Mors watched as the noisy thing that called itself Lilith walked away before turning his attention back to the big white circle above him. He reached his tiny arms into the air to try and grab it but to no avail. He would have to get much bigger if he wanted to touch the white thing. Mors then recalled what the noisy lady had said about getting stronger. If he got stronger, would he get bigger? Mors struggled to stand on two feet and slowly began walking forward.
He came to the surface of a transparent surface different from what he was standing on now. Looking at it, he could see a black thing with a fat body, short white hair, and stubby limbs looking back at him. Was the thing stuck somehow? Mors reached out to try and grab the thing but fell over into the surface. He began to panic as he continued to sink into the depths before landing on his back with a plop. Mors tried getting up but found he was stuck there, unable to move. He needed to get stronger to move, and according to Lilith, he had to kill stuff.
But what did that mean? How did he kill something? Suddenly a big fat green thing floated in front of him with a vacant stare. “H-haw, do I keel?” He asked it, trying to speak as his mother had done. The thing was unresponsive, and after a moment of staring, it went somewhere else, leaving Mors alone again. Eventually, he began to get frustrated. “I. Want. Out!!!” A wave of darkness exploded from his body, filling the area around him. As he calmed down, he heard the same noise sound in his head over and over.
[You have killed Fish!]
And then,
[You have leveled up!]
Mors noticed the green thing that looked at him earlier floating up along with other colorful things. Those must be fish. He tried getting up again, and this time he succeeded! He quickly jumped out of the fish area and landed safely on his feet. The young devil turned around and looked at the fish on the transparent surface. “I guess they’re killed now.” He said in a much clearer voice than before. “So, to kill stuff, I must make that black stuff? Hm, but I still don’t know how to make that stuff. Getting stronger is gonna be hard if I can’t figure that out.” Mors sat back down and winced as he felt an unexpected burst of pain. He looked behind him and noticed a black string on his bottom that wasn’t there before. I’m so confused. He thought to himself as he tried to make sense of this new development.
Mors recalled the sounds he’d heard when he killed the fish. “I leveled up? What does that mean?” At that moment, a black screen appeared in front of Mors.

“H-huh?! What’s this supposed to be?” Mors tapped the screen with his finger causing it to vanish, then instinctively brought it back with a thought. “Oh, so this shows me how strong I am. If killing things makes my level go up, then that's how I get stronger. It makes much more sense now!” Mors dismissed the screen again and began to explore the rest of the area. There were really tall brown things all around him that felt hard to the touch. He kept walking around and noticed another creature different from a fish. It had tiny hands and a string coming out of its back like Mors did, except it had tiny hairs on it. The creature ran off before Mors could get to it, but he was distracted once again by an orange glow coming from the sky. He watched in wide-eyed fascination as the big white thing faded away and was replaced by a big yellow thing. The sky turned blue, and puffy white things drifted through the air.
“I want to go up there,” Mors said, hopping up and down enthusiastically as he imagined getting big and strong so he could be like the puffy things. As Mors continued walking, he encountered another hairy creature that was much bigger than anything he’d seen before. The brown creature looked at him with black eyes and lumbered toward him on its big paws. It leaned down and sniffed the little devil before flopping down on its side. “Did I kill it?” Mors asked, perplexed by the creature's strange behavior. “No, if I had killed it, then I would’ve heard the noise in my head again.” The creature's eyes were closed, but it wasn’t dead yet, so what was it doing? Its eyes were closed, and its breathing was slow. Mors decided to try it out for himself and lay down on the soft ground. He closed his ruby eyes, and when he opened them again, the big yellow thing had moved to a different part of the sky. The big creature was still nearby,
“Oh well, I guess it doesn’t matter,” Mors said, examining the still figure in front of him. He rubbed his hands into the hair on its surface and marveled at the soft sensation. “Oh wow, it feels nice!” Mors hugged the creature with his tiny body enjoying the sensation. Mors didn’t move until he heard the creature take a deep breath and let it out slowly.
[You have killed a Brown Bear!]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have leveled up!]
“Nice, but am I just going to end up killing everything I touch?” He asked out loud as he picked himself up off the dead bear and continued forward. All around him, Mors was surrounded by enormous brown and green things that made him dizzy to look up at. Oh? There’s a black hole in that one. He thought as he approached the opening. As Mors walked inside a particularly large tree, he noticed three brown bears looking at him that were smaller than the one he had killed earlier. I wonder why they’re smaller. I don’t think I want to kill them though, so I’ll avoid touching them. Deciding that killing the bears was a bad idea, Mors left the hollow and continued forward.
Eventually, he came to an enormous grey thing with a white top. Mors began to grow excited. If he could reach the top, then maybe he could touch the big white circle when it appeared in the sky again! Mors resolved to reach the top and began walking up the slope. The ground changed from green to gray, and the terrain became much more rugged. Soon, Mors was climbing over ledges and tripping over large bumps. Even so, Mors refused to give up his quest, and after two days, he finally made it to the mountainside. The young devil looked at the rockface in front of him and noticed tiny holes or bumps sticking out that he could use to climb and began his journey upwards.
