Chapter Four
Death
A year ago.
A mild October day.
A man.
A girl.
Destined for marriage.
Why did you have to take that pathway, young man? Why?
The Pain.
The Suffering.
The Darkness. My god the darkness.
Flashback
The sound of hospital machines beeping filled the air as doctors rushed frantically around Olivia and Edward, trying to keep them alive, but with no success.
Edward was left to deal with the consequences of what had happened only a few hours ago.
The doctors attempted to get Edward to talk about what had occurred to the two of them, but he was unable to say anything or even process what had happened.
Days passed without Edward speaking until one day he suddenly said, "Close your eyes, boy. You don't want to see this."
The doctor begged Edward to repeat what he had said, but he simply said “Those were the words the darkness said to me” before closing his eyes.
Months went by, and Edward disappeared from the hospital, leaving behind a note that read,
"Don't worry about me. I'll finally get my revenge."
Present Day – October 30th. Devil’s night
In the office of Club Ecstasy, B Dawg and Party Boy are discussing with the other gang members what their plans are for tonight.
“Gentlemen I first and foremost would like to thank you for spending your night with us. But there is something that we need to address. Gerald’s shop was set on fire. Now I don’t know who has the balls to do something like this, but I assure you that the bastard will be killed. As usual, there are no rules for Devil's Night. Have fun men.”
The door went flying open.
The gang ready their guns and aim them at the door
Edward walks through the door with his hands in the air.
“Can I help you with something?” B Dawg asked

Edward slides across the piece of paper with the note written in Thin Boy’s blood.
B Dawg and Party Boy are shocked at the realization of whose blood this is.
Edward rips his shirt off and stands with his arms across.
“Do it! Make me feel alive again!”
The gang unloads all their bullets onto Edward, decorating the wall behind him with bullet holes and Edward’s blood.
Not surprisingly the bullets don't affect Edward in the slightest.
“MY TURN!”
Edward draws out his dual handguns and massacres all 18 men, with blood everywhere, bodies dropping like flies, and bullets covering the floor, it’s as if the Devil himself took over Edward’s body.
B Dawg and Party Boy were still alive. Party Boy was clenching his stomach trying to stop the bleeding. B Dawg ran out of the room.
Edward approached Party Boy, aiming his gun at Party Boy’s head
“*cough* *cough* who...who are you?”
“You don’t remember? Do the words. “Oh, look at that piece of ass” Ring a bell.”
Party Boy’s face froze as soon as he recognized who he was talking to and was stunned to see Edward still alive.
“Yeah, I remember who you are. And that bitch loved what I did to her.” Party Boy started laughing.
BANG!
Edward couldn't listen to his laughter anymore and shot him in the head causing Party Boy to go flying backward through the window and land on the dance floor below causing everyone to start screaming and panicking.
“Two down. One to go.”
Edward began following B Dawg’s blood trail to the roof dispatching any of B Dawg’s goons with the shotgun.
At the top of the roof, Edward sees B Dawg franticly looking for an escape.
“Nowhere left to run B Dawg.” Edward took off his jacket and threw his handguns and shotgun off the roof of the building.
“Let’s settle this man to man.”
The two men looked at each other waiting for the right moment to strike
The sound of thunder gave the two men the signal to start fighting.
The altercation between B Dawg and Edward turned violent and bloody as they began to exchange blows. B Dawg managed to land a punch that knocked out one of Edward's teeth and started pounding on Edward’s ribs.
Despite the pain, Edward refused to back down. He shook off the pain and retaliated by attacking B Dawg, resulting in him breaking his arm and leg. The force of the attack caused B Dawg to fall to the ground in agony.
Now on the floor pleading for Edward not to kill him, the darkness chimed in with his comment on B Dawg.
“Funny. For a man who is nothing but an adrenaline junkie who loves himself. Now pleading for you not to kill him is just perfect. Do what you want to him, boy. He’s the one that shot you after all.”
“Please... Don’t kill me”
Edward pushed B Dawg against the wall and pulled out three knives.
“A year ago. A mild October day. A man. A girl. Destined for marriage. Why did you have to take that pathway, young man? Why? The Darkness. My god the darkness. This is what I have repeated to myself ever since that day. Now I finally get my revenge. Are you familiar with how Jesus died B Dawg?”
“No... No... Please... Do anything else but that. Just kill me. Don’t give me a slow death. I'm begging you please don’t do this.”
Edward impaled one knife into B Dawg’s right hand causing him to scream. A second knife in the left hand, screaming even louder and the final knife into both feet crucifying him to the wall, letting him bleed out.
“Have fun in hell B Dawg.”
With his revenge now fulfilled Edward picked up his gun knowing he had one last thing to do.
The two went back to the now burned-down house.
“You sure you want to do this? You could be the real-life, Batman. Saving the innocent with his trusty sidekick. Me!” The darkness asked
“Depends. You going to stop me?” Edward asked back knowing well that he couldn’t feel any pain.
“No, I'm not. You’ve done what you needed to do boy. It's only right that you reunite with her Edward.”
Edward smiled. “That’s the first time you said my name.”
“Don’t get used to it. I’ll see you in the next life my friend.”
With those final words. Edward turned his gun to himself pulling the trigger, finally killing him, allowing himself to be reunited with Olivia ending our story.
