After scratching at the spot for several minutes I moved onto the important matters.
“Aron.” I said with a solemn note to my voice. The little trooper must have picked up on the seriousness I was about to tell him because he perked right up from his lazy slump he had fallen into and turned to me “ARON!” He said looking into my eyes with his steady blue ones. Swallowing hard, I began to describe what had happened to me today. Aron, bless his heart, listened to me with rapt attention. After I told him all about my troubles I had had in my life he scouted closer, laid his head on my shoulder and rubbed against me and gave me a large lick across the check. Smiling, I rubbed him in his crack. We stayed like that for a small time until I broke it up. “Okay!” I said “can’t keep calling you Aron, so you’re going to need a name!” He looked up at me and tilted his head slightly “AR NAR ARON!” He responded I couldn’t understand him but I got a general sense of what he meant. “A strong name huh?” Rubbing my chin I scanned my internal library for names that sounded cool that would make sense for my little buddy. Steel was a good choice but it kinda was simplistic, another one that came to mind was titan but I had bad memories of the superhero turned villain. Argento was another name that came to mind. It was something like Latin and ment silvery if I remembered correctly. All were good names but honestly I was always one for Latin names, feeling indecisive I asked Aron.
“Hey I got a couple of names, namely Steel, Titan, and Argento. Which one sounds the best to you?” The little steel dinosaur’s head moved back and forth as if indecisive. Deciding to help him work through them. “Well I can tell you their meaning if you want.” Getting a small nod I smile and explain each. After my brief explanation he sat in silence if his armor was out of the way I’m sure he would have a scrunched brow.
I leaned back and fell into the soft hardy mountain grass placing my hands behind my head. I waited for the young Pokémon to choose his name. I must have fallen asleep in the clam breeze and light sun because I was nudged by a huge nose of steel, groaning from the slight dull throbbing I opened my eyes to see a smiling Aron,
“So did you choose?” I asked the giant of his kind, with a comical grumble he sat down making a loud thumping sound. I quirked an eyebrow at him and he reluctantly nodded. Waiting for a response I laid back and looked up at him.
“ARON RON N AR,” I nodded along, getting the broad strokes. He basically was hung up on Steel seeming lame because his type is literally steel and Argento but he felt it would be too long. Those were his biggest concerns, not all of them mind you, but his main issues.
“If you really don’t like the name Argento we can simplify it down to Arg or Ento, as for Steel it is kinda simplistic and not very imaginative,” he considered my words “ARON RON AR ON AR AR ARON!” he exclaimed and nuzzled his head into my side “OW Ow ow ow ow, I got it! I got it, Ento it is!” he sat up and I could just see that Ento was clearly happy. I smiled at the steel plated dinosaur. I finally decided to do what I had been putting off. Pulling one of the pokeballs from my bag I held it up in front of Ento’s face.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“Ento, this is a pokeball and will allow me to capture you,” I started to explain. The Aron being the good boy that he was, nodded at the explanation.
“Is that alright with you?” I asked him. Looking at me like I was a fool he made a small, well not small but small for him, roaring grumble and tapped the pokeball, the thing popped open and Ento turned into a bright red light that then rushed into the ball, it closed with a quiet snapping sound and shook once, than settled. Picking the little ball up I pressed the small button in the center and it popped open releasing the large Aron, he looked unsteady for a minute but then stabilized and looked up at me with a slightly accusatory glare. “Hey! I wasn’t the one to suddenly throw myself into the ball.” I responded snorting in defeat he looked off to the side, following his gaze I saw the backpack. I still had three tickets to use. Sighing I walked over to my backpack and flipped open the top flap pulling out the three small tickets. They were much like how Ento’s ticket had been but instead of a pokeball they had a question mark. Ripping the first one in half the wheel popped up with its iconic (tap to spin!) quickly hitting the button it spun and I got a (A set of superior Daggers!) a popping sound rang out and a set of identical daggers fell out they were small and silver with a black leather grip, the pummel was a small red gemstone, they both came with sheaths and looked to be in excellent condition, picking both sheaths up I tried to slip them onto my belt they were loose and didn’t fit on the belt quite right. Moving onto my next item I was excited, tearing it the wheel appeared hitting the spin button i waited in anticipation while it spined, slowly it came to a stop on bandaids a small box of the things landed in my outstretched hand not something I was really excited for, but they would be useful for smaller cuts, moving on I gripped the ticket in my hands and kissed it.
“My good luck charm,” A snort came from beside me, turning I saw Ento’s laughter as he smiled up at me. Rolling my eyes I tore the last ticket, with the last popping sound a set of clothes fell onto the ground they looked like tactical gear with pockets upon pockets. The shirt wasn’t any different looking like something a hiker or guide would wear pulling off my t-shirt. I slipped on the hiking shirt, I also undid my belt to pull on my new pants each fit me to a t! I quickly fasten on my belt, and turned to Ento,
“Well let’s go see if we can find somewhere to sleep for the night.” He nodded his head with a heavy grumble. That seemed to grab the system’s attention.
