Book 1 Chapter 3

“Hm. Too bad. I really didn’t want you to die on a bad day. Oh well. I guess there is no helping it.” He shot a blast of sound at the strange woman. Pahaääni had always had a gift for sound. He had purple eyes, an odd color, surley. Normally you’d have your greens and blues and browns and oranges, every once in a while there would be someone with red eyes, but never purple. He wasn’t always called Pahaääni. For the longest time everyone would call him Corban. Corban, do this, oh, Corban, I didn’t see you there, Corban, do this, Corban, do that, Corban Corban Corban. His parents had given him that name. He despised it with everything he was. It was such an ordinary name for someone with abilities never seen before. So he changed it. He was a ruler, conqueror of worlds, ender of revolutions. He couldn’t have a plane name like Corban. He had purple eyes, for pete's sake!

His purple eyes had indicated the ability to control sound. He could see it as if it were blue tinted glass. He had clicked his tongue, gathered the sound into a ball, condensed it, and let it free in a focused blast in her direction as he had a thousand times before.

It was odd. She didn’t fight back like others in his dimension had. She just collapsed and burst into flames, leaving nothing but glass in her wake. Well, killing them should be a lot more fun than in his dimension.

“Hm.” he made the sound of surprise and walked off in no direction in particular, trying to find the leader of this world and to kill anyone who won't tell him. Just as he had in his dimension. He had been ridiculed all his life for his odd powers that seemed to have no use in his “perfect” society. Eventually he lost it. He killed everyone in his school, starting with his bully and left to find the world society of peace. Eventually he had the entire world under his thumb and killed so many people that had neglected him or been rude, or hurt him.

Over time he got bored. He had to find some other world to overtake. His mind went to the child's fable of the dimensional glass. That’s simply ludacris. Well, why not? He had all the time in the world. Every dimension has a dimensional glass but they don’t connect to each other. They each connect to every dimension but usually just transported a person to a random dimension because they didn’t really care, or sometimes didn’t have a choice.

He found the last of his dimension, killed them off, which was still immensely satisfying, and sought after the dimensional glass. He found it and went through.

He walked for a long time. Did these people know how to build buildings? This may be less fun than he was expecting. He did see strange brown poles sticking out of the ground. He blew one up to see if there was anyone inside. Nothing. It was all just tanish stuff all the way through.

“Interesting” he truly was interested. This was new. He kept walking. For days. Weeks. It took him months, with no mode of transportation. He found buildings but saw the sound first. His adrenaline was high now. He killed several people to get their attention.

Funny. They didn’t explode like that one girl. They just made a mess. People started running and screaming. Cowards in every dimension. Too bad. Cowards made terrible mobs.

“Listen, you cowards. I want to know where your leader is, or more of you will die. Understand?” it had appeared that they did.

“Hey!” Pahaääni turned to the man. Maybe they weren't all cowards. “Yah! You! Whatever you're doing I need you to stop it and raise your hands and come in peace or I will be required to use force!”

“Ah. you must be law enforcement. I’m simply shaking in my boots.”

No hesitation the law enforcement shot him in the shoulder.

“What was that ass hole?” the man had made a mistake.

“Considerable force, I will give you that.” he did a basic healing spell that anyone could do. The bleeding stopped and the bullet fell out but it was still a bad wound that would take some time to heal. That spell took some of his strength but he didn’t let it show. He looked at the man calmly. “But still, I have abilities that it seems that none of you have. I wouldn’t expect you to have my abilities, I'm one of a kind, but no abilities? That was a surprise when I came here. But what you do have is something I could get used to.”

“I need backup! Call in the military or something!”

“It could be bad but there is no way it is that bad.”

“I need it now! This guy’s gonna kill everyone! Get the military here NOW!”

“Military. That’s a funny word. Tell me law enforcement. What does it mean?” he didn’t want to kill this man. Not yet. He had guts. That was an admirable trait and something worth letting him live longer for.

“It means you're dead!”

“Closest military units in bound” came the walkie talkie.

Okay. I just have to stall and get everyone else out of here.

“Yes! Run you worthless monkeys! Run, run, run!” Pahaääni was yelling excitedly as he blew up a bunch of people. “Hey mister law enforcement! You will take me to your leader. You see, I find that having one of your own betray you is like poetry. I love it. Just let me finish up here real quick and we can get moving.”

It was pure horror unleashed on the human race. People seemed to just spontaneously combust into a shower of blood. This man was terrifying. Maybe betraying the human race wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t die. Maybe he could hide a group of refugees right under his nose. That might work.

“I ended an entire planet of people! I will find you no matter where you hide! I can see every little noise you make and use it against you! There is no point in running! It is amusing though.”

He heard Cars. Airplanes. The military! They came! He was too busy weeping in joy at their arrival that he didn’t notice when they got out of their vehicles and aimed their weapons at him.

“No, I got shot once today, I would prefer that it doesn’t happen again.” he killed half of them with barely a glance. The rest of the military ran off with their tails between their legs, leaving nothing more than dust in their tracks.

There really was no hope. The human race as we know it is gone.

“Fine. I will take you to my leader.”

“Yes yes, just one moment.” every building in the city came crashing down to a pile of ruble, killing anyone trying to hide inside of them. “Lets go. We don’t have till the end of time you know.”

The police officer started praying that his family died in a far less brutal fashion, for that was all that could be done.
