The Golden Orb

The Golden Orb

The orb entered my soul body. It revived my old body with astonishing speed. First my organs regenerated, next my bones regenerated, then my tendons and skin regenerated.

I looked exactly the same before I hit the sharp tree.

The orb entered my heart and reinforced my body, giving me unnatural strength, speed, and defense. My blood also turned gold and silver.

The orb then continued moving up until it merged with my brain. My brain was filled with long scriptures and rules.

Rule#1: Do not slaughter lots humans. (more than 1 million)

Rule#2: Do not change the world’s fate.

Rule#3: Be awesome.

The rules were very simplistic. I didn’t quite understand the world fate, but the third rule was my favorite.

The next thing that appeared was the god’s manual.

#1: Being a god is pointless if you have no followers to worship you. That’s how you get stronger btw.

#2: All God’s gain powers relative to what they own.

#3: Gain many followers so that you are ready to fight the devil when he appears.

#4: chances to defeat the devil is 0%, trust my experience. All you have to do is weaken it a little and seal it. Quite difficult.

#5: Have fun. Being immortal is only worth it if you actually do something.

#6: Never question yourself, chances are you will accidently hurt yourself.

#7: Good Luck!

After the manual was imprinted into my brain, I slowly stood up and assessed myself. I looked exactly like I did before coming here, except I didn’t have any close. I stumbled around due to being unfamiliar with this body. After an hour of practice, I finally got walking down and would soon be practicing running and jumping for another hour. After all that warm up I walked to the door behind the table. The door led to another room filled with one treasure chest.

I opened the chest and peeked inside to find a tablet with a few choices on it.

Cry of the Damned, Book of boredom, and Gaze of Weakness.

“Hmm. These all seem like very trashy skills to have, but I guess Gaze of Weakness would be the most effective against others.” [Lyves]

I decided to go with the Gaze of Weakness. When I accepted the book, the book floated out of the tablet and entered my brain.

Gaze of Weakness- Glaring at others causes them to lose strength over time. The longer the gaze the strong this is.

The room flashed, and I found myself outside in a jungle. There was no sand, only trees and normal animals.

I walked to the nearest tree and felt their leaves to check how sharp they were. They were not sharp at all, this must be a normal forest.

I continued walking through the jungle heading to where I thought a human town or city was.

Along the way I saw many creatures like snakes, bears, deer, and fish. There was no threat here in this forest. I guess it’s because of my strong body which I was told was stronger than diamond.

When I was nearly out of the jungle I came upon a group of young people.

“Aww. What’s a cute kid doing here?” [girl 1]

“Must have been abandoned by its parents.” [guy 1]

“We should bring him with us” [older guy]

“Come here little kid. Its okay. My name is Lily.” [girl 1 – Lily]

I stood very still hoping that they found some other random child in the jungle. Sadly, those chances were very low, and they approached me with a moderate speed, which wasn’t anything slower than a jog.

“My name is William. What’s your name?” [older guy – William]

“My name is Lyves. I’m lost. Can you help me?” [Lyves]

Lily handed me a chocolate bar to console me. I was very insulted that they treated me like a child. Nothing felt worse than being an adult trapped inside of a child’s body. I didn’t show my displeasure. Instead I put on a very big smile and devoured the candy.

I have never tasted something so sweet in my life. The orphanage I went to never gave the children sweets, the sweetest things there were the smiles and the apples. I don’t feel sad for what happened there, because its just not on my priority list of things I need to worry about.

The younger guy didn’t seem to like me. He even tried to persuade the others to abandon me here. I thought of killing him off, but I immediately rejected that idea because there were to many witness. I needed them to help guide me out of this huge jungle. Killing one of them would be plain stupid.

Lily forcefully dragged me out of the jungle. I could easily escape from her if I put some effort in, but I kept my façade. It took three hours before we left the jungle. When I turned around to see how big the jungle was, I noticed that it was very small. I must have been walking in circles for a while. A newly promoted god getting stuck in a small forest, how embarrassing.

They led me to their car and happily drove me to city.

“Do you know where we can find your parents?” [William]

“No” [Lyves]

“What are their names?” [William]

“I don’t know” [Lyves]

“Ugh. What do you know?” [boy teen]

“Nothing about them” [Lyves]

When we were done playing a million questions, the boy teen spoke up.

“Lets just dump him off at the police station and let someone else deal with him” [boy teen]

He was really testing his luck.

But we soon approached the beginning of the city.
