I blinked. What were those enchantments, I had never heard of them. On a whim, I used Identify on them to see if the system would provide information.

Reliquary

This enchantment allows the object to absorb another enchanted item of the same tier or lower into itself and give the benefits to the wearer. Can hold up to 5 items. Cannot absorb other items of the same set.

Spell Deck

Allows the storage of spell patterns inside a deck, spell slots enchantments on the same item can be updated from the deck (1s), memory slots of the user can be updated from the deck (30s).

Polymorphic

Allows the reconfiguration of certain enchantments.

System Core

Portable system kernel and core modules.

Interface

Allows the projection of an interface for connected systems.

The first enchantment was fairly straightforward. And useful, wearing many magic items at once was a challenge and potentially hazardous as the enchantments could interfere with each other. I hadn't reached that point yet, still I was glad to have a solution.

"So?" Vel broke me out of my thoughts.

"It's a set," I said with a smile, "and the hidden enchantments were revealed. They're all of legendary quality. The main one is Reliquary on everything except the gauntlet, bracer, and focus. It can store magic items and give their effect."

"Very useful, I kind of want one now …" Vel pouted.

"Maybe we can find you some of the missing pieces," I gave her a hug in consolation. "Or I can build them myself. I can see the enchantments so copying them should be possible."

"You'd do it?"

"For you, yes. You deserve it." I gave her the top of her head a soft kiss.

"The gauntlet has something called Spell Deck," I said, "which can store and switch spells in the gauntlet or in my memory slots."

"Sounds convenient but a bit underwhelming for a legendary enchantment."

"I think it can store as many spells as I want. It also takes only one second to change the spells in the gauntlet so I could use it in combat if I wanted."

"That's a lot better, never underestimate the power of a legendary enchantment I guess."

I nodded.

As for the polymorphic enchantment …

I summoned my focus and with an effort of will, the corners of the cube detached and the inner spheres split into curved plates. I could move each component freely around the others. Out of curiosity, I changed the layout of a few plates and collapsed the sphere once again.

> Item Ravri Ritual Focus reattuned to Arcane and Nature

"Well, that's complete bullshit," I said.

"What did you do?"

"The new enchantment on this one is called Polymorphic, it can switch the attunement on the fly."

"Holy shit that is complete bullshit!"

The last two enchantments, however, were a complete mystery. The terminology was very computer-like. I looked at my wrist where the bracelet lay, the magical activity had increased at least a hundred fold. The thousands of tiny enchantments were flashing in my sight.

Had the builder accidentally created a magical computer when trying to recreate the system for themselves?

"And the bracer?"

"Yes, something called System Core and Interface. The explanations are … short and lacking. I think Identify has trouble with them."

"Why would it have trouble?"

"Complexity I think," I shrugged, "they are very, very complex. But I have a theory."

I poked at the enchantments as if I were activating a skill. My intent slid off System Core but the other one answered eagerly. An illusion appeared around my wrist, a gauntlet of silver light hovered a centimeter or so over my forearm and hand. It looked similar to the one on my other arm. Above my hand was a circular wheel with many icons, while on my forearm was something that was pretty clearly a screen.

The background showed two Arachne being … very familiar with each other. One was wearing ornate light gray robes with black and gold accents, likely a priestess garb, while the other wore plate-reinforced leather armor. Over them were a few widgets on the screen. Unfortunately, the entire interface was written in the Ravri language that I couldn't understand.

"Wow," Vel said with a grin, "those two are … friendly."

I dismissed the interface with a blush on my face.

"Is this like one of those com-pu-ter things from your old life?"

"Kind of," I confirmed. "I guess I need to learn the language," I sighed, "but let's get out of here first."

It took us around two hours to explore the rest of the chamber. The offices were emptied of their books and any contraption we found. We took some of the furniture as well, the wood was of high quality and it would probably sell for a good price to the adventurers.

