Current Situational Report:
From: Major General Tyson Richards, 17th Airborne Division
To: Colonel Jeffery Strand; Commanding Officer of the 507th Infantry Regiment; 17th Airborne Division
Date: October 10th, 2023
Operation: Operation Cauterize
Operation Start: October 13th, 2023; 21:00 hours
Civilian Presence: Unknown
Location: Elkhart, Pennsylvania
Hostile forces: Estimated Large Hostile Force.
Engage all hostiles with caution.
Hostile Forces are classified as Bravo Zulu, Current confirmed variations are Alpha and Bravo class.
Transportation: Two UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopters
Current Situation:
Last week, we had our first case of the pathogen confirmed through Phone recorded video. Since then we have seen dozens of outcroppings and pop up’s that we have seen fit to cordon off the area. The NSA and FBI are attempting to quell all videos before they get far on social media. This is a level five biohazard and must be contained by any means necessary.
Mission:
First Platoon of Saber Company is currently the largest operational component of the 507th. Fifty seven percent of their Operational Capability is still achievable, which is substantially better than the rest of the regiment at an average of twenty three percent operational capability. It is imperative that we use the First Platoon of Saber company to spearhead Operation Cauterize. It will be their job to enter the city via helicopter insertion on the eastern side of the city, from there they shall move towards Elkhart Elementary school, and await operation start. The Air Force will then divert twenty B-2 bombers to commence Percision strikes against large congregations of the hostile “Bravo Zulus”. After the initial bombardment, Saber One will move towards Vascorp Labs. Once they reach the laboratory, they will collect all VIPs, intel, and research equipment. They will then move towards the roof of the building and be Extracted via Helicopter. As long as this objective is achieved, the city will be strategically bombed once all friendly forces have been secured away from the city.
Location: Topography is urban, expect close quarters fighting and possible hand to hand combat.
Supporting elements: The Texas Thirty Sixth Infantry and Pennsylvania Twenty Eighth infantry Divisions have created a cordon around the city, no one enters or leaves the city until operation ends. Minimum fire support will be authorized in order to limit collateral damage.
Ordinance allowed:
Multiple GBU-52’s will be allowed for this mission. In the event of a REDACTED The use of REDACTED and REDACTED will be mandated.
Notes: we have sent in various REDACTED in order to attempt to find out what has happened in the city. It seems that alone a singular BZ is not an average threat. But, it seems that intelligence is formed when a large grouping of them together is found. A possible theory is the existence of a Hive Mind. But this is baseless and unconfirmed.
Bravo Zulu Information:
At this moment there are two variations of the Bravo Zulu as they are now classified. The first is the Alpha Variant, or the first Variant to appear. These are shambling, slow moving, usually not a threat alone.
The Bravo variant is far different, it is capable of using higher motor function, allowing it to sprint, open doors, and climb ladders. This is a far more dangerous threat, though we have only seen low numbers of them. This Information may change.
It is thought the virus is capable of further mutation but we are not certain of this.
The virus is a waterborne pathogen, it cannot be spread through the air or blood, it can only be transmitted through saliva or the water supply.
