As the final screen appeared then faded out, a strange energy suffused my body and I felt I knew the Atlas and how to shift between the anchored universe and the Atlas’s pocket universe. After the shock of seeing a man stabbed and dissolving in front of my eyes, I felt that some homely comfort was exactly what I needed.
Shifting over to where I was before everything went down, I find myself a few meters to the side, where the old owner of the Atlas was. Seeing as there’s no-one around, I shrug mentally and continue through the alleyway on my way home. Nothing exciting happens as I walk the remaining few minutes. I reach my apartment building, climb to the third floor and enter my apartment. A pretty lacklustre place, sparsely furnished by ikea and cheap things I could pick up that gives my place a ‘broke student’ look. Mostly white or cream coloured matched with light woods, it’s nothing special.
I reach into the fridge and take out one of the few remaining colas, before jumping onto my bed and pulling out my phone. Wasting time scrolling through social media and watching random videos, I finish the cola and decide to just sleep for a bit.