I consolidated my items as well and permanently diverted ten percent of my mana regeneration to charge all of my items. Vel finally relented and accepted my spare storage necklace, not the Amulet of Inazesa as I had originally wanted but the one Breknir had gifted me. I really needed to learn enchanting and create something nice for her.

Alan had explored most of the complex ahead of us already and there were no signs of anyone but us in there. From his detailed report, there were plenty of things to pick up.

After the offices, we visited the bedrooms but they didn't have much of interest. I nabbed a few more pillows, mostly small ones, to add to a future web hammock for additional comfiness. To my dismay, the dressers were all empty. I would have liked to find real clothes adapted to my new body type.

Past the bedrooms, we found three workshops and a small storeroom near the back. The alchemy workshop still had some equipment, so I packed a crate with the glassware and metal devices. There weren't any ingredients left anywhere. Next to it was an enchanting workshop. I didn't find any elemental stones but there were some engraving and metallurgy tools that I gathered into a box and stored as well.

The last workshop was filled with precision tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, small pliers, and more. There was even a small desk lathe. It felt out of place among the mostly magic-based technology, maybe one of the priestesses had an interest in mechanical engineering? I carefully packed this workshop as well. I wasn't much of a tinkerer but maybe it would come in handy at some point. The storeroom itself was mostly empty except for a few small crates with metal ingots. In total, I found three dozen bars of various metals like copper, brass, iron, some silver, and gold.

There were several passages leading out of the chamber. Two of them were too small for me to fit through, they were likely for the servants, but there were three wide hallways that would comfortably fit me. From my estimation, they led to other places in the temple. I was curious to know why I hadn't noticed them when we had explored.

"Before we go further," Vel said, "let's take a break to eat."

"We can use the rest area, there is a hidden kitchen area."

"A real kitchen? Where?" Vel asked with enthusiasm.

"I'll show you," I started to walk back, "it's only accessible by what I call the 'servant hallways' since they're too narrow for Arachne to fit through. The entrance is behind a false panel."

"This place is full of surprises," she twirled around, "maybe not for you."

"I like not being surprised by ambushes," I replied.

----------------------------------------

Vel had disappeared behind the false panel to the kitchen as soon as I had opened it and transferred our provisions to her storage amulet. I was watching her cook with my sphere and she was enjoying herself. She had quickly figured out the enchantments on the stove and was grilling with abandon.

While she did that, I was stuck waiting in one of the alcoves. Alan was there to keep me company. I took the time to modify his spider form to include the same fluff as me. He enjoyed it and appreciated the pets he was receiving even more.

As I waited for the food to be ready, I dove back into my status screen. Since I had a better handle on my spider related skills, I raised all of them to rank three and did the same with my priestess skills.

> Raised Skill Spider Thread to rank 3, level 12 for 15 ES (+60 levels)

> Raised Skill Utility Thread to rank 3, level 8 for 15 ES (+60 levels)

> Raised Skill Spider Climb to rank 3, level 12 for 18 ES (+72 levels)

> Raised Skill Poison Synthesis to rank 3, level 12 for 18 ES (+72 levels)

> Raised Skill Divine Magic to rank 3, level 20 for 20 ES (+80 levels)

> Raised Skill Divine Domains to rank 3, level 20 for 20 ES (+80 levels)

My status updated accordingly and I saw the number of domains I had access to jump from two to six. It looked like each rank of the skill gave me access to two more. Maybe one per patron deity?

I checked the Divine Magic skill and, unlike the other magic related skill, it didn't grant me the knowledge to create my own spells but only allowed me to choose from a list. Which domains I chose influenced which spells I had access to.

In essence, I was borrowing spells from my divine patrons.

I opened the list to see which ones were available to me.

Gaia

Healing, Protection, Knowledge, Truth, Animal, Plant, Earth

Lolth

Darkness, Twilight, Spider, Magic, Arcana, Runes, Order

There were quite a few choices at my disposal. Gaia was obviously themed around nature and life while Lolth looked a bit more varied at first glance. I could open a domain to see the list of spells available, so I checked Knowledge.

