Chapter 3

Sarah, Goddess of Iridescent Colours, leaned back against a mound of pillows designed to keep her back erect upon the bed she was half covered in. She was a Wolfwoman with ever changing fur and wore a single piece dress which changed along with her own eyes. These colours, by the by, were never the same twice, despite others claiming that they were.

She was one of the many Elder Gods within the Terran Pantheon, and was the Goddess Queen of the other Gods and Goddesses, save for one. Her husband, the God King and Ageless who reigned supreme over many thousands of worlds. Of whom was often seen as a male Kitsune with nine tails that were often times being hugged from a passing mortal or immortal child. These instances did not suit the hardened heart of his image, but he cared little for such ideas as he was, first and foremost, the God of Children and Families. Therefore, allowing all such children to use his tails as he so wished.

The race of the Ageless was, by the by, a rare breed of God who must take into three gifts into their being before traversing a path where a guardian beast lay in wait. The beast would then task those who trespassed within its realm a session of torture which they must endure. This is due to the fact that it sifts through all of their past lives, and amplifies their right and wrong actions.

If they were to survive this encounter, then they are to proceed through the beast's gate to me he who is called the "One Above All". A God among Gods, many surmised, whilst many more believed that this being, which was in the shape of a galaxy sized Dragon, was the God. The one who created everything.

If such were to be believed, then why was he trapped within a space being guarded by a terrible beast which was stronger than it? Not many were able to come up with the answer, but that is neither here nor there.

For the Ageless had to sacrifice something of himself in order to transcend into that which he was to this day. The Nameless. A being who gave up his name and legacy to ascend as the fifth most powerful being within the Universe, and he was content with such a position.

In any case, Sarah sat upon her bed, kneading her temples to keep back the headache which had revealed itself after focusing too long upon the story which was upon her lap. For such a thing had long ago appeared before her very eyes, and she just now began to read it.

This was so, as she had tried to gather evidence against her husband, but not as one might believe. She did not believe he was capable of infidelity, and was often complain to by other females that he never acted in a sexual manner towards them. Yes. The Goddess would often frown upon such acts and antics the others would exude, but knew she did not need fear from him.

Instead, it was towards his supposed breaking of the Universe's laws and rules, and set about to discovering and bringing together such information so that she may take it before the Divine Council. Of whom held the power to break a God King's grip over their Pantheon, but what of a God King who was far superior than the Council? Well, she was sure to find out one day.

As to the reason why she was searching for such evidences to bring to the Council? She had long ago found out several inconsistencies within her life. For within this Pantheon, all of history is written down by those called Librarians. Each of whom were tasked with the caring and writing of every life within the worlds governed. From the smallest insect, to the birth of a newborn God or Goddess, everything has been recorded, and as such, the tampering of someone's Story, as they were called, was highly illegal throughout the Universe. If one were to be caught with tampering them, then this individual could face their own eradication and erasure from existence.

On one occasion, she had found herself staring at her Story with great confusion. Long ago she was tasked, along with a childhood friend, to be ambassadors to a new Pantheon which had appeared next to their own. Here, after they embarked, she found the pages were removed in a forceful manner, but where it picked up was from her return with the God King of the one she was sent to being claimed as her new husband.

Yes. She did love him, even at this time, but after discovering her Story had been tampered with, she flew over to others' within the Pantheon, and found out that each and every one was tampered in some way, shape, or form. Of which led to her becoming spied upon by the God King's Watchers. A group of expert spies and assassins who moved through the shadows in order to either Watch or carry out the death sentences imposed by he who was their Lord and Master.

This led to Sarah being stonewalled by many groups and Librarians who had long ago decided to help her. For each feared more from the retribution of her husband, than anything she could dredge up. Therefore, she was kept from gathering anymore significant evidence.

That is, until one day she found a black book with gold trimmings upon her bed. Upon the upper portion of the book was an eight eyes mask, whilst the bottom was titled in gold filigree, "The Devil King". Next to the book was a note which gave a brief summary of apologies, thank you's, and flattery before claiming that this book should give her the evidence needed to bring her husband to justice. However, she had to read it in its entirety to find such a thing.

Unfortunately for her, she had to put off reading the story as she had one other duty to perform. Of which came in the form of a child called Nox. Her child, to be exact, and came in the form of a hybrid between the form of her husband's black furred Kitsune with nine tails, and her own form of a Wolf. What is more, it was a young boy-child who had just became twelve cycles old, and was losing some of the protections placed upon him. Due to this, however, his father had come down to bring his son out into the world, which he had never been allowed to venture from their home before.

This was due to a small instance where he ran away from home when he was half his age, and found himself in an unknown city which tossed him into an orphanage when the guards found out he did not have a home within their walls. The instance, of course, frightened his young mind so much so that he called upon his innate powers to cast the city into perpetual darkness. One that not even the most powerful of mages could dispel, nor find the cause of. They even called upon their deities for assistance, but found that such beings were lacking.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Therefore, such deities called upon their God King, who came down to investigate. Whereupon he found out it was from his son, and promptly rescued him. Once at home, the couple proceeded to berate the child for a time, and once they received his apology, cuddled with him whilst their home was being warded off to prevent him from being able to escape their home again.

"Mom?" called out a cracking tenor of a young male's voice. Of which came from the Goddess's door, and upon turning her head towards the voice, noted her son who appeared as though he were naught, but a miniature version of his father. Whose fur was as dark as pitch with a smattering of silver hair running throughout until it appeared as though his body held many constellations within. What is more, he even dressed the same as his father, wearing only a pair of crimson trousers and a vest of the same colour.

