Hey! Buzzkill here. Brendan, if you’ve read the other book. Serenity started asking a bunch of people to tell more stories about our lives, so I guess I’m the one that got stuck with the intro. Now, let me begin by saying this: it’s been roughly a year since Serenity sliced the dick off of Matt.
FUCK. I forgot, Serenity told me not to spoil the ending of the last book in the first paragraph. Whatever, whoever has to edit this, good luck. It’s gonna be a complete mess. So much has happened in this past year that it’s getting hard for all of us to keep track. Serenity discovered a new way to use her powers, The Unreliables are no longer the only superhero team. In fact, ever since the incident with Matt, more powered people have been coming out of the woodwork.
Yes, I am going with the term powered people. People who get infused with powers. Us original three, Alphonso, Jacob, and I, aren’t infused with power like Serenity or Gwen Spacey. We found our powers in a shack in the middle of the woods of the Mount Rainier National Park. It’s a long, convoluted story, but... that’s also where Serenity told me to start. So, let me lay down the groundwork for what's to come. If you read the last book, the one Serenity herself wrote, then you know about Jared Lang and the massive layoffs that came after the completion of the nuclear energy generator below Seattle. But there’s a bit more to the story than that, and Serenity has been in contact with Grace so we can get her side of the story, but we can start with the event that lead to the kidnapping of the queer-os. (queer superheroes, Serenity’s name.)

...WAIT, I almost forgot to explain what this book is. Serenity told me that this book isn’t just going to be told by just me. It’s a huge collaborative effort Serenity’s trying to put together on her lonesome. She’s still collecting stories from people, so it might take awhile for her to update everything on this ‘Royal Road’ website we found, but she’s doing her best.
Her plan is to try to get one story from everyone who was kidnapped by Matt Shapiro. The queer-os on the list, basically. She just asked me first cause Alphonso’s not home yet, and Jacob wasn’t super involved in how our team got started. She said she might ask him later, depending on how long it takes to get from my apartment to the prison. I’m not gonna question that. But she will say that she hopes each story will be unique in how it’s told, so that’s definitely something to look forward to.
