“Curazo” click “riesia?” click “miure” click “miuriemia” click “rerasia” click “shaerauraule”click “siaraushoeriesiare?!” I heard from the bushes.
“What the hell?!” I yelled.
This is new.
Then came the headache. A piercing almost physical pain came over me. I was on the ground trying to fight off the pain. It started to give way.
Then I noticed. About a third of what would fit in the bushes were advancing on me. Then about half of them stopped and then more pain came washing over me. At this point I was just fighting to keep conscious. It was a losing battle. I did the only thing I thought might help. I rerouted every vein of power to my head. My head had sudden abilities I would have never guessed at. I noticed that if I were to pool the power in my eyes, not much, but some I could have infrared vision. My taste was suddenly acute, as was my hearing. My mental prowess and defenses were suddenly spiked and their mental attack had no effect.
I put Aurinko behind my back and in my waistband and tried to stand in a nonthreatening way.
“Sesiarausho?!” said a voice from the bushes. The rest of the creatures came out from the bushes.
They were greenish and had oversized heads. They were wearing crude animal skins and crude spears on their backs. They all took out their spears and pointed them at me.
“Kirausheire” click “miuriesiacie” click “ruse?” one said, likely the leader.
I looked at them blankley. The language barrier is going to be a pain to overcome. “I don’t speak your language” I said while pointing at my mouth. One behind me kicked me forward and I got the memo. I moved forward and followed them home, presumably.
As we advanced on the village, I saw really primitive tents, sometimes there was just a hole in the ground with some wood over top of it. There were fires and groups of people were sitting and focusing really intently on a piece of iridescent stone or metal, just like the spear heads but it was moving like water. Then one passed out and the metal stopped moving and was in the form of a spear head. There were bon fires all around and people seemed to be reading on tablets of the metal.
I was steered over to a ten foot hole in the ground with surprisingly smooth sides, but they were muddy, and there was a small pool of water at the bottom.
They shoved me in, then they shoved some sticks over the top and weighed it down with heavy rocks. Then they tossed a book made of the iridescent metal down in with me.
“Miarerawashoe” click “siarau” click “seshoreralau” click “shikau” click “siarausheiraumiu?” said one of her guards roughly. I didn’t understand. The book looked like a children's book for learning the alphabet of some sort. I recognized some of the pictures as things that were in my dimension as well. They seemed to have the same name so I went on that assumption and was fluent with my enhanced brain in only two weeks. They seemed angry that it took me so long.
They learn a hundred times faster, it seems. They need to learn quicker to survive in an environment that is constantly changing.
“That makes sense.” I responded to Aurinko.
I was finally ready to speak to them. “I’m ready to go speak to your leader now.”(I translated for your convenience.)
“Oh, now you're ready. Is your entire species this stupid?”
“We don’t have to deal with living in such a weird place.” I responded.
“Fair enough.” was the basic translation of his words.
Then he let me free and led me to the leader's tent. They were about half my size at their tallest and I wasn’t really even that tall so I towered over them.
He led me to a large tent, presumably the leader's tent. I walked in. On my knees. It was made for people half my size so I had to be on my knees.
“Hm. This is what you found? Why wait so long?”
“We had to teach it to speak words, great shaman.”
“I’m right here.” I told them. “And I can understand you. I’m not stupid.”
“Then why take so long to speak? If you are not stupid then why not come speak to me yesterday? I was ready.”
“Because I am human. I come from a different dimension. I come from a dimension that is stable and does not change. Your dimension is drifting through other dimensions. I came to train to protect the multiverse from any threat that there may be.” As I said that last part I pulled out Aurinko.
The phsyclings as I had started calling them, all fell on their faces in a devoted bow.
“I am so sorry for how we treated you, oh one of ancient power! Please forgive us! We did not know! We are nothing! Please pay no heed to what we have done on this day!” the shaman was shaking, she was clearly too old for this, but she did it anyway out of deep respect.
“Relax, I would have done the same thing. You reacted quite well. You don’t need to bow. I just recently finished my training.” I told her.
“I have sent my emotions of awe and worship of your presence to all near! You will now be praised as you deserve to be!” she said as she got up off of the ground and motioned for all of her servants to get up as well. “How much do you know of the dimensional weapons and the dimensional glass?” she asked.
“What?” I asked. I had no clue what any of those things were.
“Ah. We have much to learn” she said. “Come, please. This way, there are tablets of these things.”
On the way to what must have been like a local library, I asked her about her race.
“We are empaths with weak psychic abilities.” she responded. “That is how we so rudely gave you that migraine. We can only transmit our emotions to each other because one end sends the message the other receives. It does not work with only one side.” She explained their strange abilities to me.
