Day 2

Day 2 as an Adventurer.

I woke up better than yesterday and left the bathhouse. I continued to walk in the dangerously cold weather once again. The more I move, the colder it gets. Don't get me wrong, I'm nowhere near the capital, but it got greener a few hours later. As I enter the Maplelands (according to the map), a bandit camp blocks the trail. I was thinking about finding a way to avoid getting spotted, but I got tackled down and dragged to the camp. After they (forcefully) dragged me into their leader's quarters and slammed me against the table like they were about to get something out of me in an interrogation room.

A minute later, the leader came and introduced himself as Cauldron Steel.

He tells me "You know that we don't like strangers hanging around our area, right? We could snap your neck and chop it off like a chicken that can't lay an egg, but we have an offer in return for your life. I will give you three days to complete my quest, which is to travel back to nightgard mountain's dragon cave and give me the Nights Blade, And if you succeed, I'll spare you and you can come and go to this camp as long as you like, as long you don't rat us out or attack. Is that a deal?"

Is that a deal? I came all the way from the north, through blizzards, and frost bites, and you expect me to go back there to retrieve a damn sword that will serve absolutely no purpose to anyone in your stupid camp!?

"Yes sir!" I gave him a handshake and shaked it hard. Why did I agree to this request? Maybe survival, but that's not guaranteed. If I was really smart and dumb at the same time, I would have refused and gotten jumped by some rugged Bandits with knives and stabbed five hundred times while at it, and yet I accepted it, at least I have a couple of hours or days to live.

So, the bandit leader takes me to introduce me to the people that he's going to send with me to get the damn sword. He goes to a shack or what he refers to as the Butcher shop. I entered the Shop only to be met by a ginormous woman with… cat ears? Yep, that's a Beastkin, but I've never seen one this big and tall… She's like if Arnold Schwarzenegger had a threesome with Andre the Giant, Chyna and… any cat boy in fiction and they ended up impregnating her and it created that. She looks like she could pick up a whole castle if she wanted to.

I was staring at her in silence until the Bandit leader tapped my shoulder to snap me out of my thoughts. "Hey, I know she's a huge one, but let's get back to what I was trying to say. That's Azihana, and she's gonna be your protector for the mission, and I know she's least likely going to backstab you because if she backstabs you, she backstabs me, and she knows that she doesn't wanna backstab me, right Azihana?"

Stolen story; please report.

Azihana nods, agreeing with the Bandit leader.

The Bandit leader signaled us to follow him and he led us to a guy with glasses.

"And this would be Gregg Palmer, he knows everything about legends and myths more than anyone in the camp. Surprisingly, he's the only one who survives every mission for these items, either he's intelligent enough or he's a lucky bastard." The Bandit leader says before the man in the glasses interrupts him.

"There's no such thing as luck, Cauldron, you should know that." The Bandit leader gave him a glare before saying "That's Chief Cauldron to you, Palmer!" The Man looks at The Bandit leader unfazed and replies "Whatever Chief, I'm going to get my stuff before I head out with Jailbait and Romp right there, ok?" He heads to the tent, and at the time, I was fuming with anger because he called me jailbait even though I'm thousands of years older than him. While Gregg was getting ready, The Bandit leader takes us to a guy that was in the middle of farming in a field. The guy looks up at The Bandit leader and says "Well, Well, Well, if it isn't Chief Cauldron Steel himself." The Bandit leader walks up to the guy and says "Kaleb, you old son of a bitch!" Before doing a hand tango on each other. The Bandit leader looks at us and says "This is my old friend, Kaleb Bolton, before I became the leader, we were guards for the camp. When I thought about this mission, I thought about him, he's tough for this stuff. I know you all are going to get along with him."

As we head to the Gate of the camp, The Bandit leader bids us goodbye.

A few hours later after being back to the damn cold, the four of us followed the trail and wore some actual warm coats which were provided to us by Kaleb. Even though I'm not an officially licensed adventurer, I was starting to get the gist of being one despite being with bandits. Azihana was carrying a large bag on her back, Gregg was looking at the map of the mountain named Nightgard, the home of the Night's Blade, Kaleb was carrying an ax while singing some tunes from this world. As we climbed the mountain, it got even colder than the very north itself.

Gregg turned to me and said "Hey Jailbait, stop chattering your teeth before I give you your last cold baptism in the lake a mile from here."

I then replied "Shut up, I can't help it! It's too fucking cold!"

Gregg smirked at me and said "I don't care if it's too cold, we are not turning back, besides, I have a perfect spot for us." He points at a cliff that is approximately 45 miles away from us.

"You've gotta be fucking kidding me…" I replied with a scornful face.

Gregg laughs "I rarely lie, Jailbait."

We continued to climb this damn mountain to get to the cliff, as my legs grew weaker after the first Twenty-five miles, Kaleb offered to carry me, and he did.

After we arrived at the said spot, he put me down on the ground and everyone was setting up camp. I laid down sore on the ground. I closed my eyes, ending the day off with a shitty end.
