Lying in bed eyes wide open, Paul turned to look at June. Fast asleep, Paul thought, She must've been exhausted. Wrapping his hand around her waist, Paul pulled himself closer to her. Paul's gaze soft and watchful, remained wide awake. Looking at June's closed eyes, his heart filled with affection as he absently ran his hand through her hazel-cloured hair. Slowly opening her eyes, June tucked her head under Paul's chin. Wrapping her hand around Paul's waist, June said"You're like a big teddy bear." As Paul chuckled, he held June closer. The silence was deep, as June fell back asleep. Holding her tightly, the world outside didn't matter at that point. All that mattered was the safe serene bubble around Paul and June. Looking at June again Paul questioned if they could ever stay just friends.
