Alfred looked over the status and thought to himself ´Seems that the work I did in my previous world turned into skills in this one. Though the mana absorption and self repair seem strange. How did I get those I wonder? I guess I should examine them next time we make camp.´

˝Liz, I'm done for now. I haven't examined all of my skills and titles yet, but I'll do that next time we make camp. Since it would be best to cover more ground today.˝ Alfred said while making sure he picked up all their gear.

˝Let's go then, not like we have anything else to do. So we just have to follow this river downstream right?˝ Liz said pointing a the 6m wide river.

˝Well that is what Artisia said. So we should have no problem finding that village. Though she didn˙t mention anything about the distance to the village.˝ Alfred said while starting to walk downstream.

˝That's true, I mean she did give us some long lasting provisions so it's probably gonna take at least a few days. And please don˙t go back on your word about catching and cooking some fish for me. I really can˙t eat this shity food for a long time.˝  She said while trying to catch up with him.

˝I never go back on my word, so don't worry. When we set up camp I will try to catch some fish with this spear.˝ The spear in question was currently being used as a walking stick, since Alfred had no other use for it right now.

Liz smilled and said: ˝I'm looking forward to it then. So what other gear did Artisia give us¨˝

˝It seems we got a small tent, a sleeping bag, cooking utensils and some bandages. And this spear and your dagger of course. It's not much, but it should help us get to the settlement with less hardships.˝ He said patting his backpack.

˝Wait, just one sleeping bag? I guess we will be sleeping in shifts anyway. No wait, let me guess you are gonna say that you don't need to sleep or something?˝  Alfred just noded. ˝Hah, figures I guess it does make sense for constructs not needing sleep. So how do you even regain energy then, if you don't eat or sleep?˝

Alfred then pondered a bit and answered: ˝It is true that I have felt no decrease in my power level. Hm, is it perhaps this mana absorption skill?¨

˝That's probably the case. I guess since you are partially magical now you just absorb the ambient mana to regain energy. Very interesting if you ask me.˝  Liz said taking a bite out of a bit of elven bread.

˝Indeed. And please try not to eat all of your food in the first day.˝ Alfred said shaking his head.

˝I'll try my best. But no promises.˝ She just took another bite and continued. ˝So for how much longer will we walk before preparing the camp?˝

˝Probably for a few more hours, then we should still have enough time to gather firewood and prepare the tent. It would be difficult to do all that in the dark so we will stop a few hours before dark. What's wrong, why do you have such a dissatisfied face?˝ Alfred asked slightly puzzled, he didn't say anything outrageous so why was she so dissatisfied.

˝Of course I'm dissatisfied, we have already been walking for hours and still not a single sign of civilization. If we're gonna walk this much every day I don't think I can take it.˝  Liz said sighing.

˝Well it would do us no good if you travel severly exausted. So we will set up camp here then for the day, it looks like a good position. Is that better?˝ Alfred said only to see a grinning Liz.

˝Of course sooo much better, I will go collect some firewood and you prepare the tent. And most importantly find some fish. Seems fair right.˝ Liz said giving Alfred a wink, dropping the foodsack and running to find some firewood.

´I wonder what they are trying to signal when they blink with only one eye, Serrans didn't to that. Well better get to work then.´ Alfred then started setting up the tent. It's a fairly small tent so it only took him 20 min to set it up. He then set up some rocks for the campfire and set off to the river to find some fish.

´What kind of aquatic liveform are fish anyway.´ He thought to himself. When he got to the river he saw some small aquatic liveforms swimming around. ´These must be fish, they seem edible.´

He then proceeded to  carefully get close to a school of fish and quickly stabbed with his spear. ´Ah, they got away.´ He thought to himself while seeing some fish swim away. He then tried a few more times before finaly succeeding on the 10th try. He suddenly got a notification from the system.

Basic fishing skill acquired.

´So this is how the system notifies you of new skills. Very, very interesting.´ He though to himself before his thoughts were interrupted by an excited Liz.

˝You actually got a fucking fish! I thought it would take you ages to get some. Alfred, you are just awesome!˝ She gave him thumbs up after dropping the firewood in the campfire. She then  proceeded to ignite it with some flint and her dagger. It took a few tries, thankfully the firewood was dry so it was not as difficult as it could have been.

˝Can I borrow your dagger for a bit I need to prepare the fish.˝ Alfred said before being handed the dagger and started gutting the fish. ˝Alright, now to put a stick into it and leave it over the fire for a bit.˝

˝Thank you, Alfred for this. I really appreciate it.˝ Liz said somewhat shily

˝Like you said before, you don't have to thank me for these kinds of things. We are companions now.˝ Alfred said with a gentle voice. ˝Also the fish seems done, so you can dig in.˝

˝Yay! Looks tasty as fuck˝ Liz said quickly taking the fish on a stick. She almost bit in when they heard something from the forrest

¨ARH-WOOOOOOO!˝

˝Oh for fucks sake, can't I just enjoy this fish in peace.˝ Liz said angrily.
