˝Artisia, we have acquired some transportation to the capital. We will be guarding a caravan heading there to deliver a request to the adventuring guild.˝ Alfred said as he started praying to Artisia.
˝Good job, that sounds like the perfect way of getting to the capital. Just make sure not to reveal your true nature to the other people. I don't think most people are ready just yet, to welcome constructs as their equals.˝ Aritisa said into Alfred's mind.
˝Indeed it would be dangerous for me and for their society if they knew constructs could be like me and not just mindless tools.˝ Alfred said trying not to be too loud to wake up the sleeping Liz.
˝True, but slow and steady winds the race. Once you gain prestige you can slowly increase people's understanding of constructs. And the best way for you to do that is to spread my religion.˝ Artisia said as she reminded Alfred of his main mission.
˝I will try to find more worshipers, but should I just try to convert everyone?˝ Alfred asked thinking if he should have asked all the people he met to convert.
˝No, just people that show an interest in constructs. I'm sure you and Liz will be able to identify those people.˝ Said Aritisa as she called the dwarf worker to clean some breadcrumbs.
˝Then I will inform Liz of this, and we will try to uncover potential worshipers.˝ Alfred said as he saw Liz mumbling something in her sleep.
˝Alfred, no! I can't eat anymore fish.˝ She seemed to have some sort of nightmare, at least that's what Alfred seemed to think.
˝Make sure to be careful on you way to the capital, there are many dangerous creatures and people out there. Also when you reach the capital make sure to go to a class priest to try and get a class.˝ Artisia said trying to figure out what kinds of classes he would have available.
˝We shall be extra careful while on the road. I do believe I don't have the funds to gain a class, but I will inquire about it once we reach the capital.˝ Alfred said also trying to figure out what classes he will be able to choose.
˝Alright, let's end the prayer here. Until next time Alfred.˝ Artisia said as she ended the prayer from her side.
˝Indeed, until next time. Now then, I should probably wait for a few more hours before I wake up Liz. Maybe I'll polish the weapons and some of my plating.˝ Alfred said as he grabbed a cloth from his backpack.
He started polishing and after a while the non-rusted parts of his body were shining brightly. He wondered if at some point his rusted parts will also recover like the damaged parts did. After a while he saw that the sun was starting to rise so he went next to Liz put his hand on her shoulder and shook her slighty.

˝Time to wake up Liz, it would be nice for you to get some breakfast before we have to go.˝ He said.
Liz woke up yawned and said: ˝Sure, I don't really want to go hungry. I would have to eat that shity jerky again. Can you please turn around so I can get dressed?˝
˝Alright, I will turn around.˝ Alfred said as he turned his torso around, but left his legs facing Liz.
˝Usually people would turn their whole bodies away, but I guess If you can't see me that's what matters.˝ Liz said as she put her mechanics outfit back on. ˝Alright let's grab the gear and head down. Also did you get shinier?˝
Alfred nodded and said: ˝Yes, I polished our weapons and some of my plates.˝
˝You do look a bit cooler when you're shinier, though you might stand out even more.˝ Liz said as she picked up her backpack and left the room followed by Alfred. When they got down they saw Geoff cleaning some tables. It seemed like the tavern's not actually opened yet. Geoff saw them and said:
˝Good morning, since I haven't even opened the tavern yet I can only offer you yesterdays leftovers. Would you be interested in that?˝
˝That would be more than enough, thank you for the food. The bed was also very comfortable.˝ Liz said as she dug into the food that Geoff brought.
˝I'm glad to hear. Ah, when you're done you can head towards the eastern entrance to the village. It's right past my old man's house. That's what he told me to tell you when he came over an hour ago.˝ Geoff said as he headed back to cleaning the tavern.
As Liz finished hear meal she got up and said: ˝Thank you for everything, I hope we meet again. Also give my compliments to the chef. That goulash was amazing.˝
˝No problem, you can do that yourself. Oy, Martha come out here for a bit. A customer would like to say something to you.˝ Geoff yelled into the kitchen and out came what seemed to be a middle aged version of Jill.
˝What's with the yelling Geoff?˝ She said while looking angrily at Geoff.
˝Hello, I'm Liz. He called you here so I can compliment your cooking. It was amazing.˝ Said Liz while smilling.
˝Oh my, thank you for the compliment, I'm Martha, nice to meet you. So you must be the guest that was staying with us for the night.˝ Martha said while holding her cheek.
˝Yap, and this here's Alfred. We were just about to go since, we have to join the caravan going to the capital. So I wanted to thank you for everything.˝ Liz said while offering a handshake.
˝Ah, the caravan. Well if you want to repay us you could do us a favour. Since you apparently hunted a grey wolf I would like to ask you to keep my daughter safe on your journey.˝ Martha said while accepting the handshake.
˝That's fine by me. Wait, Jill is going too?˝ Liz said confused.
˝Yes, she always wanted to explore the world a bit, so she begged us to go with the caravan. She'll be staying with my friend in the capital for some time. So please, keep her safe.˝ Martha said, clearly worried about the safety of her child.
˝Leave it to us, Alfred here is stronger than he seems, so don't worry. Alright we gotta go, we don't want to be late.˝ Liz said as the hurried out the tavern and went to the eastern entrance.
When they got there, they saw a carriage with two horses strapped to it. Next to it was chief William giving an envelope to a tiger-kin with a monocle. Also waiting for departure was Jill and lion-kin girl. When Alfred and Liz got close William spotted them and said:
˝Right on time. Liz and her golem Alfred are going to guard you on your journey. Liz, this here's our local merchant Paulus, over there are Jill, who you probably already met, and next to her is one of our young hunters Rora. Paulus if you hunt something, make sure Rora teaches the how to skin, they're extremely bad at it.˝
Paulus looked them over and said: ˝Pleasure working with you Liz, might I say you have very remarkable golem.˝
˝Thank you, you also have a very remarkable monocle.˝ Liz said while smilling.
˝Thank you for the compliment, it's indeed quite an amazing product.˝ Paulus said as his monocle shined a bit. ˝Enough pleasantries, I do believe we should depart. The sooner we get on the way, the sooner we can get to the capital. Please get on the carriage.˝
They all got onto the carriage, Paulus was sitting at the front holding the reins, while Liz, Alfred, a very happy Jill and a slightly annoyed Rora were sitting in the back. They waved goodbye to the villagefolk and set off. Jill immediately started asking questions.
´I hope she's not always like this.´ Thought Alfred and Liz. While Rora was thinking something else ´Why is she always like this? And what's with this strange duo we've got as guards.´
