The Realm of gods

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

I was sent flying high into the air.

Those brief 10 seconds that I was in the sky had ripped all my skin off and left me with nothing. I was headed for one of the many sharp trees. I knew it was the end.

My body went splat against the tree, but my soul kept going until it landed in a pond.

I slowly got up and looked around. Nothing, my eyes saw nothing, I felt nothing, and I was nothing. But the pond started healing me.

All around was desert, a desert without heat or cold.

“You’ve made it. Well, actually, you died and came here. So, saying you made it is inaccurate. Well, congrats. This is the Realm of Gods, but most call this the realm of the fallen. You can call me Ed.” [Ed]

Ed looked very tired. His green hair was uncombed, his green robe was dirty and wrinkled, and his eye had huge bags under them. His condition was very poor.

“It’s a good thing that you came. I’ve stayed awake for a very long time waiting for you. Now let me explain what you got to do. You need to cross the Desert of the fallen. Every grain of sand is a life that was lost, a building that was destroyed, and gods who couldn’t escape their fates. Whatever you do stay on the brick road.” [Ed]

Ed slowly started turning into sand and his speech also sped up.

“At the end of this road, is a temple that holds the key to becoming a God. I don’t have much time but watch out for the Damned. They will try to drag you into the sand.” [Ed]

Ed disappeared into nothing, leaving me stumped.

“Rest in peace, people of the orphanage and elder of these dying sands. Let your souls depart in peace.” [Lyves]

And with that I started my long journey.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This quote was very true in this situation.

Every step brought me closer to my destination.

Occasionally I met other people who beckoned me to step into the sand to enjoy their food, or games, or even clothes. They all looked like nice people, and they offered many things. But these things were traps to lure others into the sand.

After walking this path for many years, I assume, I finally saw a giant temple. It was made of huge blocks of black stone, and surrounding this black temple was a moat of lava. Something was in the lava, but it didn’t stop me from getting close to the castle. When I arrived near the castle, the draw bridge lowered and allowed me to enter.

Inside the castle was a small table holding a small ball. I cautiously walked over to the ball and held it.

Inscribed on the ball was:

{What you see is what you want to see. But what you need is what you don’t see. To be better than a human, one must see past what they are and understand that they are…}

On the table it said, ‘Answer the question. You only get one try, failure is death’.

I looked inside the ball and saw 2 of me facing off in an intense battle. They were nearly identical, but each one of them had a subtle difference. One had a gold and blue eye, and the other one had a gold and red eye. Each held a short sword, intending to kill each other.

The red eye me hacked down upon the blue eyed me, but blue deflected each blow with ease. And when blue attacked red, red blocked it easily. They circled and moved in sync. Attack, Block, Attack, Block. They were in a stalemate until the blue fell down saying that he was injured. Red slowly approached him and raised his sword, but when raised his sword blue swung his sword and chopped of red’s head. Sadly, blue couldn’t escape his impending doom, because red’s sword fell and impaled him. Both of the clones lay dead on the battlefield, and the orb zoomed out to show the words: Wants bring conflict, desire brings hate, hate brings love, and love is the truth we all wish to seek. They grew up with something but died with nothing.

“Hm. To live with something but die with nothing. That’s not true. Not everyone is born with something, some of us are born with nothing and die with nothing. This could only mean one thing.” [Lyves]

I walked up to the table and answered in the clearest voice. “Nothing. I’ve always wanted to be something. I would give any chance to be that something, but I’ve always knew that I was nothing.” [Lyves]

Ding

The orb in my had made a slight noise, and something flew out of the orb. It was a smaller golden orb.

When the orb entered me, I felt myself changing for the better.