Read Language

Allows the caster to read and write one non-magical language of their choice while the spell is active.

Speak Language

Allows the caster to speak one non-magical language of their choice while the spell is active.

Clairvoyance

Create up to five scrying sensors near the caster that can be directed at the will.

Scrying

Create a scrying sensor at the location or creature of your choosing.

Familiarity with the target influences the chance of success.

Specific enchantments can disrupt scrying.

I immediately chose this domain without further thought. It had the one spell I needed to search for my family, or even the entire village.

> Selected Domain Knowledge (Gaia)

For the others, I quickly skimmed through the spell lists and narrowed my selection down to five. Healing and Protection from Gaia to bolster my capabilities on that front. From Lolth, I picked Magic to gain access to spells like Anti-Magic Field and Dispel, Runes to expand my runic magic capabilities, and Arcana as the last one which was centered around the use of a Spell Deck.

> Selected Domain Healing (Gaia)

> Selected Domain Protection (Gaia)

> Selected Domain Magic (Lolth)

> Selected Domain Runes (Lolth)

> Selected Domain Arcana (Lolth)

I checked my status.

Secondary Class

Mystic Priestess

Skills (2/10)

Divine Magic - Rank 3, Level 20

Divine Domains - Rank 3, Level 20

Patrons

Gaia, Lolth

Spells

Domains (6/6, 10th)

Knowledge (0/3), Healing (0/3), Protection (0/3)

Magic (0/3), Arcana (0/3), Runes

From the looks of it, I could pick three spells at the tenth level per domain except for Runes. If my hypothesis was right, I had almost twice as many spells as a regular priestess due to my dual patrons. I put choosing spells to the side for the moment.

Instead, there was one more thing I wanted to test, Skill Synthesis. It was a possible way for me to accelerate the development of my summoned runic contraptions technique I had developed. The price was steep but I had more than enough essence to give it a try.

The process was simple, I needed to activate the Skill Synthesis as I performed the technique.

I cast Obsidian Requiem, followed by Crystal Growth and Runic Inscription. Even with my improved mental skills, the operation required a lot of my attention.

I formed the base shape of the Emitter out of stone and formed the crystal cores. The next step was the most difficult, I took my time to do everything right and slowly inscribed the runic formations inside the cores and on the stone. Every glyph and connection was triple checked against the diagrams in my mind.

After a very long minute, I had an Emitter stone hovering in front of me. I could have released the synthesis at that moment but I persevered and created an Anchor stone as well. I was rewarded by the creation of two new skills.

> Unique Skill Catalyst Creation synthesized in Mystic Witch for 128 ES.

> Unique Skill Catalyst Assembly synthesized in Mystic Witch for 128 ES.

I relaxed and opened my eyes.

"So … what strange thing did you manage this time?" Vel said in a teasing tone.

Vel had finished cooking and had brought two delicious smelling plates from the kitchen. She dropped them on the table and sat next to me.

"I tried out Skill Synthesis," I said and triggered the skill. Another Emitter appeared next to me, a perfect copy of the previous one built in five seconds instead of fifty.

"What's that?"

"A perk I got from my second blessing, it can create skills from a technique. Like I just did, it's a combination of several skills and spells."

"That's powerful," she nodded.

"It is. Also expensive, it costs a hundred and twenty essence per skill."

"Now you know what to do with all that essence," Vel poked me in the stomach.

Before she could start to eat, I shifted my pedipalps and made a cushion appear on them. Vel looked at me with a puzzled expression for a few moments before I just picked her up and dropped her in my lap. I wrapped my lower set of arms around her stomach and rested my head on her shoulder.

"You're the best, you know," I said, "taking care of me like that."

"You're worth it," she leaned into me and kissed me on the cheek.

Lunch was a quick but delicious affair. Vel had taken advantage of the full kitchen. The meat was braised and accompanied by a thick sauce, the vegetables were grilled to perfection, and she had added some of the flat bread.

"This was great," I said, "best meal I've had in a while."
