Among the endless void I floated.......time could be seen passing me by, a kaleidoscope of color in a seemingly endless black.

Insanity had come and gone in the chaotic maelstrom of silence that I suffered broken up by  periods of sobbing and begging for the harshness and stability that reality provided.

"GOD PLEASE LET IT END" I screamed one final time and it did.

The entirety of the black eventually coalesced into a single being whose body was seemingly made up of the vast universe, the swirling of the galaxies, suns, planets....all of it was before me it held its hand up and slowly began to transform.

The beings body in a near instant formed muscles and nerves soon covered by skin and hair, before me stood a man plainer than even myself neither ugly nor pretty but comfortably average his hair a dull shade of gray, his age could have been around 50 however his eyes were almost unfathomable in their agelessness.

"Greetings child, I welcome you to my home" He spoke with a voice that resounded in my mind and echoed across the empty expanse before finally returning to us.

I floated dumbstruck at the sheer beauty of his voice before realizing that he never actually moved his lips.

"Such would not be good for you child, you would shatter out of creation were I to use my true voice although truly I am surprised you endured for so long journeying inside my mind." he frowned

I didn't understand and he knew I.....felt it, it dawned on me that this man must have been God, his smile of amusement actually irritated me slightly at the fact he could obviously read my mind.

"Of course child God is merely one of my infinite names if not the most well known" his response verified my thoughts.

"So...why did you bring me here, why did you leave me for so long?" I asked the anger clear in my voice it was enough time for me to have gone insane a few times so this bastard had some explaining to do.

In response his smile became even greater, there was mirth being emanated at a level from him that I actually felt a bit sickly just witnessing it.

"Why but because I was bored of course, as to why I left you floating endlessly for so long well.......I forgot......"

"You are actually an idiot aren't you?" His look of sadness was even more annoying than his previous happiness "So grabbing people out of their homes is entertaining for you is it?" I again asked with an annoyed scolding voice.

"Actually about that I have a proposition for you" he said with a dangerous smile appearing on his face "Of course if you refuse I can return you back to your home at the exact moment you were taken, however I would ask only that you listen to my idea." the excitement in his........mind-speech thing was strangely enticing.

"I suppose I could listen to you, this better be good though" for some reason I felt intrigued by his.....idea or whatever it was.....it helped that I didn't completely feel disgust from him I wonder why that is.

"I propose a new life for you as a creature thought only myth in your old life in a world where no such creature has existed before" the rush of words with no break in between showed how exciting this was for him I had one question.

"Why?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow

The response I received was one I would never have expected "Because it will entertain me of course, by fulfilling special requirements I have removed you from following a linear path in time....any decisions you make from now on will require me to actively watch you, what greater entertainment can there be for one such as I who knows all from a glance to be left in suspense and or surprise" His sadness at the end made me feel slight pity for him however I had to be sure of something before I agreed.

"Will I be strong"

His smile once again burst forth "But of course my child, but of course given enough time and effort you will have the potential to become the strongest being that world will ever know" 

I nodded my head in acceptance "Then I will agree to your deal" as I said the words I suddenly felt myself start to crumble away, it didn't hurt but was shocking to watch.

He merely watched as I became dust, when the final particles of my former life began to crumble away I heard him say.

"Let the age of  Liorenth begin"

And then the existence known as Maria Young ceased to be.

'Authors note' Yay finally got the first official chapter out would love some reviews this is a practice story for another I plan to write hopefully after chapter 5, any advice is welcome also I make this up on the spot so there may be large mistakes and errors I apologise :-} again peace you lovely people you!