That was interesting. As we walked I noticed rubery bumpy pads on their hands, feet and knees. Likely for gripping things that their almost wet smooth skin couldn’t.
“Hey, what is that iridescent metal stuff?” I asked her as we walked past the group of phsyclings that were working the stuff.
“Ah yes. That is soulrock. It reacts to our psychic abilities by turning into almost water. Then we can use our abilities to mold it into most anything. It is completely unbreakable. It takes much power. More than the average citizen. Without our powers we would be working with weak stone or bone. So primitive.”
We walked in silence after that. It was a longer walk than I was expecting. In time we got to the library tent.
We walked in and the books were in a sort of backpack. They were made of wood and the top and backside were exposed but had straps to keep the soulrock books in place. The book packs were made to interlock with little holes in the tops and sticks coming from the bottom. It was genius really. If there was a fire or they were moving then they could just grab the packs and leave.
“Come, sun warrior. These are the books on the dimensions. Study them well. It may just save your life.” The shaman said as she pulled a pack off of the stack and thrust it at me.
“Okay.” was all I could say before she was gone. She must have been old. I thought as she stumbled off. “Well. That was cool.”

I sat down on a stump and got to reading.
The first book read:
The dimensions are strange things. The fact that they all come from one root dimension should mean that very little changes as you go through these dimensions, but no, the very reality of the world changes entirely, I would know this better than anyone, living and documenting in the “finding dimension” as I have begun to call it. I call it this because when someone comes here it is usually to find some other dimension to go to.
In other words, when a dimension is created, it starts from scratch. A dimension is created every time a decision is made. Every decision creates a dimension where one does one thing, and in the other he does another thing. That is straight forward. But, with the energy of this separation of dimensions, another dimension is created where, to the whims of some higher being, reality is different and it can never be predicted how it will be different, it just is. I have yet to discover everything that the multiverse has to offer, but I will continue to edit this document as I learn more.
That was interesting but had nothing to do with anything I cared about.
The next tablet was in a messier script but was fairly nice.
The dimensional glass. I have no doubt that it exists. It is a mirror, created at the beginning of a dimension's creation. This mirror can be moved and everything, it is just a mirror after all. But instead of seeing yourself in the mirror, you see another dimension. You can choose which dimension you can look into, but usually it will take the basics of what you want to see, and will show you what dimension fits that description. You can go through this glass into that dimension you were looking into. These mirrors do not connect. They will take you to a dimension but to get back, you need to find that dimension's dimensional glass. We live in the one place that you can not find a dimensional glass, because we do not live in a proper dimension. We will live here forever and can travel to no other dimension. That may just be our salvation from any threat that may try to use the dimensional glass. For that I am thankful.
That was helpful. Maybe that was how that one guy got to my dimension. I sincerely hoped that he didn’t do anything too bad. Who am I kidding? He tried to kill me the moment he was in my dimension. He would be a major problem. Or maybe he was already a problem. Maybe he was a problem but not anymore.
I have to stop thinking about home. I thought. This could be something that could be very dangerous. I guessed that this was what I had to protect the multiverse from.
No. That was all he offered so I let it drop.
The next book was such a nice script it was hard to read. The letters were so small I should have used a magnifying glass to read it, but once my face was inside of the tablet (not literally) it was amazing.
This is a book on the dimensional weapons. The dimensional weapons are weapons forged from the power of the first dimension being created. We of the lost dimension worship these beings and the ones of whom they chose to bond with. I say beings because they were forged in the same fashion that your parents forged you- I’m sensorring this part.- the weapons are only weapons because their parents, the higher beings that made the dimensions, told them to be guardians of this dimension. This higher being was surprised when other dimensions started coming from the first dimension. He assigned each of his children to a dimension until there were too many for them to have one and assigned each of them several dimensions. Until his youngest son, nïave and angry at everything, betrayed the others and got the most rotten of men to wield him and combine power with each other. He used this power to destroy many dimensions until the other weapons took upon them the most righteous of men and combined their power to force him into hiding. He has made some major disturbances in the past but has never presented a danger to the existence of every dimension.
That is the story behind the dimensional weapons. We worship the dimensional weapons as holy incartates of the higher ones. There is a sun dagger. A destructive tool of life and death, the first born son. There is the ocean whip. A calming tool of finesse and wildness. The second son. There is the world hammer. Wild and destructive with a beautiful side, the third son. There is the wind scythe. A blade of blunt force but also finesse, beautiful and swift when protecting what it loves most. The fourth son. Then there is the ancestry blade. Destructive and hot headed, and most of all, he was the one to have betrayed the multiverse, and is, evidently, most powerful in its unpredictability and the advancements made after each child was made. The youngest of the five sons.
That was a lot to unpack. There was so much in there.
