Chapter 3
It was dark, not once centimeter of light was shone. It was hard to breath. I knew where I was. Well, not exactly knew where I was, but I knew I was in a coffin. Frankly i’m surprised that my family even buried me. Considering they let me die, from the way they acted I thought they didn’t care about me.
Now my mind has slightly changed, I wouldn’t just cut their bodies into little pieces and leave them for the animals to eat. Now I would let them die as a whole and give them a burial. Only seems right that I do what they did to me.
I started punching the coffin. At first it was hard, but after awhile the coffin started to move. Or shake. However you would describe it.
With a loud bang, a hole appeared in the coffin. Dirt started falling down through it but I didn’t mind. I was a higher ranked species, a little dirt couldn’t harm me.
Spreading the hole open, I had enough room. I had to say it was not nice being buried underneath dirt, but it could have been worse. Like me being buried in the middle of the ocean instead.
Since I couldn’t breathe all that well, I held my breath as I clawed my way towards the surface.
Ah, fresh air. This was refreshing, I haven’t felt anything like this in a while. Considering where I was at before, this was way better. As I took in a deep breath, a message flowed in my head.
Energy levels rising…
You body has acquired Mana {MP}. Due to you being a species that cannot use Mana, it has been converted into Stamina {SP}.
Stamina is drained at a certain rate while doing activities, or using certain skills.
Reminds me of those games I use to play. What was one of the titles… Wow? No, maybe it was something else. I don’t know anymore, it has been too long. All I can remember is pac man. That game would live forever. Going down memory lane was nice and all, but it is time to find my family.
Did five hundred years really pass? I mean I was expecting… flying cars, robots… I guess not. Heck, if you can’t do that in five hundred years I give up all hope. Sorry guys, I guess Virtual Reality won’t exist either.
Want to know the sad part about this whole ‘revival’ thing. My family buried me by a tree. Nope, not in a graveyard. By a tree. I didn’t even have a tombstone. Not even a sign that said someone was buried here. It saddened me, how many people stepped on my grave while I was dead?
Whatever, there was no use worrying about it. The faster I make them suffer like I did, the faster I can get on with my life.
So, I ran. It wasn’t hard getting use to the feeling of walking again so i decided to step it up a notch and run. The wind on my face gave me a sense of comfort.
As I approached the nearest town, I recognized the name. They could have changed that dreadful name in the time I was away. Yet, they still kept it the same. It seems some things never change, no matter how much you want it to. If you were wondering, it read
All of my senses were enhanced, I could hear things I probably should not be hearing. Like that woman and man who are hiding behind a tree. And no, this tree is not close-by. The only reason I can see it is due to me concentrating hard enough. Even then, I could barely make out that it was a tree.
I guess the only thing that has changed since I last stepped foot in this damn city was a few buildings. They don’t look the same as they did before. They look sleek and new.
My nose could pick out this amazing aroma, that made my stomach growl.
Family revenge… or something to eat. Eh, family revenge can wait a little longer. I followed my nose to a restaurant. On the way here people gave me a few looks, but I didn’t mind.

I hope I didn’t look like a corpse. Even though I was just one a few seconds ago.
I soon arrived at the entrance to a restaurant. It seemed old school which was refreshing. I opened the door and walked inside. There were plenty of people seated at the tables, and a few at the counter.
It seems this place was popular. Shouldn’t be too surprising considering the fact that the smell coming from the food was nice.
I sat down on the stool and shortly after a young brunette woman came over to me. She seemed to be in her early twenties, probably some college girl earning a living. Kinda makes me upset on the inside, I wanted to go to college, but i died before I had the chance. To think that I would die in my senior year of high school.
“Do you need a menu?” She asked me.
“Nah, i’m feeling something sweet. Give me something you would recommend your family.” I told her.
“You aren’t from around here are you?”
“You could say that. I use to live here when I was younger, and only decided to come back now. How did you know?”
“It isn’t everyday we get someone of your caliber. Golden hair, light blue eyes, and skin that seems like it is perfect. Only see your type in magazines, tell me, are you someone famous?” She asked me.
“Famous, I wish. Maybe my name will spread shortly.”
She heard her boss calling for her so we said our farewells to each other. Not like I wouldn’t see her again considering she would bring me my food soon. At least I hoped it would be soon.
Bang!
The restaurant door burst wide open scaring the humans in the inside. I slowly turned my head. I wanted to see who was brave enough to cause a racket while I was here.
As I turned my head, I caught sight of a group consisting of three people. Two males and one female. This female, she was something else. Long black hair that reached her back, and golden eyes. She did not seem normal, but her figure was out of this world.
Yet, out of all of this I continued getting this feeling that I knew her from somewhere. I couldn’t put my tongue on it, but I knew she was someone from my past.
“Where is he? That beast who dares to enter the Vampires domain.” She said in a calm yet angry voice. It seemed that she was confident in herself.
As I heard her voice, I finally remembered who she was. Kimberly Woods. Her and my sister were best friends back in the day. But she was still alive, and she should be dead. This was suspicious.
She looked directly at me and grinned. Oh, was I her target?
I smiled at her and waved my hand.
“Hey, how's it going Kimberley.”
“Don’t speak my name like we are buddies. Better yet, how do you even know my name?” She asked.
I could sense the change in her voice. She definitely didn’t take this as a game.
“C’mon, it hasn’t been that long has it? Five hundred years I take it? How is Ley doing?”
I gave her a lot of hints at who I was. Not everyday someone ask about Ashley using her nickname.
Her face expression changed, it seems she remembered. I mean, I couldn't have had so little of a presence that no one would remember me would that? I thought I was quite popular in my time.
“Dan? H-how is that possible? You should be dead.” She spoke in a slightly shaken voice.
“Why are you so surprised Kimberly. I’m a Velstrok remember? I might die, but I will always finds way to get what I want.”
“And, what do you want?”
“Do you even need to ask? Revenge of course. How about you come to watch our family reunion? I bet you it will be killer.” I said that with a smile on my face.
She could tell what my words really meant. The two males by her side didn’t seem to like my attitude much as they charged at me.
Their movements seemed kinda slow in my eyes. I reacted. Since they couldn’t keep their emotions in check, I would fix it for them.
My hands stabbed out as it pierced both of their chest. Grabbing a hold of their hearts, I squeezed them and yanked my hands out. There they fell.

Kimberly looked as if she saw a monster.
“Tell Ley i’m looking forward to our meeting.” As I said that I went back to sit down at the counter.
The humans in the restaurant were startled, but they didn’t say anything.
I caught sight of the brunette that I was chatting with earlier.
“How much longer on my meal?” I asked her.