'Then again, hadn't he always worn such an outfit?' Sarah shook her head quickly, brushing away the random thought from her mind as she focused her attention upon the boy. Of whom quickly entered the room, crossed the floor with quick strides, and flopped onto the bed, remaining unmoved.

"Long day?" she asked with perked ears and merriment dancing behind her eyes.

"Blah," came a muffled drawl, which only became more audible as he turned his muzzle to the right, "Dad is taking me, Mia, and Maya to a new restaurant Uncle Brutus recommended. It's on Terra, in the Necropolis, by the way."

"I kind of gathered," her right clawed hand stretched out and began to stroke his head and neck slowly. Of which caused her to chuckle as he sighed with great happiness.

"By the way," his body shot up quickly, his nine tails swaying in different directions, "did you want to come? It'd be nice to get out of the castle and see... what was it called again?" he frowned slightly, trying to remember what something was called, "It's the lights in the night's sky people keep telling me about."

"You mean the stars?" Sarah cocked her head to the left, a small smile stretched upon her lips.

"That's right," he snapped his fingers whilst his eyes sparkled, "Stars. I want to see them, but won't you come too, Mom?" Whereupon the Goddess shook her head slowly, causing the child to pout whilst his ears laid flat against his head.

"No," she reached out and flicked the middle of his forehead.

Of whom then reared back until he fell out of the bed and onto the floor, "Ow," he cried out, "That hurt, Mom," and proceeded to rub the spot which was flicked.

"No it didn't, and no I won't go. I've much to catch up on, and this is a special night for you and the twins. Therefore, you will have to go alone, but," she held up a single digit, cutting off his desire to whine, "I'll take you, Sia, and Shauu outside the castle tomorrow. How does that sound?" Instead of receiving a word or a sound, she was instead given a hug by her son before he dashed out of the room in order to search for his father.

"Now then," she sighed, leaning against her mound of pillows whilst pulling the book closer to her body, "let's return to the story, shall we?"

Within an unknown land was a large expanse of rolling farmlands full of wheat, corn, and legumes. Most of which was to be harvested and sent off to a great city several days north of these lands, where a kingdom of Humans have reign for many decades. Near such farmlands, however, was a sea of trees which served as hunting and training grounds for those who desired to learn and understand the ways of animals and monsters.

As such, this area was given the name of Nu'Bai, where many a young Adventurer comes to train in hunting and fighting both monster and beast. Thereby allowing themselves to learn, grow, and earn their wages.

However, deep within the forest proper, and upon a lonely hill, sat a corpse of a male Human. One that held most of its bones intact, but only due to the fact that a tree had long sprouted through the body. Thus, keeping it very much intact, even though the long deceased body was being used as a home for many a rodent colony.

That is, until a swirling mass of storm clouds appeared high above the lonely hill, and calling attention to it by those whose senses were sensitive enough to pick it up. Or, as was more common, by those of whom were near enough to view such an odd phenomena. Which meant yes, the Adventurers and Hunters within the great forest of Nu'Bai were able to witness such an event. What is more, a beam of violet light pierced through the centre of the storm, engulfing the hill, body, and tree with the beauty of the light.

Such a light persisted for many dozens of heartbeats, and when it finally faded away, the tree, hill, and body were removed from existence. When the clouds faded away, allowing the light to fall upon the empty space, it revealed a figure standing with nary a scrap of cloth covering the body.

This one, by the by, was wholly male with his limp genitalia hanging betwixt his legs. One that would give rise to many a pleasurable evening, if he were to choose to utilise it with something or someone. What is more, the pallor of his skin would cause many to believe his body to be close to death, as it was a ghastly white in colour. Not only this, but his shoulder length hair and eyes were of the same colour, save for a pair of pinpricks of darkness hiding within the globes secured in the eye sockets. If one were not able to peer closely at such eyes, then they would most definitely miss such pinpricks, as they were easy to miss.

The entirety of his body, despite being the colour of virgin snow and nude in every conceivable way, held the outlines of wired muscles. Thus giving way to the idea that the body was athletic in some way, but it also gave way to the shape as well, and would no doubt spark many a young heart to flutter if they were to view such a sculpture of perfection. Even his face appeared to be sculpted as well. What with the sharp contours of his face leading to an aquiline nose and hollowed cheeks.

However, such perfection was marred by his hands and feet. For they appeared to be a curse to this perfected being, as they held the appearance of a Devil's pair of hands and feet. What with the many endarkened and writhing lines swimming beneath the white skin, causing the digits to extend and retract twenty clawed points. Each of which were in the shape of a snake's fang, and were even hollow, as the beads of some sort of clear fluid dripped upon the ground. Of which caused the ground to sizzle, crack, and pop as the fluids spread itself until the unknown chemical compound ran dry.

Within a few moments, however, the Human-like creature's chest slowly puffed up as he inhaled the air until he could no longer do so. It was then released as a great scream was exuded from the throat of he who was reborn. Whereupon such a force caused the surrounding fauna to flee as the sound enveloped their minds in their entirety. For such a cry was of an apex predator who not only desired sustenance, but also used such a tactic to announce his presence to the forest and farmlands of Nu'Bai.

Once the scream was fully released, however, his left eye glowed a fierce crimson, whereas the right became a bright violet. This latter colour was accompanied by a girl's giggle, as the man ran into the forest with claws at the ready.
