I asked Chris to come with me to check out the mansion but it seems like he drank too much and was pulled in by the gravitational pull of his bed.

The mansion was outside Central city so when I was outside the city walls, I started walking.

Following a footpath I made a turn entering a small forest. They said the forest was part of the land I own, after a few minutes I finally saw a 2-storey house and was as wide as 2 basketball courts and also had a small storehouse.

There was a broken fountain on the entrance and the flower was all wilted, the house was in worse shapes although the walls and roof were still sturdy the insides looked like a storm just passed by.

"Thia is gonna need some intense remodeling.... " I sighed and started cleaning.

I took out small meal box I prepared earlier and ate my lunch after taking out all the trash inside the house, afterwards I used [aqua stream], and [jet stream] to clean inside the house, after some intense scrubbing the interior was now much cleaner but the broken windows and exhausted light stones used as light inside the house were still not replaced and then there's still the flower garden, broken fountain, and the wasted storehouse.. I also have to build a wall so wild animals won't come in... For now, I'll raise a few [earth wall] here and there.

It was already dark when I finished so I quickly went home, the next day I went to the blacksmith to have a few types of furniture custom made

"Master! "

"Oi, the champion is here! whatcha need" He replied while laughing out loud

"I need some stuff made... " I said as I handed out the designs and explaining them

"Kid, these might take a month is it ok?"

"I was planning to go home anyway for the break anyway so it's fine"

I went behind the dorm building and brought out the carriage I used to get here and made improvements such as springs so that the ride back home would be smooth and comfortable, also I expanded the carriage so we can each have a room to sleep in but... The carriage would be too large by then... So I bought 2

more carriage and turned it into a something like a train.

I then looked for a beast tamer with a beast strong enough to pull the train carriage I made to be the coachman.

The next day I brought Mira and Arachne outside the city walls after saying our farewells to everyone, we met with the coachman and after I brought out the carriage we went on our way.

My effort to make Arachne's room was wasted because every night she would always sleep beside me so I let the coachman sleep there instead, along the journey we only chatted and luckily there were no bandit raids to stall us so after 2 weeks we got home peacefully.

When we were at the Timberwolf castle gates Arachne was so nervous she kept pacing back and forth, the gates opened and both mom and dad were there to welcome us.

Mom quickly ran and hugged me then, Mira, and finally, she looked at Arachne before saying

"We finally meet Arachne! Come give me a hug" she opened her hands and pulled Arachne into her embrace.

"Uhn, good taste son "dad said as he nodded.

"Oh, Lyan did Arachne's mother come?"

Mom asked and afterwards, the mood turned a bit gloomy

"Oh... I'm sorry Arachne, I didn't know"mom quickly apologized

"It's fine... I never really got to meet her"Arachne only smiled

"*sigh* guess it's time.... " I said

"Time for what?"Mom asked

"Let's go inside first"

"Hmm ok then"

After we moved to the living room everyone took a seat as I started to tell the story of how I met Arachne and her mom...

"You did good Lyan" mom said as she sobbed.

I took out something from my magic bag and moved in front of Arachne, I placed a necklace with a red ruby held in place by 4 claws around her neck while placing a pair of fang earrings on her hands

"This ruby... Is actually your mom's magic stone and those two fangs are hers... "

She looked at the ruby and hugged it tight while sobbing, mom wiped her tears and personally put the earrings in Arachnes ear

"You must cherish these"mom said as she hugged Arachne to calm her down.

We threw a small banquet for my return and me winning the Battle Royale competition, dad kept bragging in front of his friends and subordinates while Arachne, mom, and Mira all chatted happily with the women... Me? Well like the last banquet I was stuck entertaining the young women.

Dad wasn't content and asked his subordinates to bring out the Magic cube and replay my fights, he kept replaying the moment where I smashed the last member of the Warriors of light while laughing along with the crowd. Seems like everyone here hates the believers of light religion.

The next morning was quiet... Well, most of the noisy men were smashed on their beds and had a splitting headache, so I went to our own private training ground to practice a few skills I made up.

