Chapter 42- Congruence
Morpheus travelled through the dense forest for three days and three nights, mainly encountering only groups of linciln. He ate them the entire time, he had no orc meat left and the young chimera wanted to save his pastries.
Blood Axe of the War Orc began to slowly increase over the past days and the young chimera began to adapt to his surroundings. He copied the lincilt, using the trees to gain an advantage. He mixed Archaic Wings and Arcane Step to bounce around the trees to make an opening on the linciln.

The young chimera was happy with his level ups in the past few days. It was significantly harder to level them which meant it was more of a challenge that he enjoyed.
The sense of peace made Morpheus feel comfortable in the forest, he valued being by himself.
Would you like to evolve active skill- Arcane Step? Y/N
‘Can only get better.’’ Morpheus thought as he suggested yes.
Skill evolution in progress. Stats and achievements have been analyzed.
Skill remains active.
Arcane Blink: Teleport up to a distance of 5m. Mana cost decreases with level increase.
Morpheus smiled, Arcane Blink was something that definitely would come in handy.
The young chimera had been thinking a lot of what stats he would concentrate on. He was thinking of constitution, vitality and possibly endurance. So he could last longer in battle.
Morpheus also wanted to learn magic, but he knew that his attention span was absolutely terrible.
He tested out Arcane Blink, teleporting from tree to tree. Space distorted more and the movement was faster, more clear and precise. He tried it multiple times, trying to perfect the movement with the increased range.
After a while he sat down on a high branch with his feet dangling over the edge. Morpheus lit a cigarette and tucked into a pastry. After a few minutes he felt a little movement on his shoulder and turned his head.
“Hey buddy.”
Fuzz’s eye stared at his face, the shadow had been hiding for the past three days.
Fuzz looked down at the pastry and sent a message that he was hungry. Morpheus quickly pulled out a linciln carcass over the thick branch.
“It’s a delicacy.” He said with a smile.
Fuzz bounced off his shoulder and engulfed the linciln. The shadow didn’t even transform into it and disappeared back in his cloak.
Morpheus sighed, there wasn’t much he could do for the shadow. At least Fuzz was fed.
Morpheus stretched his toned muscles, ready to carry on.
On his map he still had to cross over a large set of mountains to reach Fort Cidra. He was still in the forest which wasn’t named on his map.
The young chimera flew up into the sky and checked his surroundings. Towards the west there was a large area with no trees around, it looked like marshland.
Morpheus headed in the direction and stopped dead at the edge of the tree line and peered out across.
He could see no signs of any creatures, it was a marshland in the middle of a beautiful forest. Pools of water were dotted around the muddy long grass.
Cautiously, Morpheus began to walk through the marshland, careful with every step he took. He held onto the long grass as he tested the pool of water. The water was knee deep and Morpheus felt more safe to investigate.
He climbed out and moved over to a larger pool to splash water in his face. As he stepped in it was much deeper than the other one and he toppled over into it. The cold water sent a shockwave through his body.

He panicked and scrambled up over to the edge and pulled himself up. The water was cold, colder than the other pool.
He dried himself off with his cloak while peering over the pool of water.
It wasn’t his reflection staring back at him. He squinted closer and saw two enormous red eyes glaring at him.

“Oh fuck!”
The whale leaped out the water and swallowed him hole.

Lucifer walked into Dion’s office. He wore a smart grey suit with slicked back dark hair. His face was round yet his facial features sharp and he had a slight stubble growing.
“Ah Lucifer, how are you?” Dion asked
“I’m very well thank you Dion. How’s the new job going?” Lucifer said very politely.
“Good, good. Had a few hiccups with a potential recruit.”
Lucifer raised an eyebrow. “What sort of hiccups?”
“We lost a double marked. Scared him off.” Dion said in defeat.
“What gods?” Lucifer asked.
“Isis and Hercules. He also has the spirit Themetruük.”
“Interesting.” Lucifer said with a rub of his chin.
“A Crownwell was watching him but her cover was blown and the chimera ran.” Dion said.
Lucifer laughed. “A chimera, and you even sent a Crownwell?
Dion kept a straight face.
“Oh you’re not joking? A double marked chimera, that’s a first.”
“That’s why I’m so interested.” Dion said.
“You don’t know where he is?” Lucifer said.
Dion shook his head.
“I feel like a bit of a break anyway. Where did he head off too?” Lucifer asked.
“No idea, he ran during the fucking undead horde.”
“I heard it was a big one. I’ll speak to the Ravens, I have some information to bargain.”
“That’s playing with fire.” Dion said abruptly.
“Fire is useful.” Lucifer said with a grin.
“I can’t afford to hire you, the elders are focusing on dungeon suppression.” Dion said honestly.
“To see a double marked chimera is enough, just don’t put it in the books. If the other branches go digging, your chimera will be snatched up fast.” He said, Lucifer then got up and put his hands on the chair.
“I’m afraid that the others know.” Dion said.
“But they don’t have enough information to bargain with.” Lucifer said, holding up a piece of paper.
“By Zeus, what did you find up north?” Dion asked.
“That would be ruining the value of it, can’t do that Dion.” Lucifer said slightly sarcastically.
“Well good luck anyway, and enjoy your break Lucifer.” Dion said.
Lucifer nodded, he put his hand through his hair and left.

