“Scewy,” mewed Puella as she huddled against her friend, who were both hiding behind Karastak as he practically glowed from happiness. For he had just leveled up to 7, and was busy allocating his 20 points from the level gained, as well as adding spells to his repertoire. Whereas all around them were the many bodies of more than twenty Bandits who had desired to make a quick buck from robbing an “old man and some children of their gold”.

Now, however, it was they that were being robbed. Well, robbing the dead, truth be told. Then again, they wouldn't be needing anything of the sort, and the task was handed off to the talking Shade who had named itself as Zabartik. A meaningless name by their standards, but it took great pride in it, and would puff up its invisible chest at them whenever the topic came up.

Karastak

{Race: Foxman (Demon Lord)}

{Age: 25}

{Level 7; until Level 8: 12,000/34,000} {STR: 30; DEX: 30; CON: 77; INT: 34; WIS: 40; CHA: 120}

{Health: 254/254} {Mana: 440/440}

{Class: Illusionist} {Subclass: N/A}

{Skills: ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; }

{Passive Skills: ; ; ; }

{Titles: Soul Bound; Tamer of the Unknown; Indomitable Will; Master Mentor}

{Titles Equipped: Master Mentor}

“So many skills,” he muttered to himself with a slight frown, “I know of many would would enjoy having every last one of them, but I'd prefer quality over quantity... Hmm... First of all, let's add six points to my Intelligence score, three to my Constitution, and the rest to my Charisma. Will need more mana...” After confirming his desire to allocate his points, he felt a gust of wind surround his body briefly before looking upon his Status Menu once more.

{STR: 30; DEX: 30; CON: 80; INT: 40; WIS: 40; CHA: 131}

{Health: 260/260} {Mana: 462/462}

“That will work,” he nodded to himself before dismissing it and sitting himself down upon the ground. The move startled the girls, but Puella believed it to be an invitation and decidedly sat upon his lap. Here, she stared up into his eyes with her own, and giggled as he ruffled her hair.

Lupa, on the other hand, huffed with a frown as she crossed her arms and turned away from the scene. Jealousy had entered her heart, but didn't know how to rightly express it to the world. However, her young friend noticed this and giggled out, “Come on, Lupa,” as she pat his left leg which was closest to the Wolfgirl. Of whom slowly moved over, then squawked as the older of the pair was pulled onto his lap. Whereupon the pair giggled as Karastak smiled warmly upon the pair.

However, his mind soon drifted to another topic, as he thought, 'What sort of skills should I employ? Hmm.' His Status Menu was pulled up once more, as the children continued to giggle before snuggling against one another. They each stared everywhere except towards the carnage that their guardian had allowed to ensue, as it was a frightful scene, and they desired to not see it. Whereas he tapped a finger against his Secondary Class, which was not applicable. In other words, he did not have one, and desired to have an expanded list of quality skills.

“Command.”

“[Awaiting Command,]” spoke the monotonous voice of his System, one that the children still could not hear.

“What level do people normally gain a Secondary Class?”

“[Level 10,]” was the reply, but knew this rule would not be followed by one such as the Foxman before it.

“Uh-huh. Display the Secondary Classes available based on what I've accomplished thus far.”

“[...Unable to comply...]” If it had a body, then Command would have made the expression of desiring to hide under a rock for the rest of its existence from the glance he gave to the heavens above.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“If you're not going to give me what I want, then I shall make one myself,” he growled out, calling attention to himself by the girls. Each of whom perked their ears and tilted their heads, then giggled or smiled as he reached out to ruffle their hair.

“If you two will excuse me,” his voice was soft as he gently lifted the pair to their feet before standing tall once more. After which he stretched his body before swiping his hands across the air in front of himself. This called forth his Status Menu and everything within, as they were laid bare before his eyes.

“Based upon what I am able to do, perhaps a Summoner Class would best suit my person,” Karastak mumbled to himself, as he tapped the {Subclass} on his Menu. Of which caused the word to flare brightly, and he grinned as he was given access to the Classes available.

As Karastak was fiddling with his Status Page, the girls were also working on their own. For they had received approximately 32,000 EXP added to their total amount, which brought the pair up to Level 7. Lupa simply stared at her stats, whereas Puella danced a little. For the latter was not allowed to allocate anything, as per the request of Karastak to the invisible Command. Therefore, she only had to call it forth to see where everything lay.

The Wolfgirl, on the other hand, had a better grasp of her stats, and could therefore allocate anything and everything as she saw fit. However, she had the Class of Guardian, and therefore had to pay special attention to where every point would end up. This only caused her to chew on her tongue with some frustration, as she frowned at her own blue placard.

