‘Now what’s this all about? Why are the nobles here and why are they staring at me’ thought Sebastian. He sat at the corner near the balcony fencing while avoiding eye contact.
His wide grin smile blatantly displayed on his face.
The 5 noblemen candidates wearing their battle gear were glaring at Sebastian. The other regular and the scholarship candidates kept their distance and keenly watching from afar.
The first of the noblemen to speak up was the red-haired guy dressed in a flashy red armor set was Ryan Redell, the second in line to inherit the family name. He was a kind person and often mingled with commoners even though he was a noble.
“Oh so you must be the so-called ‘Dead player’ that everyone here was mentioning, right?” asked Ryan.
Sebastian continued to remain seated on the floor,
“Sorry but I think you're mistaking me for someone else.”
“Oh is that so!” Suddenly the grey-haired noble stepped forward, “How about we slice up you right now so that you could speak the truth.”
This angry guy wearing a silver armor set armed with a dual pair of swords was Malt Quinn.
He’s the youngest in the Quinn house, and also the most pampered by his parents. Certainly, you could tell he looked down on people lower class than him.
Ryan blocked Malt’s path with his spear.
“What do you think you’re doing Ryan? Move out of my way,” said Malt threateningly.
“We are here just to talk. Don’t try to start unnecessary trouble,” said Ryan.
“Tch. Stop acting as if you are our leader or something..” saying so Malt finally sheathed back his swords.
“But could you see the way he is smiling in the presence of nobles? If it wasn’t for this office, I wouldn’t think twice while cutting him down.” joined in Sabrina Bourbon, “Every inch of his fiber reeks of a foul stench.”
Sabrina Bourbon, a beautiful blonde girl with blue eyes. She was wearing a light armor set followed by a cape. Her sister is Katrina Bourbon, the captain of Purple Centaurs Magic Knight squad. She’s quite an uptight person and relatively thinks quite highly of herself.
“Now calm down Miss Bourbon. You needn’t sully your hands getting rid of such wretched swine like him. It’s better to leave it at the hands of the lower class candidates.” said Bernabei Sacrophin, “Death by a beautiful noble lady of your stature is probably too good for him.”
Bernabei Sacrophin, the tall young man wearing dark robes and his jaws covered by a black strap of cloths from his robes. The Sacrophin noble house has been quite well known for its practices of Dark magic and Bernabei was the third eldest son in the Sacrophin family.
“Tch. I know it very well, you don't need to remind me of that. Also please could you stop with the flattery, I am getting kinda sick of it.” replied Sabrina with a pained look.
Bernabei burst in laughter,
“Hahaha. Well, sorry the moment my eyes fell on you. I can only think about one thing and that’s you, lady Sabrina. I hope you reconsider my proposal, once we have done with this Knight exam.”
“Spare me for the love of God. I don’t intend to get married anytime soon,” replied Sabrina.
“Yes, but maybe in the future.” insisted Bernabei.
Malt interrupts,
“Hey Bernabei, now's not the time for your romantic nonsense.”
Bernabei snapped,
“Watch your mouth, Malt. Otherwise-”
“Oh, Otherwise what? Huh?!” replied agitated Malt.
“Stop your bickering. It’s making my head hurt, I don’t get what guys find so amusing about Sabrina. I am much stronger and beautiful than her.” said Gartina.
Gartina Colossus the second eldest granddaughter of Fenrir Colossus, one of the 3 great war hero Generals of the Rublor kingdom. The Colossus family is one of the powerful noble houses and a close ally to the royal family.
Gartina has a tanned skin and quite a beautiful face with curly black hair.
Although, she was quite muscular because of her love for training. She tends to wear skimpy light armor that reveals her abs, that could put any man to shame. Hence, she’s not much popular with the men.
She was holding her war hammer, which weighs roughly about 90 kgs on her shoulder, as she glared at Sebastian. Sebastian mistakenly made eye contact with her.

“What are you staring at? Do you find something funny from what I said?!!” asked Gartina as she leaned forward intimidating Sebastian.
Sebastian backed away,
“Huh? I don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Could I have some space, please-”
His grin widened and his teeth were clearly visible.
“You bastard, how dare you to call me ugly!” screamed angry Gartina and swung her hammer with her full strength.
Gartina was also short-tempered and quite sensitive when people talk about her appearance. Many people who said to her that her appearance was grotesque never lived to tell the tale.
Sebastian was quick, he quickly kicked the railing behind him and got away from Gartina.
Gartina’s hammer instead crushed the railing along with a piece of the floor where Sebastian was seated before. The whole rubble fell to the floor below.
Every other regular candidate present there moved away from the commotion.
“Lady Gartina, calm down! Didn’t you swore not to use violence?” asked agitated Ryan.
“But he called me ugly… or did he?” asked puzzled Gartina.
“What? No, he didn’t.” said Sabrina as she took a sigh, “You are still quite the airhead Gartina.”
Gartina finally calmed down,
“Yeah, my bad.”