Morpheus tumbled down the throat of the massive gulping whale and splashed into the shallow water in its stomach.
“Ah fucking hell.” He said while spitting out some water.
He was literally in the belly of a beast. It’s stomach was the size of a small house, it was lined with pale skin, which glowed with a slight reddish hue. He could see the rib cage of the whale, huge bones encasing it’s stomach. A pile of corroded swords and weapons were piled up in the back of its stomach.
The whale’s belly rumbled causing Morpheus to lose his balance again, a slightly viscous fluid poured down its throat and mixed with shallow water in its belly.
The fluid touched his trouser leg and it began to corrode the shadow wolf’s hide.
“Ah fuck.” He screamed, as he jumped to the back of its stomach.
Morpheus brought out his axe and began to hack away at its rib cage. Blood Axe of the War Orc barely made a dent, and the young chimera began to panic.
“I just.” He slammed his axe into the lining of its stomach.
“Wanted! A! Fucking! Break!” He screamed.
It was no use, his anger was getting the better of him and he was wasting his time. His eyes darted around, trying to find a way out.
The corrosive fluid began to corrode his trousers again and began to burn his skin. He gritted his teeth and leaped over the fluid. He tried to climb up its throat but it was too slippery and the corrosive liquid lined it, burning his hands and claws as he tried to dig them in.
‘Congratulations’ you have earned the resistance Corrosive Resistance Level (1)
Morpheus ran through what he knew about stomachs, or whales even. He knew there would be some sort of intestines but it would be absolutely disgusting. He quickly wrapped his cloak his neck, trying to protect Fuzz.
“Fuck it, I don’t care.” He said.
He jumped back into the corrosive liquid, now just above his knee. It began to corrode his skin, Absolute Heal managed to counter it, but his mana drained rapidly.
Morpheus felt around with his now bare feet since his boots had fully dissolved. He felt around with his feet trying to find a hole of swords. His big toe had all the skin burnt off it as it slipped into a tiny hole.
He quickly pulled it out in disgust and patted around it with both his feet. Sure enough, it was a hole of sorts.
The whale's stomach rumbled again and even more viscous fluid began to pour down from its throat.
It began to fill up to his waist, burning his genitals and all of his hide trousers. The corrosive liquid touched his pouch, linciln carcasses, his dark elven bow and coins burst out from it. He unhooked it from what was left of his trousers and put it into his mouth.

He rammed the butt end of his axe in the hole and the muscles around it began squirming.
He jammed it in again and began to move it around, trying to get it to open.
With a screech from the whale the hole opened and the liquid began to pour into it. Morpheus grabbed his cloak off his shoulder and rolled it into a ball in his chest. He placed his pouch in the center and dove under the water, with his axe in front of him the hole swallowed him up into the intestines.
Morpheus squirmed his way through the intestines, the liquid burning his whole body.
He gritted his teeth and bounced between the edges. The whale tensed it’s muscles and Morpheus shot out its rectum, pushing him ten feet away.
Morpheus looked around in the water, bulging his eyes then squinting. He looked up but saw nothing, only clouded water. To his left was a rock face. He swam upwards and towards that direction.
He was panicking but still held his breath, adrenaline was still rushing through his body.
He found a gap in the rocks, and without hesitation he swam for it. One hand clutched on his cloak and pouch. Hoping for some sort of cave.
He swam through the gap in the rocks, his body began to convulse due to hypoxia. The gap began to transform into a circular cave. His body began to fully convulse and his eyes rolled back, his hands still clutched onto his cloak, pouch and axe.
