While travelling alone i found out many things about my never ending hunger for souls. I only get this feeling when people or corpses of people are nearby. I can also get souls of animals, but they don't give me stats as I'm D rank in every stat. And from presumption. D rank proficiency in Absorb gives me extra stats or a better chance of getting stats. strangely enough i haven't encountered any other people, adventurers or merchants. Looks like they are avoiding this city why. From the map it looks like quite a big one and in the map it says Heaven for Heaven for ---ters. The map is a bit scratched so I can't fully read for what it is a heaven, but heaven is heaven.
Finally I am reaching the city. The trees look more desolate the nearer I get. And the smell of blood, iron and fire get stronger by the day, Finally I arrive and look to the impressive mighty looking metal gates which have big scratches on them. And the high wall with massive marks of monsters as well.
This looks quite impressive, like the perfect place for soul collecting as many monster marks probably mean this city is attacked often, or not rarely. that's good. very good for me.
I approach the gates and see 2 knights, which look quite imposing
"Hello knights, could I pass the gates, I would like to stay in this city."
The guards look at each other and chuckle for a bit, then the one with an axe says this
"Hey, you really want to stay here? I mean you should know why this city is named Heaven for hunters,
"I think the walls and the gates speak for themselves, But yea i would like to stay in this city" I say while getting quite excited but keeping it as hidden as i can.
The guards chuckle and let me in though small doors as they don't want the trouble of opening the gates. Once I get in i look at my pouches of gold i managed to collect from the camps I have looted.
It looks live well over 100 gold.
I see a person walking though the street and go next to him and ask him
"Hey I have a question. Is there like a person that owns many houses you can buy, or something like that?"

"He lives in a big green building near the town square, you can't miss it" He says this as if he was asked this question many times
I walk a bit more and ask the same question to another person.
"Go to town square, there will be a big green building, it looks quite new, you couldn't possibly miss it" He also says as if he was asked this before
Strange, it look like he's pretty known, so he's trustworthy i presume.
As I walk into town square i see a church of Monster hunter goddess Morega. It looks pretty old and worn down by weather, the ground is of gravel which looks pretty old also, like it was here and walked over for many years. All the buildings also look like they have stood here for decades. There's only 1 exception. A bit 3 story green building. It looks brand new, like it was built yesterday. I walk to it and knock. A tall person with a suit and a big grin opens the door.
"Hello young adventurer, I presume you want a house here. A 1 story building will be 60 gold. A 2 story building or a building with basement 120 gold. Don't worry it has all the furniture required
"I would like a building with a basement please" I say looking at his big white grin
"So with what will you be paying? Monster parts? Equipment? Or are you renting?
"I'll be paying in full with gold. Here it is" I say while giving him 3 pouches full of gold.
The man looks shocked, like someone hasn't fully paid like this in years.
"Well this is unexpected, but let me guide you to your new home" He says this and shows me where I'll be living.
It's a pretty big house In a shady area, which looks a perfect place for thugs and adventurers.
"Thank you, see you sometime later" I say smiling my eyes starting go glow red a bit, but still unnoticeably.
"See you around, hope you don't die too quickly here" The man says grinning as he starts walking away and spinning his cane.
I set all my things there, then go shopping a bit. Buying new armor, food, and equipment with the left over gold. While walking i see that there are quite a few of adventurers walking the streets. I manage to run to my house as my eyes finalize glowing red. I sleep till night, and at night i dress up in a dark hood, grab my dagger and head out to the streets. From what i heard fighting and death is not rare at night in this city. So only dumb or stupid people go out at night. While walking my eyes spot a drunken man walking an alley, probably going home. I walk behind him and he turns around. And tries to speak while being very very drunk.
"Gey, wjo are yoU. Qhy arw your eye ao red" (Hey, who are you. Why are your eye so red)
Before he could speak more I quickly pulled out my dagger and slashed his throat, blood gushing out of his next as he was falling to the ground. My eyes glow a bit more red for a moment as I absorb his soul. The first victim of tonight but not the last.
This night will be a feast. A feast i tell you
I think this as I pull up my hood once again and start to go into the dark streets and alleys of this god forsaken city.
