EP 67 The Necromancer‏

Ire Farcatcher, known by many as Pain, was once a slave to the Fire Kingdom. A slave of which he didn't know. For he thought he was simply living a horrid life. They were never called slaves within the Fire Kingdom because such a word carried a distasteful image throughout the plains. And Fire King Solo Windhammer refused to have such a word bouncing about in his kingdom.

When it came to rumors of young boys and girls beaten to work, that was something King Solo could handle—preferably something for him to hide. He and his loyal servants were talented in hiding the truth, but now uncertainty plagued his kingdom. He and his fellow retainers face a strenuous dilemma. A dilemma regarding his immortality, for it was a lie.

King Solo lost his chance at perfect immortality due to his ego and need for celebration. The God Item: Infinity was lost during a sudden disturbance in the form of a dragon amidst his ceremony. The item was a dense silver orb that lost its way in the middle of the dragon's attack and rolled into the hands of Pain—granting him immortality.

In his rage, King Solo imprisoned and tortured Pain in hopes that the boy would renounce his will to live, thus allowing the God Item: Infinity to reappear somewhere among the plains. After three years of agony, Pain was granted freedom by a phenomenon called the 7th Luck.

With his newfound freedom, Pain sought to live on his own. But at the start of his journey, he was stricken with vampirism, barring him from living among his fellow kinans. So Pain decided to live alone. In his strife, he began to question the law of the land. He became enraged by the nature of kinans and renounced his race.

A new goal appeared before Pain, and he sought to achieve it. He wasn't entirely sure if he could, but his mind could not forget her. Back in his tormented days of living within the Fire Kingdom, Pain had made one friend each year but also lost a friend each year.

The last friend he lost was a cheerful and optimistic girl named Locness. Pain loved her more than his past friends. It was because of her pure nature that Pain felt the plains were unjust. With his newfound powers in necromancy, Pain set out to find a way to bring her back. She was a good person. She did not deserve to die in such a way. She was his friend, and why would anyone befriend him? A quick-to-anger boy with a revengeful heart?

That was why Pain was so fond of her. It took three years of torture, facing reality, and living on his own to finally understand who he was and what he stood for. If that was his faith, then he decided to spend it with those who cherished his company, including the new bonds he made—Mac, Clifford, and Abimelech.

A massive plot of land now sits underneath Pain's nose. A land that was once plagued by an open skill book—Soul Harvest. With Pain's immortality, he was able to withstand the deathly effects and claim the skill book and its power for himself.

But as Pain unconsciously slept in the arms of a broodmother, events among the plains began to unfold. Many were because of Pain's past actions—the slaying of Grungir and his Iron Knights, removing the open book Soul Harvest, bringing ruin to the Dagon City, and slaying Master Cain, the Executioner of the Fire Kingdom.

As Pain continued to slumber in a disturbed and unpeaceful manner within the arms of a broodmother, adventures of great prestige traveled the lands in search of a missing party.
