Christopher Pennanalet grimaced as he looked at the news story playing. A fairly attractive man stood with his back to a ruined street, Cars bowled over, craters in the ground, even a house with a large hole in the wall decorated the scene. The newscaster was still trying to explain the situation.
“We are getting many different versions of the story Candice,” The reporter on scene told the news anchor. “From what people are saying the general consensus was that there was an entire gang fighting a singular man! As unlikely as it is, that is what people are saying.”
“Well Jameson what happened to the street? It looks like a hurricane blew through!”
“That's the craziest bit Candice, people are saying the singular man won!”
“Well that doesn't quite seem possible… how do they say he won?”
“That’s where the stories start to very, Some are saying he was throwing grenades and shooting high caliber guns, while others are saying that the destruction was the end result of a singular fight between just two men!”
“What kind of fight could leave that kind of damage? That street looks more like a warzone than an urban street! I’m not sure it would look like that even if they were throwing grenades around.”
“About that, while we did get some reports of explosions we actually found someone with some phone camera footage they were willing to part with! We sent it over to the studio in a few minutes and they should be able to put it up soon.”
The two newscasters continued to talk about various details, property damage and casualty rates(several million and none) making an appearance before the aforementioned video was ready to be displayed. Christopher had a sinking feeling he already knew had happened, after all the same thing had nearly happened to him in a back alley when he was lifting a motorcycle.
The screen behind the news anchor flicked away from the street decimated by a combat, to the exact same street at night. The view was shaky at first but quickly leveled out. The video showed a tall man in a mask surrounded by cars. The video stabilized just in time to watch one of the car doors be kicked open and a man to jump out.
The screen was far out enough that you couldn’t see any details, but the two men seemed to talk, this part seemed sped up going by the rate of arm movements. The recording slowed down suddenly, the man who had come out of the car jumped back, and he was suddenly holding a gun, he fired twice and they were off like shots, the cameraman actually flinched back when they started turning into blurs.
Chris could only grimace when a car was folded like taffy, he sat down heavily as the gangster man bounced off the ground like a basketball. When the Gangsters arm turned into a semi automatic Christopher just shut the TV off. There was no hiding it anymore, the helicopter attack could be written off as someone with a rocket launcher or something similar there was no way of getting around this incident. It might take a couple of weeks but people would realize what was happening soon.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
The smart and gullible ones would be convinced after that, it could have been AI or something but with that degree of accuracy to the scene they would realize soon. There were people with superpowers out there. And worse the only known example was a criminal. Chris had to find others, he could only hope they weren't all as bad

Mariko Miyako ducked into an alley, she pushed her back to a wall shivering as the cold overtook her. Three boys and four girls ran past her hiding spot without so much as a glance thrown her way. These days they never did, at least they didn’t while she was trying to hide anyway. She had only realized her gift less than two weeks ago. The gift of Tsukuyomi was truly a great one. Mariko let out a breath as she pushed out of the wall a wave of warmth flowing over her.
As she began to walk home she pulled her phone out of her school issued jacket pocket and opened a video making app. Now that was a well choreographed fight scene! Mariko wondered what show it was for, the camera work was excellent; it perfectly portrayed a scared citizen recording from their window! It wasn’t until she had watched three videos on the exact same fight that she suspected something might be wrong, specifically when there was a very real newscaster standing in front of the same street shown in the video, right down to the crumpled car and bashed in wall.
As soon as Mariko reached home she took off her shoes and ran up stairs to her computer. As soon as she found the original video she watched it, mouth loosened with shock, there was another one, someone blessed like her! He must be blessed by Kagutsuchi if the fire he was throwing around was an indicator.
Someone blessed by the gods and they chose to use it like this! She needed to stop him, and if there were already two, that probably meant there was more, she just needed to find them and get them to help.

The smoke of a forge billowed through the treetops as the sound of a hammer hitting metal rang through the clearing. It was an odd craft in today's day and age, blacksmithing that is, but Cassey Blitherold enjoyed it. It was relaxing in a way, the steady beat of metal against metal, iron slowly molding into shape under her guiding hand.
As the candle stick slowly took shape she sighed in relief, the sound drowned by the hiss of quenching metal. Setting her work aside she walked the short distance to her home, just a dozen odd steps, and through the door to flop onto her couch and flick the TV on.
She flipped through various channels to find something to watch, unfortunately so far from the city she got poor internet. When she finally reached a news channel it was playing a story about some gang fight in the big city. The video is what really caught her attention, specifically the honest to god fireballs being thrown, she just knew she would be getting a ca- The phone ringing confirmed her suspicions the moment she had them. Picking up the phone she hit the ‘Accept’
“Special Agent Blitherold.”
“Yessir?”
“You’ve been assigned a new case.”
“Judging by the images on the news right now I can hazard a guess as to what it's about.”
“Ah, yes incident case #006”
“There have been that many other incidents already?”
“That's just what we know of Special Agent Blitherold. We have evidence that says we might never find the other ones.”
“Well… That's certainly not good, I assume you want me to come into The Office for this one?”
“Affirmative.”
“Yessir Deputy Director Iornlo.”
The only confirmation Cassy got was the click of the line going dead. She reluctantly stood up and walked to the door, reaching for her car keys, she was so focused that she didn’t even notice her keys slide that little bit closer so she wouldn’t miss her grab.

John Doe walked hastily down the street, briefcase in hand. He had a very important meeting to get to! He didn’t notice the kid in the rags until he bumped into it.
With a sneer John pushed the dirty child away snarling some insult he wasn’t too focused on at the filthy thing that had interrupted him. If John had spared even a moments glance towards the child, a young boy, he might have been surprised by the sheer H̶̻͋ą̸́t̴̺̅e̵͓͑ in the child's vibrant purple eyes.
John would never think of the child again, until his final moments, the ones where spears of blood red crystal pierced out of every orifice in his body with agonizing slowness, the moments where as his boss watched as the man was turned into a bloody cactus struggling to even scream at the pain he was in.
All the while purple eyes and white tipped hair stared up, through the buildings floors and walls, from the ground floor of the building .
