The pair of Goblins or now Hobgoblins walked down the main street of city and observed the innerworkings of this paradise for monsters. Amelia constantly let out sounds of amazement and astonishment as she pointed out to the various monsters and asked Ben what they were. “Ogre, Leopard beastman, Ant beast, Rhino leg”. Ben answered blankly to the rapid-fire question to the curious little mage next to him.
At the middle of the main street it branched off into multiple smaller but important streets being the industrial street, business street, arena and finally the residence street. Each of the streets are what keeps this place running and working, despite the pair of hobgoblins technically living here now they reside in the business district as they aren’t official residents, so they must reside in the hotels on business street.
Right now, the pair of monsters finished walking around enjoying the scenery and decided to go to the trading street in the business area. What welcomed them was a bustling area with wooden shops up with signs to entice the possible costumers to trade with them. The area was full of diverse creatures ranging from small fairies to members of the giant clan.
Within each clan there is always a legend of some great figure who brought their clan to the peak and for some unknown reason the figure disappeared suddenly leaving the clan to wallow and decay to what they are now. For example, for the giant clan there is a legend of a titan, something akin to royalty among the giants. The story is as follows: There was once a poor giant who was the smallest and weakest amongst the mighty giant clan but one day something changed in that tiny figure and the small giant rose and rose taking down enemy after enemy and standing above all literally and figuratively. The once small figure was no more and in its place is a towering giant that was deemed as a titan this brought fear even to the strongest and oldest clans in the world. But one day that mighty figure who held the clan and world on his shoulders disappeared one night leaving the clan to face a fatal calamity from those who suffered under the rule of the giants.

Noe the giants have shrunk to being just a minor family of strong but any sign of a titan and the clan once more faces signs of extinction.
All clans have similar stories but the weaker the clan the greater the figure that once rose, all major clans in present world are nothing but the weak oppressed clans who rose from the fall of the mighty figures.
What makes this important is that the path of evolution to each of those mighty races has been cut off from existence, before when the figure was ruling the giant clan others could evolve into titans and become strong though weaker than that legendary man. But the day he disappeared was the day the path was cut off, maybe forever. Even before the figure rose to power as a titan there was the path of evolution available it’s just others weren’t talented enough or didn’t know the requirements, the point is that it was available and after the disappearance it wasn’t.
This is something that keeps Ben up at night everyday as he recalls this ever time he sees a weakened fallen clan.
Ben thought of something suddenly before decisively walking to the giant figure in the corner of the market.
That figure who had runes around his neck signifying its status as a slave. “Oh, hello their customers, as you can see this is a member of the former mighty giant clan, he just reached adult hood and is extremely strong and durable befitting the name of the giant clan. Would you be interested in buying the giant, todays a special 2 gold coins for him”. The frog like creature said as he saw Ben eying the giant who stood lifelessly portraying its imposing figure.
Ben didn’t even bother haggling and just plainly threw the 2 cold coins he made from the animals and herbs he collected from his journey here. “Ah a rich magnificent man, I shall transfer owner ship now, all you have to do is put your hand on the rune and chant the incantation”. The frog man said before passing the incantation of ownership to Ben. The frog man ordered the giant to have its neck in arms reach so the ownership may be transferred.
The whole process was quick and simple and the giant who was obeyed the frog man now only obeyed Ben, but even though his life is another’s hand without even consulting him didn’t even faze the giant as he seemed to give up long ago.
“Lets go” Ben said to Amelia and the Giant as they walked back to the inn, within Bens eyes a plan was forming and the hunger in his eyes was growing.
