Prologue - Snatched from the pitiful reality known as existence

'BEEB BEEB BEEB'

"Uggggggggghhhhhh"

Awakening to the noise from which one can only assume to have originated in hell, I slowly open my eyes before picking up the dreaded annoyance that is my alarm clock and flinging the blasted contraption at the wall.

As I lift my body up, I prepare for the trial of yet another day experiencing the pitiful reality known as existence.

"Why won't it just end"

I mutter to myself in slight annoyance, I drag myself half way across my bedroom before stopping and looking in the mirror.

Staring back at me is a middle aged woman around 45, her plain brown waist length hair covers a slightly chubby frame, as I stare into her face I can't help but feel disgust at her features. Thick eyebrows hover over uninteresting brown eyes with a nose that can only be compared to an owls beak, lips in a perpetual frown with lines indicating a lifetime of unhappiness.

Pulling myself away from the reflection I stumble over empty bottles of alcohol and towards my phone, its been flashing red for some time now, pressing the button I read the text.

'Twenty-two missed calls'

Seeing as the only people to call me are my landlord or my psychiatrist I pray it's the former before checking my call history.

"Fuck"

I decide I may as well call him back, although I already know what this will be about, I push the call back option and wait for a total of a second before it picks up.

"Maria, thank God do you know how many times I called you?" the doctor asks as though my phone doesn't notify me. "well now that you've decided to grace me with your call, what do you have to say for yourself? We've been seeing each other for five years now and you seem to only have gotten worse, do you honestly want me to re-admit you"

"No Mr. Angelo, I have no desire to be put back in the ward" I huff out in annoyance

He pauses before he replies " Well good, I've made you an appointment to come and see me in an hour, I'm sure you know the consequences of not attending miss Young?"

Bastard "Of course I know the consequences I'll see you in an hour" clicking him off before he can say anything else I think back to why I had to begin therapy in the first place.......

'40 years before...'

A young girl is drawing a picture in a white room, a man large as a house with plain brown hair matching the girls own, steps into the room reeking of alcohol, the girl looks up with eyes dead to the world as the man picks her up and puts her on the singular bed in the corner of the room he slowly starts to undress, a woman stands in the doorway, hair bleached blonde she looks on disinterest in the crime against nature that's about to begin.

She informs the man "Dinner will be ready in an hour" before shutting the door, the tap tap tap of her heels can be nearly felt as she leaves.

The man having turned to watch the woman then returned to the task he was interrupted from before.......

It was another year before authorities were called by a neighbor who reported his neighbors across the street looking into his window, unknown to the officers this man was a severe sufferer of paranoia, a simple check in resulted in the worst crime in a decade to be discovered in the small town.

The couple were soon sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance of parole whereas the young girl was sent to live in a hospital for those with extreme mental health problems, every doctor gave the same diagnoses depression and complete misanthropy.

'Present day.....'

Shuddering at the memory I prepared to leave my home it was only in the last 10 years that I was allowed to leave the hospital under the pretense of making major improvement, now instead of life crippling depression I had bad days and good days, instead of extreme misanthropy......well lets just say that human beings are something that don't deserve to be considered in my opinion, a cockroach is more approachable.

Well time to go to that appointment, don't want to end up a prisoner in some hospital.

As I opened my front door, there was a giant eye staring at me, stunned at the unreality of the situation I admit......I screamed then before I could do anything a giant hand made of what I could only describe as stars and darkness came and grabbed me I felt a squeezing sensation and then nothing.

'Authors note' sorry for the abrupt ending but yeah I'm working out where to go with this got a lot darker than I thought it would in no time at all but ahhh well....never written before this is to pass the time also my laptop is crap, Peace out ;-)
