"How dare you bring her here?" Bruce yelled his voice echoing off the rock walls of the Batcave,

"You called me, for my help, you said to hurry back here, if you want me to leave then I'll leave," Dick said through clenched teeth, his face red,

"You didn't tell me she was a freak," Bruce said finally turning to face him,

"This coming from the guy who dresses up like a fucking Bat" Dick spat,

"At least I am human" Dick was tired of Bruce's shit.

Bruce had made no attempt to hide his prejudice against metahumans, but Dick had never seen it so clearly,

"She's a child" Bruce had adopted Dick at a young age soon after his parent's murder, he had once felt like he knew the man, always cold but rarely this bad,

"Metropolis is collapsing and you're wasting your time on that thing, you should have left her to die" Bruce slammed his fist against the jagged rock wall, Dick began to walk away toward the manor above, "I want it out of my house, now!" Bruce yelled after him, his voice sounded more like a wild beast's growl than a human's.

As Dick charged up the stairs he passed Alfred,

"Is everything alright Master Grayson?" He asked, his voice laced with concern,

"We're leaving," Dick said, not slowing for Alfred to catch up,

"Why? If you don't mind my asking" He already had an idea of why but was hoping he was wrong,

"Bruce wants her gone, and I'm done with this" Dick went to the bedroom Alfred had put the girl in, she was lying) : the bed wearing pink silk pajamas that were several sizes too large for her.

Dick picked her up and carried her out to his car, hey laid her in the back seat, Alfred approached holding thick blankets, he handed them to Dick and pulled a scrap of paper from his pocket,

"1 of Master Wayne's safe houses, you should be able to stay there till other arrangements can be made," He said handing it over to Dick,

"I'm not dependent on Bruce," Dick said his tone exasperated

"I am aware, but as far as I see it you'd do best to keep her far away from Star City" Dick checked the paper, he noticed a Metropolis zip code, "I cannot agree with everything Master Wayne said, but I do know that Metropolis does need a hero"

"Thank you" Dick hugged Alfred before climbing into his car and taking off down the drive toward Gotham City.