“Is it all true?” I asked in english because that was my native language. It wasn’t really a question. I could tell that this was all credible information. It was all just. . . So heartbreaking. “So we are fighting against your brother.” I said after he didn’t respond for a while.
Yes. he sounded so choked up over it. It was almost a whisper when he responded. And we can’t simply kill him. That would be too easy. Too nice. We have to imprison his wielder till the end of time so that he cannot find a new wielder. This is the only way we can keep the multiverse safe from him.
I think we should trap his wielder here so that he cannot get to Suku who we will trap in a different dimension.
“I’m so sorry. That is terrible. I can’t even. . . wow. That kind of betrayal. . . I just. . . do you need a hug?” that last part was almost a joke but I really was wondering if that would make him feel better.
No. Come on. We have training to finish. He seemed. . . Resigned. Like he had given up. Likely on saving his little brother. He needed help. People that would understand. But no one could. Not even the rest of the weapons. They had no idea what it was like to think that you were responsible, as is the burden of the eldest brother.
“Okay. Whatever you want.” This was a shocking realization. I was going to imprison my last friend I have’s younger brother for eternity.
I walked into the woods to that area with all the scorch marks on the ground and the bomb-like destruction everywhere.
You have tried something that I really didn’t know you had the control to do. That takes some intense control, which means that you should be able to do almost anything with my power. Except for jumping, of course, and there are other things, but you couldn’t even comprehend it yet. Now freeze the air.
“What?” I asked. That last command came out of nowhere. At least he was back to his A-holish self.”you are a weapon of heat. How am I supposed to freeze the air?”
Take all the heat out of the air. Duh. Are you stupid or is this just a rough day for you? He said the last half of the sentence like a parent that was humoring a child who said they had a boo boo but really just wanted to cry because they’re children.
“Ass hole” I muttered under my breath as I tried to see the energy in the air.
Oh, I love you too.
Sure enough there was energy in the air, but there was no vein to rerought. I tried to grab it but there wasn’t enough to hold with my consciousness. I sat there for a while with no results.
“What do I do! I need some sort of hint or something! You can’t just say figure it out and read a magazine."
Figure it out. Then a picture of Aurinko reading a magazine called “hot knives weekly”. That made me laugh. Look, it’s my power. Why not just reclaim it?
“Oh, yeah why don’t I just- I’m trying to! What do you want me to do, make a vacuum. . .”
That was exactly what he wanted me to do. I didn’t hear it from him but I knew in my heart of hearts. I didn’t reach out this time, I used the little holes for power to come out of and pulled. The holes were suddenly filling with energy.
It was so slow though. To make a real difference in the temperature I would have to stand there for hours. But I was full of power, and melting my shoes. And my clothes were on fire. I was naked. I shot out all the excess power in me in a blast like a rocket thruster.
Let's go see the phsyclings and see if they have some clothes big enough for you.
Anyway, that is a good way to gain some power if you're low. Especially if there is a fire nearby. Those are really easy to take from.
“Okay.” so I went to find the phsyclings village.
“Oh! My lord incarnate! Whatever would you like? I can get you anything you would like. Anything at all.” said the first person to see me when I walked into the village.
“I just want some clothes. Oh, actually can I have something made out of soulrock? Like a necklace or something?” I asked her.
She was all too quick to comply with my requests. “Yes, my lord! Just a moment, holy incarnate!” she replied as she ran off. She slipped a few times but made it wherever she was going just fine.
When she got back she handed me some crude skins with the necklace on top of it. It was a simple sun, just like the one on Aurinko’s hilt, just without the jem.
“Thank you so much for this.” I said.
“Oh it was nothing! Anything else you want? I can do anything for you.” she was kinda freaking out so I told her to get lost. I wasn’t really that rude but that was the basics of what I said.
I put the clothes on and found a really well made sheath of soulrock in there. It was the perfect size and shape for Aurinko and was lined with some sort of velvet stuff that Aurinko told me was a plant that was basically grass if it were velvet and it would never rot or go bad. It would be like that for eternity. It was all beautiful.
I think it’s time you should learn how to jump. Aurinko said.
“Really? “ I asked as I put him in the sheath. This and the necklace I would not be getting rid of with the rest of the clothes.
Yes, I think so. You need to view the power of the universe first. Then you make a hole in it. Then you tell me which dimension that hole will lead to, then you step through. That easy.
That was something I could think of. First I tried the veins. Nothing. Then I thought of the fabrics of the universe and tried sheets. Bingo! I ripped a hole in it with my mind and it gave easily. I’ll stay here a few more days. I told Aurinko and didn’t go through.
I lied. I just wanted to thank the phsyclings for their hospitality and told them I may be back in a few hundred years. Then I jumped. It took less than a second.
