The Blighted Oath
The Origin (2)

The Origin (2)

With a deep breath, Wip continued his revelation to Maddie. His voice carried a weight of solemnity as he began to speak.

"In the aftermath of the conflict, as demons, humans, and angels lived in close proximity, a curious phenomenon occurred. Beings of mixed heritage, neither wholly demon, angel, nor human, were born into existence. These half-breeds, considered impure by the purist standards of the original races, faced discrimination and marginalization. Touched by the plight of the impure half-breeds and recognizing their suffering, the mighty being took pity on them. In an act of benevolence, he created a new realm called the Eternal Damned. Within this realm, the impures found sanctuary and a place where they could thrive without judgment, forging their own unique culture and society."

Maddie was shock at hearing about the existence of the Impures and their realm. She had lived her life as a demon and now as an angel without any knowledge of their existence, and now, this revelation had ignited a deep curiosity within her. The idea of an entirely unknown world and its inhabitants intrigued her greatly.

"As the Lucifer of that era grew increasingly furious over the perceived injustice of sharing their world with humans while the half-breeds were given their own realm, they appealed to the mighty being. The Metatron appealed too because they were no longer allowed to the heavens and must stay in the world to watch over humans. The anger and discontent of the two races were evident, and they demanded an explanation for the mighty being's actions. In response, the mighty being proposed a challenge to Metatron and Lucifer: prove that his decisions were wrong. He decreed that every 500 years, a tournament would be held among the races, excluding the humans who were considered weaker. The first tournament's victor was the demon race. And the ultimate prize of the tournament would be a wish granted to the winning race."

"So, he got the wish? What did he wish for?" Maddie can no longer held back her excitement and curiosity.

Wip nodded in agreement as he continued with his narration, "However, instead of creating separate realms for each race, the demon leader of that era chose a different path. He used his newfound power to erase the existence of humans and send the angels back to the heavens. The mighty being, disappointed with this outcome, intervened and reversed what that Lucifer had done, much to the anger and frustration of the Metatron and Lucifer, who accused the mighty being of unfairness. Realizing that true harmony among the races was an unattainable dream, the mighty being decided on a radical course of action. He tore open a dimensional rift within the original Demon Realm, fragmenting it into three distinct dimensions. In each dimension, the demons were stripped of their physical forms, existing only as ethereal, astral beings. This fate befell the angels as well, forever separating them from the mortal world."

Maddie fell into deep contemplation, her mind filled with thoughts of her actions earlier and the consequences they had brought about. The parallels between her current situation and the first tournament were too striking to ignore, and she couldn't help but wonder if there was a deeper connection between the two events. As Wip continued to narrate, Maddie listened intently, hoping to find some insight or guidance in the story.

Wip's ethereal voice continued to weave the narrative, sharing the history and details of the past that only the privileged ones knew.

"Now, the Demon Realm, once a singular domain of darkness and chaos, had been torn into three fractured dimensions. The mighty being withdrew to the heavens, distancing himself from the cosmic turmoil he had set in motion. The impure half-breeds found solace in the Eternal Damned, free from the prejudice of their parent races. And thus, a world divided into four realms persisted, each with its own unique inhabitants and challenges, forever shaped by the choices of the mighty being."

"I see... So we share a singular realm. But what happened to the tournament?" Maddie asked.

"The half-breeds were not content with the perceived favoritism towards the weaker humans. Utilizing their physical bodies, the half-breeds launched a devastating attack on the humans. Unable to physically touch the half-breeds, the demons and angels resorted to possession. By inhabiting the bodies of humans, they were able to channel their powers and successfully defeat the half-breeds. Recognizing that the half-breeds posed a significant threat, the mighty being made the decision to seal them away to prevent further chaos. To celebrate the unity that had formed between the three remaining races, the mighty being facilitated another tournament where all three races could participate. The reward for the tournament victors was a wish, but this time, the wish came with restrictions, ensuring that the balance of power was maintained and that no single race would dominate the others unchecked."

As Wip concluded his narration, Maddie found herself enlightened. The knowledge she had gained about the Impures and their realm, combined with the parallels she had drawn between her past and present actions, had given her a newfound perspective and understanding of her role in the unfolding events. She felt a sense of purpose and determination to make amends and find a way to bring balance and unity, not only among the races but also between the two realms.

With a resolute expression, Maddie turned to Wip and said, "Thank you for sharing this with me. I now see that there is a path forward, one that involves rectifying my past mistakes and forging a better future. I'm ready to embrace this challenge and work towards bringing about the balance and unity we discussed."

Wip nodded in agreement, as he reverted to his ethereal form shimmering with a sense of approval.