“Hey, hey,” mewed Puella as she nudged her best friend, “Look at my stats!” The Cat-kin pulled up her Status Page, and with her primary finger and thumb, flicked it around so that she could share what she sees.

Puella

{Race: Cat-kin}

{Age: 8}

{Level 7; until Level 8: 12,000/34,000} {STR: 15; DEX: 15; CON: 20; INT: 15; WIS: 15; CHA: 60}

{Health: 140/140} {Mana: 220/220}

{Class: Illusionist} {Subclass: N/A}

{Skills: ; ; ; ; }

{Titles: Apprentice of an Illusionist}

{Titles Equipped: Apprentice of an Illusionist}

“Neat, huh?” she grinned at Lupa, who reached out and pat her friend's head, who then proceeded to giggle from the attention. After which her eyes widened and gripped the Wolfgirl's hand as a thought flittered through her mind, “Can I see yours?”

“My what?” the other blinked as her mind tried to catch up with what was just spoken, “Oh. Sure, but only after I put in my points first, okay?”

“Kay!”

Puella hugged her from behind, and rested her head atop the older of the pair's back as Lupa tapped at her placard with a frown. Once completed, she turned the Status Menu to her, who then gaped at the sight.

Lupa

{Race: Snow Wolfgirl}

{Age: 10}

{Level: 7; until Level 8: 12,000/34,000} {STR: 20; DEX: 25; CON: 30; INT: 20; WIS: 15; CHA: 15}

{Health: 160/160} {Mana: 140/140}

{Class: Guardian} {Subclass: N/A}

{Skills: ; ; }

{Passive Skills: ; }

{Titles: N/A}

Puella released an adorable and curious sound as she looked at the placard offered with widened eyes. She didn't understand, nor pretended to, on what was shown. Therefore, she asked, “What's that?” as she pointed at the Skills.

“Those are my Skills,” replied Lupa who pat her friend's head.

“Muu. I know that, but what are they? What do they do?”

“Oh,” the Wolfgirl smiled a little as she hugged her friend who hugged her back, “Well, allows me to hit harder. lets me get between two people fighting so I can either defend or attack one or the other. The last one, , increases my stats for a minute.”

“What about those?” she pointed towards the Passive Skills portion of the page.

“Um,” Lupa tapped the both and read the descriptions to the other, “It says lets me strike something twice with one swing, and lets me carry around heavier shields as though they were one size smaller.” When the other cocked her head towards her left shoulder and released a curious noise, she sighed and tried to explain further.

“You remember how big my shield was when I first got it from Karas?” A nod was given in response, “Well, I can carry something twice as big with that Skill.”

Puella's eyes grew large from the thought, then twirled around in an effort to scan for something her friend could carry as a shield. However, after the cursory glance, she could find nothing, and therefore pouted at the loss. Though, she did spy Mr. Kar moving about the bodies, and began stripping them of something, which garnered their attention.

Once the pair glanced at one another and nodded, they scampered off towards their guardian with the Cat-kin mewing out, “Mr. Kar! Mr. Kar!”

“Hmm?” hummed Karastak with curiosity as he stood tall over the dead body of the Baroness of Slaughter. Once his eyes fell upon the children, a slight smile etched across his features as his body shimmered into that of an old Human once more. “Hello you two,” he waved at them both, who returned the gesture.

“What are you doing, Mr. Kar?”

“Oh this?” he pointed at the burly woman who had died from sustaining many cuts across her chest from Zabartik's attack, “I'm looting their bodies for anything usable.” Once proclaimed, he squatted over the body and proceeded to pat the dead woman's chest and hips in search of anything substantial.

Here, Lupa scrunched up her face in an effort to not laugh, as she sidled over to his side. After which she poked him for his attention and said, “Um, Mr. Karas, you know you can use the Loot Feature, right?”

“The what, now?” he blinked several times, not understanding what was just spoken of.

To which Lupa sighed and tapped the air over the body, and the trio watched as the woman's corpse collapsed in on itself until nothing was left beyond a pouch containing several dozen coins of silver and gold. Next to it was a large Axe, and a note with a large, red exclamation point on the front. Here, she scooped up the pouch and note, handing it to the illusory Human who was stunned from the scene, whereas she just frowned and kicked at the weapon due to it being too heavy for her.

“What? What just happened?” Karastak continued to blink in confusion.

“It's the Loot Function. Everyone knows about it, Mr. Karas,” she spoke as though it were of common knowledge.

“Not me,” he shook his head slowly, and released a secret to their ears which made Puella curious and Lupa amazed, “I'm not from Azzarath.”
