- Tent is set, the drink is summoned. Do we need something else other than some snacks?
- How about inviting Samantha and Elena? Either Elena turn out to be a good drinker or turn out to be like Samantha... - Mortred answered. - The last time was hilarious. She gave us quite a good show...
- It's a shame that I can't materialize memory crystals. Than I could blackmail her at the same manner as she does with me... - Daemon said with a hint of annoyance and regret.
- Or we could rewatch that again... Maybe one of the girls have a spare one? - Mortred offered a solution.
- If one of them brought an empty one I could might as well learn how to make one.
Materialization magic had one requirement outside mana for making something and that is knowing how the thing you want to materialize made or its structure. For example if you want to make iron with it, you need to know how iron is made or the correct atomic structure of it. This rule applied to anything which can be created with materialization magic.
- Hi boys! - Elena greeted them. - I finished with the dragon distributing so I was wondering when will we do the pact?
- I wanted to do the pact evening with Mortred so how about we do yours to then?
- Are you sure? You know doing two pact at the same time... will increase the chance of mutations.
- Mutations?
- Yes, the stronger the familiar the higher the chance to cause a mutation for its master. Don't worry, they are either cosmetic or beneficial to the master, it's impossible to weakened by a mutation.
- What kind of mutations can happen?
- Well, it's all based on the familiar and the master but the most commons are changing eye colour or glowing eyes. These two are only visual mutations that has no effect on the master. As for mutation that has benefits and are "common" amongst the lesser races would be growing wings, longer ears that improve hearing one case or another partial body reconstruction such as reformed, improved muscle or bone strength. As for what kind of effect will it have on a dragon host I'm not sure, only that both me and Mortred quite strong so mutations are likely would happen. It's not like you anyone succeeded making either a seven headed elemental hydra nor a primal dragon queen into a familiar before. I even killed a summoned hero after he thought defeating a demon king make him worthy! - as she said it she puffed out her not so lacking chest with pride and annoyance - Seriously... Most of the lesser races in this world are trash. Their arrogance is unnecessary, when they know that dragon host could easily crush them. Then again... It's not like your kind would bother with a demon king.
- You know... I want to ask, what do you consider lesser races?
- Anything that weaker, than dragons. In another words... Outside us, primal dragons and dragon hosts, everything else.
- What about Mortred?
- Elemental hydras are more of dragons rather than hydras, so I think of him as a dragon too.
- Is that true? - Daemon asked them surprised and confused.
Since when a hydra is more of a dragon than hydra?
- A short version would be that we are hybrids of the two races... - Mortred told him. - If you want I can tell you the longer version too but it's quite boring.
- I don't mind that. Go ahead.
Mortred nodded and started his explanation.
- As I said before we are hybrids. Back in the era when primal dragons were quite a young race the original hydras are already were, a developed race with similar mindset of a dragon. One seek the strong and preferably have descendants with those who wield great strength. You see... As long as you strong enough neither dragons or hydras had problem with being part of other species as it wasn't a great deal for them. Back at that time primal dragons still had a the same ability as you dragon hosts have. After all... Primal hosts and those souls inside you are actually distant relatives. It just primal dragons lost their magic and in the end stronger bodies, well... they had and still have bodies. The dragons whose souls are residing in your kind are those who not lost their magic but ultimately lost their bodies as you know... That likely the reason why the two of your races should, in my opinion, be called subspecies rather than entirely different species. Now back to the point... As you know you dragon hosts have elemental affinities. It was the same with primal dragons back then. After some cross breeding that I hope I don't have to explain some of the descendants became elemental hydras. Why the hydras, for some cases dejected our kind, the dragons were delighted for a new strong species that had their blood too in their veins. Our kind were raised up by the dragon parents, sometimes even adopted by those whose original dragon parent died and the hydra one wouldn't accept. After hundreds or even thousands of years as we in times more and more chose our partners from within our kind our connection became a little bit colder with the primal dragons and the primal hydras, which by now are extinct in this realm. This is a slightly longer version of my race's origin.

- Wow, just wow. I can't even find the right words... That quite a lot information... But then why you didn't speak to us, dragon hosts, in the past when you were clearly able to.
- I was sealed away, then after I noticed you understand our language it was just more convenient to use our language. - Mortred answered.
- I simply chose to not do it, it's inconvenient to have too many people wants to interrogate you in various topics as one of the other species. After a time it became a habit. As for this time I just wanted to have a human body first... - Elena replied.
- Elena, you seriously have some problem in your head... not that I haven't got used to it by now. Let's get back to our original topic, by now I would guess most already preparing themselves for the pact. Is there anything else I need to know about the blood pact?
- Well... We will equally share our life force with you. As we both have a longer liver span our life would shorten a bit and your would grow greatly from the standard of hundreds or years to thousands of years.
- That's a lot! Won't you regret this?
- I been sealed for gods know how long and would stayed sealed for gods know how much more if not for you, plus you are someone that have potential in the future. For us, who naturally live for thousands of years are boredom or lack of goal are natural enemies. With you around both of these will be solved so I don't think I will ever regret this. - Mortred stated.
- I chose you my first and sole mate after almost two thousand years of life, even if I have to spend hundreds of years to pursue you I will do it! - Elena answered.
Daemon deep down knew that Elena has her reasons for acting like this... And deep down he wasn't bothered by her affection rather he was happy for it, he wasn't a dense idiot even when they first met but rather someone who tried to not pursue a relationship as long as he is a student. Rather he just didn't want to admit it that he for some cases liked Elena even before she had her human form but after that it just was like an entire oilfield to the flame. He still didn't want to admit it but he did know that he wouldn't have her pursue him for hundreds of years. Once he graduated and have a stable, ensured life he would become the one that pursue her instead. But this wasn't something that he planned to tell her.
- Care to join for a drink with us, Elena? - Mortred asked.
- Well... I never drank before but there is always a first time. Will you invite anyone else?
- Not likely. I don't want to be responsible to anything that might happen with the girls and you know what happened to Samantha last time... - Daemon answered.
- Yes... It was quite a show for you guys, wasn't it? - Elena said in a seductive voice while leaning closer to Daemon and whispered in his ears. - If you want... I'll do it for you without even without being drunk... just ask.
Daemon became crimson red at the mere thought when he changed the image of a drunk Samantha into a drunk Elena for a moment in his head. That would be even more dangerous to his self restraint than when Samantha did it. He imagined for a second when Samantha became drunk after only 3 glass of wine and started striptease dancing in front of the two "problem child" without any reservation.
- I will recall you into the summoning seal if you do something like that while being drunk... even outside that.
Daemon tried to keep his cool, at least on the surface... it worked but the male's so-called "twenty-first finger" betrayed his overall act. Luckily Elena didn't noticed it or even if she did, she did not mention it afterward.
- Well... I even brought some griffon meat for some skewer as snacks. It was damm pricey, but we also ate griffon at farewell party and it was quite a delicacy. - Daemon said.
- You could have told me! I would have hunt one of the Imperial guard's griffons! Now those are top quality amongst the griffons. - Elena commented.
- That the last thing you should do!
