Ch 26: I tried to shorten the explanations

Inside the box, 10% of Bao Gang’s body had been captured.

He could still sense the pieces, but his connection to them became much weaker. If he could previously control them like a limb, it would now be akin to controlling a marionette. It was actually similar to his control over the God’s blood back on planet Flaming Rock; in a way, they could be considered separate entities, but they still had some form of communication.

If Bao Gang were to tell the God’s blood on planet flaming rock to do something, it would do it, but otherwise, the two separated masses of God’s blood would act separately, both being autonomous. Therefore, Bao Gang’s body could be split up and each piece would be able to act independently of the others, but at the same time, the speed, power, and intelligence of each piece would be worse than the original. In other words, by splitting his body and having them separated by a long distance(or by certain objects like the obsidian box), each piece could be considered a clone, but with only part of the abilities of the whole body.

Obviously, Bao Gang tried to escape the box, but regardless of how hard the God’s blood banged against the box, the box stayed shut, in fact, the box seemed to have no response. From looking at the sectmaster, Bao Gang could tell that his efforts had been futile. Somehow, the box could isolate him from parts of his body.

WIthout hesitation, Bao Gang split up his body, dispersing the golden sparkles in every direction. Some headed directly away from the elders, but others flew towards them, burrowing into the skin of the elders. This did not cause pain because the golden sparkles were so small, but as the elders began losing the qi which they had wholeheartedly worked to store.

All of the elders fell onto the ground, rapidly aging.

Bao Gang recognized that if he were to keep the form of a human he would be able to fly faster, but if he were to do so it would be very easy for the Ange’s Justice Sect Master to capture him.

Alternatively, if he split up his body into the golden sparkles, he would be able to escape in all directions and it would be near impossible for his entire body to be captured. Stealing the cultivation of the elders who tried to seal him was only a bonus.

To Bao Gang, this was the logical move, but to the sectmaster, this was astonishing. While the Angel’s Justice Sect Master had been surprised when he found the barrier array had contained an amorphous body, it was not to the extent of astonishment. What did astonish him was that Bao Gang could split up his body again.

If not common, it was at least not uncommon for cultivators to possess a skill which would allow them to absorb spiritual energy from an array. Clearly, the best way to do so would be to absorb spiritual energy from all parts of an array, so splitting up the body to cover the maximum surface area of the array would be a logical strategy. Due to this, skills had been created to allow a body to split up into tiny pieces to capitalise on this strategy. The only problems are that it would be highly risky as the cultivator risks losing part of their body in the split.

Additionally, this type of transformation is highly damaging to cultivation because it would allow qi to escape. (qi and cultivation are analogous)

The body houses qi which keeps it from dissipating, but by splitting the body, it can no longer do so.

Splitting up into small pieces exacerbates this qi loss, the small pieces require more soul strength to control, and the multi-directional escape essentially means that “Lucifer” was giving up part of his body!

Bao Gang knew none of this, so he just continued fleeing, and after spreading out the golden sparkles over a large distance, he simply let them drop and burrow into the ground.

All in all, Bao Gang had lost almost 20% of his body by now, but when he had absorbed spiritual energy from the barrier and the Angel’s Justice cultivators, he had also created more God’s blood. 20% of his body was captured(around 40 drops), but he had created another 30 drops of God’s blood. Still a loss, but after accounting for the God’s blood which had been produced, his body was only around 7% smaller than when he arrived at planet Angel’s Justice.

He could also feel that his soul strength had decreased, as well as his speed, strength, spiritual energy attunement, and thinking/comprehension speed. Clearly, after being separated from part of his body, he had become much weaker.

While Bao Gang was just lying low, the Angel’s Justice elders were searching furiously for traces of “Lucifer”

“Sectmaster, we should seal the planet to prevent Lucifer from escaping.”

“Alright.”

But the sectmaster had a nagging feeling that Lucifer was not the golden figure which he had chased after. While the absorption ability was a fairly uncommon ability, it was not like there were none. In fact, the Angel’s Justice Sect had a few of their own, but they had their own drawbacks which made them inferior to Lucifer’s ability and also the golden figure which he had chased after earlier.

Not only did Lucifer have different skills than the golden figure, but the golden figure had some skills which Lucifer rightfully should not have, such as the ability to split his body into tiny pieces and control each of them individually. What he didn’t know was that Bao Gang’s God’s blood could be considered an amalgamation of autonomous pieces, meaning that even if his soul strength were not insane, he would still be able to control each piece of God’s blood individually.

In space, Lucifer had arrived to a transparent barrier covering the entire planet. A station with 8 guards were surrounding a circular pathway through the barrier.

He went up to the guards and asked,

“Excuse me, can I enter this planet?”

“Certainly. But, we have a barrier up to prevent a dangerous individual from escaping the planet, so you will be unable to leave until that person is found.”

“May I ask who it is that you are looking for?”

“Lucifer. The same Lucifer who threatened the very existence of our sect hundreds of years ago.”

At this, the guard looked around a little nervously, knowing that if Lucifer were to attempt to escape, they would be the first in the line of fire.

Lucifer became perplexed. How could he have infiltrated the planet and who would dare pose as him?

The guard continued,

“Lucifer was locked up on planet Flaming Rock, but was sent here through a teleportation formation.”

At this, Lucifer almost couldn’t help himself from cracking a smile. Some fool had actually attacked the Immortal Mountain Sect? He had not done so because he knew the consequences would be dire. He had already sensed the presence of cultivators who cultivated the Angel’s Justice technique, and had decided to delay his revenge until he became strong enough, purposefully avoiding the Immortal Mountain Sect.

Then Lucifer entered the planet.