Sebastian in a distance was on his guard,
‘What the hell is wrong with that woman?’
Just when Malt unsheathed his swords,
“How dare you disrespect Lady Gartina, you’ll pay.” saying so Malt charged with a smug smile on his face.
“Stop it! Malt,” shouted Ryan.
“No, he’ll pay!” saying so Malt charged at Sebastian as he thought, ‘This is my chance to kill this runt!’
Sebastian was backed at by the railing behind him and nowhere to go.
Malt came charging and attacked at Sebastian with a wide swing trying to cut Sebastian along with the railings.
Although, Sebastian quickly grabbed the railing handle and performed a backflip. He used his support of the railing to jump away and landed on top of the Chandelier.
The huge chandelier started swinging in the mid-air. Sebastian quickly grabbed the chain of the chandelier to maintain his balance.
He then turned facing the nobles,
“What the hell are you guys attacking for?” asked agitated Sebastian.
Malt stood at the edge of the railing,
“Get here you, coward! Fight me, already. You don’t need a relic to fight us right? So what’s the matter, why not start fighting right here, or are you scared?”
“Wait until the official test begins. I don’t want to cause unnecessary trouble for the board examiners and get myself kicked from the examination. So please wait until then.” replied back Sebastian.
Bernabei giggled,
“Haha! The lad has better etiquette than you, Malt. I can’t even tell who's the noble here.”
Malt wasn’t happy with remarks made by Barnabei,
“Shut your vile trap!” and then he turns his face toward Sebastian, “You lowly plebeian, get down and face me.”
“Sorry but I don’t wanna fight you, and I am not obliged to do so either. Could you just be kind enough to give me the opportunity to get my registration done-”
Malt activated his relic, the blade of his sword started glowing.
“If you don’t get down, I’ll make you-”
He swung his one of the sword in mid-air, creating a slash of mana. The slash from his sword went flying towards the chandelier’s chain which had latched it to the ceiling.
The big chandelier along with Sebastian started falling down to the floor.
Sebastian in the last second jumped away from the chandelier and landed on the lower floor.
The big glass chandelier crashed with a loud noise of shattering glasses and dispersing all over.
“Haha! How did you like that! Huh?!” shrieked out Malt.
“What the hell are you doing, Malt!” shouted Ryan.
“I didn’t do it, that was HIS fault,” muttered Malt.
The huge beautiful chandelier that shined brightly in the room was in total pieces. Now the huge source of light was gone, the room was a bit dimmer although it was still seeable, thanks to the candles placed at every corner of the room.
Sebastian quickly got up on his feet and dusted away the shards of the glasses from his dress and raised his guard. He took a fighting stance while keeping his eye on Malt on the upper floor.
Malt stood at the railing fence with one of the legs on the railing, and his sword drawn as he glares back at Sebastian.
‘I don’t want to fight, but I guess I can’t walk out of this fight.’ thought Sebastian but soon he heard a noise.
He glanced towards his front and noticed a big empty couch coming flying right to his face.
“Crap-” muttered Sebastian.
The flying couch took Sebastian dragged him along with it and crashed at the wall behind him. The impact was powerful enough that half of the couch penetrated the wall along with Sebastian. The other half of the couch was still inside the room.
“What the hell, Oars! He was my prey” shouted Malt at a handsomely looking tall boy, one of the noble candidates present at the lower floor.
This noble candidate had his hands inside his pockets staring where the couch landed.
“Malt, your so-called prey jumped in front of me. Could you blame me for getting enticed in joining the fun, will you?” replied Oars with a smug smile, “Also I guess I used a little too much strength to kick that couch. I hope that it didn’t kill him already.”
Oars Balantros, one of the noble houses next in line heir. He’s quite the prodigy when it comes to strength and mana capacity which is quite huge and growing compared to other nobles. Also, he’s quite cocky that even some of the nobles also loathe him.
“He better not be dead! I will be the one to put him out of his misery,” shouted Malt.
“Stop your yapping! Your little barbaric act could have ruined my makeup, you know. Geez.” blurted Lisia, the same girl who once ordered Sebastian to fetch a glass of wine.
Lisia Welsh, one of the youngest among the Welsh family. She’s quite pampered being the youngest and hence has a rotten personality. Also, she has a soft spot for handsome men.
“Tch. Its Gartina who started it” complained Malt.
“Hah! I did nothing. It was all Malt’s fault.” replied Gartina as she hid her hammer behind her back.
“What!” scowled Malt.
The other nobles present who was watching the whole drama while sipping wine on their couch nonchalantly.
Just when the door of the hall opened up with a loud thud.
A guy with spectacles and dressed in a white suit and white pants. He was wearing a pair of white gloves and a rapier sword hanging by the hip.
“What’s with all the commotion…” he fell silent after seeing the mess in the room.
He quickly fixed his glasses by the temple and glared at the noble candidates,
“Someone explain, what the hell just happened here. And it better be a good one,” he said with threateningly.
