The Meeting_The Chosen's Legacy

Somewhere in the cosmos a meeting is taking place in a room with 12 seats and all but one are occupied. Going around the table some of the individuals seated look unconcerned with being there and are waiting patiently for the last one to arrive. While others aren't as patient and are beginning to get either visibly upset and agitated with having to wait so long for the meeting to start. "Ahhhh I can't take this anymore how much longer do I need to wait for a last minute meeting like this I'm leaving." But just as one of them gets up to leave the doors to the room open revealing two figures.

The first figure is a imposing man who appears to be middle aged with long brown hair and following behind is a less intimidating younger man in a black tuxedo with black hair. "My oh my I apologize for being late I got caught up in something else. But it looks like you have somewhere else to be if you are standing and not seated" the middle aged man says while putting a hand on the shoulder of the individual who stood up to leave. A moment of silence fills the room as all the people in this room know how frightening that man can be and how quick his temper can change. However, this individual doesn't appear to be worried and is staring at the man contemplating how a fight between the two would turn out and quickly coming to the realization a deathmatch right then and there isn't worth it. Taking his seat the two men continue to the empty seat with the middle aged man sitting down and the younger man standing behind him.

The impatient one from earlier speaks out first. "We waited long enough already what is this about for you to summon us all here like this because whatever it must be it must be pretty important. Not only was this called so suddenly but it was also only given to higher up individuals considering who is in this room." A couple of individuals nod in agreement as they to are quite curious what could be so important.

Knowing this is a subject he should get straight to the point with the middle aged man stands up to address everyone present. "You're right Shiva it is important. In fact this might be the most important thing we have done in the past millennia or two." seeing each god other than the young man behind him give either curious or questionable looks back at him he continues to elaborate. "As you all know Earth was a great success in fact it was the best one we had yet! But that still didn't stop it from reaching the point it is now, humans have mainly turned towards science as their answer instead of religion leaving all of us behind as relics of a distant past. I don't blame them after all we took a more passive approach and never tried to reveal our existences to them. In doing so we drove a wedge between them and us and gave them the reason to turn away from us. Which in turn then led us to creating the second version of Earth, Altaris, we improved upon our mistakes this time and made it different in aspects that would be more favorable and more importantly we made it more enjoyable for us to observe, while also being more proactive with our followers there. Giving us the world that has continued to provide us entertainment and a world that continues to have faith in us."

The other gods all look at each other and nod in agreement at what is being said here. Earth was a success but they are no longer really needed or wanted there anymore and it isn't as enjoyable to observe as it used to be. But many of them now that the creation of Altaris was a decision that involved more than just the few gods in this room and if it is something involving that world why aren't the other gods involved there also in this room.

Another god stands up this time to say something gathering everyone else's attention however before he can speak something else speaks up "Old man what is it that you're trying to do then bringing up Altaris. A last minute meeting and bringing up Altaris seems odd tell me, tell us." After those words are spoken a heavy suffocating pressure fills the room all of it emanating from the head of the table but not from the middle aged man but from the young man behind him. "Huginn is right tell us" this time another voice came but it was not the same as before but sounded very similar to the first. "Huginn Muninn be quiet I can always replace you two if need be should an accident occur." The man who stood up quickly silencing the two creatures continues what he was going to say. "Altaris is very different than Earth in a lot of ways yes and it has been more enjoyable for us all. However, I would say that is also starting to go away so what about that world is it that you of all people are mentioning. There is still more to this we need to know." Sitting down after saying his piece all attention returns to the head of the table to see what the middle aged man has to say.

"I can never get anything past you huh Odin. Although I'm sure many of you here thought the same thing but just didn't want to say it" taking a seat and leaning back to look up out of the roof of the room and out into the cosmos the man takes a deep sigh. "It is true I have also been getting bored with that world it is fun but not with how the current flow of things there is no major movements, no major characters that have potential to truly rock that world to its core, no one to really give us the thrill of a good show." Slamming his hands on the table and looking back out at the gods present he reveals a sinister grin one that far and few have ever seen. "I have a proposal for the 11 of you here something that would only require us 12 of the highest gods that oversee that world to do and authorize. I propose we take someone from Earth and send them to Altaris and grant them one wish albeit within reason. But this will give us something to watch something to enjoy and we can see something fun. So what do you all say we have some fun for once!" Sitting back and watching conversations fly back and forth between the 11 other gods.

