Lern had walked for many hours just to forget what he had done these past years, he wanted none of it. What caused him to go berserk to act as an assassin silently baring his poisonous fangs at his prey.

These questions flooded his mind but it all seemed so far behind him. No one could track him since he had no birth certificate or anything of the likes. So Lern right before passing out decided that this would be a new beginning for him.

*The next morning*

Maya was on the way home after an all nighter at the clinic. For some reason there were more emergency cases this monday than all of this week combined so naturally Maya was annoyed to say the least, not only because of the lost sleep but because she had planned a date with her co-worker and soon to be boyfriend, unfortunately these plans crumbled under the lack of sleep and lost motivation after so much work.

Maya could be considered a clumsy person and as all clumsy people have been foretold to do. She stumbled on something and this something was none other than Lern, so not only had she had a long day but she now found a presumably dead child on the streets.

After a bit of poking around she noticed that the boy wasn't dead but just deep asleep. So Maya did what every nurse would do, she took him home and made sure that he was uninjured. What she found out was that the kid dident have any usual human anatomy.

The boy's heart was mysteriously half as big as the usual heart but it still functioned exactly the same as a normal heart but that wasn't all.

His hands were extremely nimble, having the ability to rotate like a windmill something previously ridiculed.

His lungs were smaller than the norm by about 25% but the most suprising part was that they were working at about three times the speed of the standard.

Maya also found some type of core set in the middle of his belly kind of floating there eerily.

She left it at that because she had to many questions and to few answers.

Lern woke up in the middle of the night in a nice and comfy bed with a gorgeous woman sleeping on the bedside (puberty starts early)

he wasn't quite aware of how he'd gotten there but he didn't really care. All he could think about was how hungry he was.

Lern had played a kind of game in order to obtain food at the orphanage, the caretakers would throw in food in a room filled with kids and they would battle it out to see who obtained the most food. However after a year or so Lern grew tired of this game he was constantly winning so he made a pact with the biggest bullies that forced them to give him half the food they gathered during their conquest.

Lern apparently woke the woman up when he sat up so now his one special question could be answered.

"When are you going to give me food?"

Maya slowly opened her eyes and checked the situation out and it seemed like the boy woke up before her which was embarrassing to say the least. then he has the nerve to start the day by asking her when he would receive food. So Maya now being a bit ticked of was everything but fond of this short kid, but as every adult knows kids don't always know the significance of good etiquette.

Maya had planned to interrogate him when he woke up but it hadn't gone as planned so now all she could do was salvage the situation best she could.

"Kid, whats your name?"

Lern who in his whole life had never heard anyone ask him about his name was quite surprised but he still answered as best he could.

"Im Lern and im sorry for just asking about food the first thing i did. I mean i dont even know where i am."

quite surprised by this you could see a pair of judging eyes re-evaluating Lern after the introduction.

"Really you dont know hmm, i guess its natural. You're in my home and i carried you all the way from the Burigton street and thats quite a long way you know? Also my name is Maya and i have a proposition for you."

Maya wanted to continue investigating Lern undisturbed but she couldent legally do it without his consent and the best way to get consent is with a white lie.

"The reason you're getting this proposition is because you're in an unusual state that isent often observed in patients so as i work at the hospital department for research i would like you to let me experiment on you. However you wont need to feel anything bad, instead i want you to play a game called Royal Road that is to come out soon. If you accept you'll be allowed to do whatever you want during your time here and in RR, are you fine with that?"

Lern told himself he wanted to start anew and RR seemed like a good opportunity to do so

"Sure but as a counter offer i want you to provide me with shelter and food"

"Deal".

Hey guys, i just found out how stressful it is to constantly feel the need to write at the side of normal activities so my original plan of releasing a chapter each day might change to a chapter a week in order for me not to die because of stress. Sorry 'bout that.

Anyways on to more happy news. I will keep the dark theme of the story a main theme but it wont be all the series is about, this might disappoint some.
