Ch 19: Infiltrating the Immortal Mountain sect

As Bao Gang flew towards the Immortal Mountain sect, leaving behind a trail of golden sparkles, he thought about his next course of action,

“The most important thing that I must do is stop Lucifer. For the purpose of cultivation before, he killed tens of thousands. Now, he is only more dangerous. He has a higher talent, he may acquire my cultivation methods, he has the potential of awakening the Devil’s blood. For the purpose of this realm, I must stop him.”

While Lucifer had reached xiantian realm, Bao Gang had made it to an equivalent realm with his God’s blood. The demonic bear which he had fought earlier, had its skull caved in in one punch by him. In terms of physical prowess, he could beat at least an entry level xiantian cultivator. He believed his speed was faster than the demonic bear, but keep in mind that the bear is more of a power type, rather than speed type. Being faster than the bear was not actually a great accomplishment, but he believed himself to be significantly faster than the bear.

He additionally had an essentially undying body. The problem lay in finding Lucifer.

Lucifer could be said to far outstrip Bao Gang in terms of cultivation speed. He had everything that Bao Gang had, and more, at least if the Devil’s blood gave Lucifer equal benefits as the God’s blood had given Bao Gang.

Lucifer knew Bao Gang had the methods to kill him though. God’s blood is nothing to be scoffed at, and the power it brings was clearly had the potential to kill Lucifer. Maybe not in a straight up fight, but leaving Bao Gang alive brings only risks and no benefits to Lucifer. As soon as Lucifer found out about him, Bao Gang would essentially have a short time limit when he would be stronger than Lucifer. If he did not succeed, according to his hallucination Earth would be stripped of inhabitants within 7 years. While this was only a hallucination, he believed this to be a possibility in the future.

But what could Bao Gang do? All he had to go off of was the two girl’s blurry memories of the direction Lucifer had flown in. But not only was this not particularly accurate due to Lucifer’s rapid flying speed, but Bao Gang also knew that the planet would rotate about an axis forming the day and night cycle, as well as orbiting around a star, which provided the sunlight.

Due to this movement, even if the girl’s memories were perfect, Bao Gang would not be able to determine Lucifer’s direction of travel. This is not even taking into account that Lucifer might change course suddenly, throwing off Bao Gang’s prediction. All he could do is search randomly. Travel to every planet he sees, and search for Lucifer.

But first, he had to find Xiao Gou Shi. According to Wei Yun’s master, Xiao Gou Shi would grow up to be immensely powerful. This was said by a being on the level of gods! Even if Bao Gang might not be able to catch up to Lucifer, Xiao Gou Shi was a beacon of hope. Wei Yun had said that Xiao Gou Shi already imprinted him, which is why she could not make Xiao Gou Shi the master of anyone else, so he trusted that Xiao Gou Shi would never betray him. At this point, even if Xiao Gou Shi did not have the potential to become strong, Bao Gang would still come back to reunite with Xiao Gou Shi.

In his life, he had only truly known Wei Yun. But she betrayed him.

Xiao Gou Shi had stood guard over him for days in order to protect him. Just the sincerity alone was enough of an incentive to the relationship-starved Bao Gang to reclaim Xiao Gou Shi from the two-faced outer sect master. Slightly scared for the safety of his friend, Xiao Gou Shi sped up, stretching his speed to the upper limit. But even in his anxiousness, the forgiving smile stayed on his face, not a hint of ill intent could be seen on his countenance.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

But with the thought of what the outer sect master would do to Xiao Gou Shi when he found out that the beast would not betray its master, the smile dimmed slightly.

2 hours later

Bao Gang arrived at the Immortal Mountain sect. The assortment of ramshackle houses contrasted with the majestic houses and walls of the sect.

Not wanting to be discovered, he sent a golden sparkle(a drop is 1000 droplets, and a droplet is 100 sparkles) out of his body and crossed the wall to the outer sect.

The guards did not become more active, which showed that the sect walls could not detect the God’s blood. He had already learned his lesson when he was caught passing through the gates without a quarter-sized, jade identification token.

With this knowledge, he sent an entire drop through the walls of the sect. The drop split up into golden sparkles, and entered the sect from all directions, so as not to draw attention with a crowd of flying golden sparkles.

After this infiltrated the sect, he sent another drop, then another, sending in golden sparkles drop by drop until only his golden body remained outside the sect, with a volume of one drop.

He used the golden sparkles as he would his soul sense, but he also wanted to try something else.

He attached a single golden sparkle to a cultivator, who didn’t even notice it. A single golden sparkle’s absorption would not be significant until it had been absorbing for a long period of time. Now, he tried to stop the sparkle’s absorption. Slowly, the spiritual energy it sucked in slowed down, slowly grinding to a halt.

Relieved, he started attaching 100 golden sparkles to each cultivator he saw, having them burrow into the hair, or otherwise attaching to unobtrusive locations, such as the part of the foot hidden from view by a shoe. These sparkles did not absorb any spiritual energy and thus went unnoticed.

He would have changed the amount of sparkles depending on the cultivation of the cultivator, but in the body tempering realm, this only possible through physical tests, such as the strength of their muscle, tendon, bone, or flesh. This would attract the cultivator’s attention, so he could only evenly distribute the golden sparkles.

What he wanted to do is attach these sparkles now, so that in the inevitable fight which would occur, many cultivators would only be able to fight for a short period of time before being drained of spiritual energy.

He did not find the outer sect master in the outer sect, so he moved his remaining blood into the inner sect, repeating the task, but still did not find the outer sect master. He moved into the core sect, repeating his actions.

All of the disciples in the sect had been tagged by him! There were about 4000 outer disciples, 800 inner disciples, and 200 core disciples. This amounts to around 500000 golden sparkles, or 500 droplets, half a drop.

Now he moved the droplets slowly into the elder’s sect. He did so very slowly, scared they would be noticed.

Transporting 217(about 13 drops were gained before reaching the Holy Fire sect, .5 drops came from the demonic bear, and the rest were from demonic beasts which he saw on the way to the Immortal Mountain sect) drops of the God’s blood into the outer sect had taken no more than 25 minutes, and took around an hour to infiltrate all parts of the outer sect before taking another 35 minutes to breach the wall to the inner sect, where they began to move even more slowly, taking 2 hours to prevent disciples from seeing the moving sparkles. In all, from outside to wall of elder’s sect, it took slightly under 8 hours. This time, it took 8 hours just to get over the wall to the elder’s sect.

Then his golden droplets began to spread. At the peak of a mountain, it is generally windy, this was true of this sect, and allowed the golden sparkles to travel unnoticed. This time, he did not even take an active role in controlling their direction unless they blew outside the elder’s court. Otherwise, he just camouflage it as the dirt on the ground.

Needless to say this took a long time, but this time, he attached 10,000 sparkles to each cultivator he saw. This sounds like a lot, but these sparkles were tiny. They would not be felt unless they absorbed spiritual energy. Unless a very close look was taken, they would not be seen on the bottom of a foot, the small of the back, the top of the head, in between the eyebrows, etc.

After 10 days of waiting, he was rewarded. He had found Xiao Gou Shi.