After some time Odin stands back up and looks over to the man at the head of the table who has been waiting for this moment "I don't know what lead you to this kind of idea Zeus but we will vote on it, all in favor stand up those not stay seated." After Odin finished talking the first to stand was Shiva "Old man this might be the best idea I've heard in a long time. I'm game, I'll play along with your plan." The two next to Zeus stand up as well, the one on the left with long black hair and appears younger than Zeus. "Although you may be the youngest of us three brother and even we don't know what this is that you're trying to do but we've gone along with what you've said till now and won't stop now." After that each god stands up all unanimously voting to move forward with Zeus's plan.

Taking a seat again Zeus sits back and once again stares back up at the roof and out to the vast cosmos but this time with the same sinister grin on his face excited for the future and what entertainment there will be. "Good then lets start right away shall we!"

I see nothing, I hear nothing, I feel nothing, I don't know what is going on. Am I dead? If I'm dead how did I die? Why can't I remember what happened?

"Welcome oh poor lost soul. That's what I'm supposed to say right. Ahem oh so unfortunately you are dead due to my error and so we have chosen you to be reincarnated in a new world and grant you one wish. Within reason though of course."

Finally being able to see again what greets my eyes are a bunch of people in a room all staring at me weirdly. "Excuse me first who are you? Second is this just a really bad dream? If so then I'd like to wake up now." I can't understand anything that's going on this sounds like a really stereotypical light novel intro. Maybe I've just been reading too many light novels lately that must be it.

"I don't get it I said exactly what anyone who reads those light novels wishes to hear so why are you so confused you're dead! I killed you, was it on accident maybe maybe not. But you're dead and I did some tinkering to your soul to make sure you'd forget how you died and that you died also took away all the leftover pain you'd feel still so really you should be thanking me."

Looking back over to the old man who I still don't know how it is but it must be God since who else could do this but I didn't realize God would be like this. More importantly I really am dead and the person or God that killed me is right in front of me but I've been forced to not feel anything.

"For a good reason too most people panic right after they die and get consciousness again."

I'm not saying anything out loud yet he is still responding to me perfectly like he can read my mind. Let me pinch myself and see if that does anything. Annnd I can't feel my arms great so I can't do that. Please let this just be a really bad dream and not stuck in a room with a mind reading God.

"Unfortunately I have to disappoint you there this is very much real and you are very much so dead. Like I said though earlier you aren't really dead since we are gonna reincarnate you so you get a second chance at life. Not on Earth but that's not important, what is important is that you get to live again hooray exciting right!"

I still can't believe what I'm hearing but I guess I have no choice but to go with it. Does it suck to be dead yeah I feel something maybe not sure but if I could I probably would be sad. "Anyways who are you old man and where am I and who are all of those people?"

"Hmmm well I unfortunately can't tell you where we are but what I can tell you is I am Zeus a God you might know from Earth however, that's not the only world where I am a God. To answer your next question the people behind you are various God's from Earth as well and they are here to see you and observe for now." As he looks behind my shoulder at the others I turn around to see some nod and some look at me curiously. "But this is going on for a little long so I'm gonna have to cut those short everyone come here before we send him on his way to Altaris." At his words the other Gods all approach me. "Listen here like I said you are being reincarnated think of one reasonable wish we can grant you and if it is acceptable then we'll send you on your way."

"Acceptable as in nothing that could end the world or give me an indestructible body or immortality. Well that's no fun but alright can I ask one question before I make my choice." I hear some groans and see some unpleasant looks that I'm not choosing already. But some nods and quick words of agreement and I see that I'm allowed to ask. "What is the world I'm going to like?"

"Can't tell you much other than it's very similar to those fantasy light novel worlds with a system that's it now make your choice I can't tell you anything else without it being your wish since it takes away from the fun."

Alright quick something within reason they can read my mind or at least Zeus can but back to the wish within reason what is a good wish that will help me but still be within reason. "I want to keep my knowledge from Earth, what I have learned and be able to recollect whatever I have learned but to put limiters on it so you don't turn it down make me unable to spread the knowledge of Earth's modern weapons through the system you should be able to make sure I can't share the dangerous knowledge that would greatly alter the worlds fundamentals as a whole. That is my wish."

Some Gods look visible displeased that a human is attempting to play them like this. But they all look to Zeus for the final judgement as this is his idea. "Hmmm you drive a hard bargain kid but I like it it sounds fun. We will make you system bound to never be able to share dangerous information to others of the world. You will be unable to say anything the system will determine as dangerous information. Now go give us the entertainment we seek. Also be sure to enjoy our little gifts."

With those last few words light fades and I return to void of darkness. There is nothing. I once again feel nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing. I wonder how much time it has been? So many questions that need to be answered but those can be for another time I feel tired I'll close whatever eyes I have and sleep. I'm still hoping this was just a bad dream.
