CHAPTER 235 RATHER INVISIBLE
In the morning, Nina Morrison wakes up and finds herself sleeping on the bed sofa. Lucien Gray lies
next to her, his arms around her waist tightly.
Nina Morrison pats her head in frustration. She was so tired last night. She just wants to lie down on
the bed for a while. As a result, she sleeps till now.
Nina Morrison lifts her eyes to look at Nelson next to her and sees that he is sleeping soundly. His long
lashes cover his eyes. He is well-behaved and adorable.
Nina Morrison watches Nelson’s peaceful sleeping face. She couldn’t help crying again.
Is he really her child? She has cried so many times, and been despaired so many times. Is it true that
her baby doesn’t leave, but secretly grows up into a beautiful angel?
Lucien Gray also wakes up. He sees Nina Morrison weeping, his lips rest on her eyes, “Why are you
crying? The doctor said yesterday that Nelson is fine.”
Nina Morrison nods and asks Lucien Gray uneasily, “When will the DNA test comes out? Is Nelson
really my son?”
“The report will be available the day after tomorrow.” Lucien Gray looks from Nina Morrison’s eyes to
Nelson’s. The more he looks, the more they look like each other.
Don’t need paternity test. He could be sure that Nina is Nelson’s mother.
They two are talking quietly and Nelson wakes up. His little legs kick off, and then he open his eyes,
looking around helplessly. Staying still for a few seconds, Nelson lets out a piercing scream.
Nina Morrison and Lucien Gray almost pounce on him, “Nelson, baby, what’s wrong?”
Nelson’s large, dark, crystalline eyes become dim. There is a big piece of yellow spot on his retina. He
clutches the hands of Nina Morrison and Lucien Gray and cries out in alarm, “Daddy, why don’t you
turn on the light? Nelson is afraid of the dark. Will you please turn on the light?”
His naive crying makes Nina Morrison’s heart ache. The silly boy, he doesn’t know that he couldn’t see
for the moment, and thinks it is because of darkness and doesn’t turn on the light…
Watching Nelson crying and panic, Lucien Gray looks to Nina Morrison for help.
Nina Morrison holds Nelson in her arms, patting him on the back to relax. She explains softly, “Nelson,
good boy, it’s not that the lights aren’t on when it’s dark, it’s your eyes that can’t see for the moment.
After a few days, when your eyes recover, you’ll be able to see the world again.”
Lucien Gray is a little surprised that Nina Morrison says the truth directly. She explains what has
happened quietly, treating Nelson as an adult with full respect.
Hearing Nina Morrison’s voice, Nelson feels greatly comforted and quiets down. He clutches Nina
Morrison’s cuff and snuggles deep into her arms. “Auntie Morrison, I can’t see you now, will you stay
with me forever?”
“Yes. Auntie will stay with you and read to you and sing to you and cook for you. Okay?” Nina Morrison
strokes Nelson’s soft hair, her heart melts like soft honey.
Nelson’s eyes curve with a childish smile. “If Auntie Morrison accompany me every day, I’d rather C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
always be blind…”
“Don’t say that! Nelson will recover soon!” Nina Morrison blocks Nelson’s mouth quickly to stop him
saying the unfinished unfortunate sentence. Worrying that Nelson might be hungry, she orders Lucien
Gray to ring the bell for his meal.
Breakfast is simple, a bowl of cereal, a boiled egg, a plate of vegetables and a plate of seasonal fruit.
Although not substantial, it’s full of nutrition. Nina Morrison helps Nelson set down the brackets on his
hospital bed, set up the breakfast, and helps him to remove the egg’s shell.
Lucien Gray takes a spoon, and blows the cereal carefully. Nelson sits between them chattering and
laughing. She looks excited and happy. The atmosphere is warm, and Nina Morrison has a illusion that
they are a happy family of three.
Unfortunately, this feeling doesn’t last long, and it is broken by an unexpected visitor. Jasmine Harris
knocks at the door and comes in.
She wears a blackish green skirt, which is the latest custom-made Dior, her makeup is light and decent.
She looks just like a wealthy girl who is tender and well-educated.
