into the shape of a person.

I was speechless. "Mom . . ."

My mom was here. I hadn't seen her for months. I was so happy. But her face didn't look to be happy.

The judge looked at my mom and said, "Mrs. Yangsten, what do you have to say about your son, Eric?"

My mom looked at the crowd and said, "My son has had a life well lived. He was a sweet, young man with hope deep within his heart. It broke my heart to find out that he saw what happened to me. He didn't tell anyone, even the police. I was sorry that you had to see that, Eric. But the fact that you didn't tell the police makes you as bad as your father."

My heart dropped. If only she knew why I didn't.

The angel from before stood up and said, "As you have heard, this soul has been deemed guilty by both the jury, and the only family that is for him."

The judge sat up and said, "Not so fast, Raken. The jury hasn't decided on anything yet. Besides, Eric has to tell his part of the story."

The judge snapped his fingers and then I was suddenly in the seat for witnesses and stuff.

The judge looked at me and said, "Go ahead, Eric. Share your story."

I had a bad feeling about this. I just told them what happened and how I shot myself. Then I said, "I dan't want to do any of those three option. Send me to hell, NOW!"

The jury wrote down stuff on paper and then a person brought all the papers to the judge. The judge looked through all the papers before saying, "The jury's decision has been made. The Jury finds Eric Yangsten . . . guilty with all charges, along with being incompetent."

Eric's heart sank. He looked down at the chair.

The judge said, "The jury now must leave the court room and decide among themselves what the fair of Eric shall be. For now, we shall all just wait."

With that, the jury left the room. Everyone else began leaving. My mom came up to me and said, "Eric, I had no idea what you were going through once I died. I just hope you don't become a servant like me. It's the worst."

I let out a slight laugh. Then I realized that she really cared about me.

a few minutes later, only the judge, my mom, and that angel were left in the room. The jury came back with a piece of paper and handed it to the judge. The judge looked over the paper and nodded at the jury.

The judge looked at me and said, "Eric Yangsten, the jury has found you guilty with all charges and has decided your fate shall be . . . reincarnation into your what your afraid of the most. Your ego has gotten you into the worst scenario."

The jury left along with everyone else but the judge.

The judge looked at Eric and said, "I shall make it to where your terrified of everything that your new life shall be, along with you losing all memory of your bad life except for common knowledge. Goodbye Eric Yangsten, or whatever your new name shall be."

The judge snapped his fingers and then everything went dark.