I have the [dragon rush] that allows me to teleport to my enemy but what if I want to run away from one?, so I must create a movement skill. I concentrated lightning energy underneath my feet and was able to produce some lightning snakes that carved the ground, this was a good start now to turn up the notch! I cast [lightning strike] on a spot using my feet and unexpectedly it only reached halfway... Did use too little mana? That shouldn't be it... Hmm well since I'm too lazy to think about it lets just say that it's my first time so surely I would make a few mistakes, I'll get used to it... Probably

After a few more tries, I started getting used to it but now the real challenge begins.. I have to ride that lightning to the spot where I fire it off to.

First try... Nothing happened

Second try... Well, I moved... By 1 inch..

Third try... Used too much mana and burned my leather boots

Fourth try...low mana soo lets take a break

As I was drinking some coffee I analyzed my previous attempts, thinking of my mistakes and correcting them..

After my break, I tried again but this time I only moved halfway the target, now there's some progress right there.

Then I kept trying for an hour but in the end, I still always end up halfway the target, but then I had thought of something, I think I know why I always end up halfway so now I'm gonna try the idea I came up with.

Instead of [lightning strike] that uses mana in one go, why not make it continuous? Like that of [jet stream] and [flame stream]? Using the mechanics from both the skills I made another skill. Let's just call it [lightning stream], now with the use of [lightning stream] direct it to a spot... And ride it...

In that exact moment lightning formed on my feet and pushed me to the spot I targeted, it worked! Now with this, I can move to different spots as fast as lightning! I only need to fix the mana usage... It sucks out a bit too much...

And came another problem... Everyone only knows I use two elements so I'll just use fire instead and use lightning when there are not many people around.

I used [flame stream]with my feet and thanks to my earlier mistakes I quickly mastered the movement skills I call [storm dash] and [flame eruption].

It was lunch when I was done so I went to the dining room, luckily they were about to call me so we all had lunch together.

A week has passed since then and in this week I didn't slack off, instead I kept training my movement skills perfecting them when I can.

"Lyan come with me for a bit "Dad came and said after my training.

"Sure dad" I replied as I wiped off the sweat from my face.

We arrived at my parent's room and entered, he sat on the bed and told me

"2 days from now an undead horde will attack" dad said seriously

"What?! "I was surprised, a war was on our doorsteps... I better get prepared

"You are coming there with me but you will only be watching"

"... But why? "

"You will be joining the war in the future so I want you to observe and learn how to adapt to different situations"

It's true that during war everything constantly changes.. So he will take me for a learning experience...

"Those are the undead's miasm, it's very poisonous so we eat these herbs before engaging"dad showed me a leaf which looked like the leaf of a maple except it was blood red color, a simple anti-poisoning herb

"There's enough of these to last us years so we're still good"

"Where did you get them? " Those herbs may be common but they're only common in the plains not in the forests.

"Hey, you forgot we also have a few herb plantations! "

"Oh yeah... "

"Hey, Ryan don't scare the kid! " Margaret said like she lost a prey

"Heh, too bad for you but you're not up to his tastes, he got 2 girlfriends who are muuuuch more good-looking than you" dad said

"What?! " everyone was surprised

"Heh, look outside later you might see 'em" dad said as he laughed.

So the strategy was to use the split as the last line of defense, 3 teams will defend north, east, and west while archers and mages above the mountain will provide support.

Raigor was general the of 3000 men, the defenders they were all composed of vanguards.

Binro was the general of 3000 men made up of 1600 archers and 1400 swordsmen, they were the attackers.

Margaret was a general of 2000 men composed of 1900 mages and 100 healers they are the support team.

All in all, it was an army of 8000 men, but our enemies tomorrow will number up to 20000 also we severely lack healers... But dad said they managed to get some alchemists to make them some potions which can help relieve some stress off the healers.

After eating dinner we all slept in our respective tents but Arachne snuck into my tent and slept with me... I don't know why but I feel like I'm gonna have a nightmare later

In my dreams it was dark but I heard something tear open and screams of agony came out of it, it only kept growing till a familiar reaper came out of it... Grimm.
