~ALVIN’S P.O.V~

The sound of trumpets collides with the sound of people cheering.

Attractions, foods stall, music. Everything is here right now, in this Festival of Excidium.

This is a big festival that held every five years, all the people in the city has been waiting for it.

Currently, we are in the city park enjoing the festival, but as expected there are only the four of us this time as well.

Mother, Father, and Grand Father can’t accompanying us to enjoy this festival together.

But even though i said it just the four of us, i can sense the presence of the guards wathcing us from afar separately.

This should be just a festival, there is no need to put such protection.

“ Won’t you join them young master Alvin ? “

“ Nah.. it’s okay, i’m not good at dancing anyway “

People are dancing along with the cheerful music near a fountain in the middle of this park.

Alice and Nex are dancing among them as well.

As for me, i just watching them from a bench with Sena standing beside me.

But to tell the truth, the fact that my parents can’t even be here turn my spirit down.

I have been waiting for this festival as well, i wished to spend this day with everyone.

But they are not here.

“ You know, lately you are always gloomy  “

“ Alice.. ? “

“ It’s  not good for a boy to be always so gloomy, i know what you are thinking right now but this is festival. Let’s enjoy it even for only the four of us “

My face show it all huh.

Alice is always comfort when ever i felt sad, i’m very grateful to have you as my sister.

“ hei hei look, that man can sucking fire from the torch “

“ hmm.. where it is ? oh it’s true he sucks fire from a torch “

“ i have heard about someone blowing gasoline into a torch, but sucking the fire from it. Don’t tell me, he’s actually the salamander ? “

From Nex’s remark we saw a big bald man sucking fire from a torch.

But that’s weird for Alice to make such question, she should know that salamander isn’t human.

“ Young lady Alice, he is a normal human. He just knew some flame magic and making a trick from it “

“ Hahaha don’t bother me Sena i’m just making some references “

“ Never mind “

I look at my pocket watch that Grand Father gave me, it show the time that still at 10 in the morning.

That’s right it still early, it will be a waste to spend this day feeling dejected. I should enjoy the festival as well.

~SENA’S P.O.V~

‘ Listen Sena for this whole day you have to be by their side and protect them, keep them from us as far as you can ‘

‘ The guards will be watching all of you from afar just in case if something happens ‘

Be by their side and protect them, and in additional keep them from their parents as far as i can.

That’s the order that Master and Madam gave me early in the morning, i always spent most of my time with young master Nexan so the first order is common for me. But why do i have to keep them away ?

I believe they has a good reason for it.

But because of the strange order i felt so tense ever since this morning.

In this morning the three young master and lady debating about where to go to enjoy the festival.

They followed my suggestion to visit the city park since i said to them that the city park is the most exciting place when the festival is being held.

But the truth is because the city park has some considerable distance to where their parents will be, and that palce is the church of Excidium.

But to keep them away for one whole day.

They will be bored if we still in the park after a few hours, i should think of another place that seems fun to spending the time.

“ ena... Sena... are you listening ? “

“ Eh ? i’m sorry Young master Nexan,  what is it again ? “

“ We want to buy some food from the stall right there, you seemed not paying attention so i called you “

it seems i’m spacing out too much.

i offered them to wait and let me buy the food for them , but they said they want to buy it by them self.

I followed them a standing in line of queue, this stall is quite popular.

And despite of being just a stall they has a lot of food choices that can be seen from the menu board that hanged on top of their stall.

“ Papa, i want to eat that one “

“ Which one ? this one ? “

“ Yes that one “

“ Roger that ! then sir, please this one for two portions “

“ Thank you papa “

In the front of the queue we can see a pair of father and son ordering their food.

I can feel sadness and envious from young master Alvin who wathced them from the queue.

Poor child, what if he know that i had been ordered the keep them away from their parents for this whole day ?

I can’t let that happen no matter what.

I have to protect their bonds.

~ALICE’S P.O.V~

Why does such heartwarming scene appear before us ?

It doesn’t mean that i hate it, it just not the time for it.

Please Mr. Fate read the mood or this poor brother of mine will be sad again.

We wait for some more time in the queue until finally we can order the foods, then after that we looked for a place to enjoy the foods since we can’t just eat it while standing.

We found a table with four seats in it, Perfect.

Then... Yup, it’s delicous.

I glance at Alvin in front of me, checking his mood. He is now chatting with Nex who sit besides him, it seems they are talking about their foods as well.

It seems Alvin is enjoying the chat, i’m glad that we have an innocent child in our group.

Beside me is Sena, She is our maid but maybe calling her Nex’s babysitter will be more fitting.

She is rather young, maybe in her early twenty.

“ Speaking of which Sena, how old are you ? “

“ *cough**cough* forgive me young lady Alice, but why you asking me that ? “

Ah how stupid i am to asked a woman about her age, even i will give that kind of respond to some one who asking about my age.

Well in the previous life of course.

“ Eh.. no, it’s nothing i’m just a little bit curious. You don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to “

“ i’m... about.... twenty four ? “

What with that dubious answer, you don’t have to answer it if it that hard for you.

~SILLIAN’S P.O.V~

In my life, i always fear of death.

I fear that i have to leave everyone i love and go to somewhere far away.

I fear that i have to let someone i love to go.

I remember the time i have to let go of my wife and my youngest daughter.

The sorrow i felt back then, i don’t want to feel it anymore.

My death has been forecasted.

And now i will greet the death that i always feared.

I have made my preparation, i have firmed my heart i won’t back down. And even if i can’t handle them alone the knights will always protecting me.

Inside the carrige, i looked at the outside view from the window. The festival bring so much happiness, this is the time where a family should be together and enjoying the moment.

“ You both shouldn’t accompanying me. It’s not too late, go back and spend your time with your children. I’ll be fine on my own “

“ And you know that i can’t just leave my father alone to face his death, can i ? “

“ Eventhough i can’t cancel the festival but i already told the pirest of the church about assassination. I’m not alone, they will protecting me so you don’t have to worry “

“ Give it up father, we won’t leave you “

They seems mad at me for saying my suggestion.

I feel guilty inside, they choose to be by my side and face the danger until the end.

The carriage stop, we arrives at the church. This is the first place in my schedule where i have to be on this day. There wil be a ceremony on the church and as the Duke they requested my present.

The assassination can be occur anywhere even in the church so i will have to be careful.

“ Welcome to the main church of Excidium your grace Duke Sillian, His holiness has been waiting for you “

A priest greet us as soon as i get out from the carriage. The church has been filled with the townspeople and worshipers of Excidum faith.

In an instant a way has been cleared for us to pass so we can get inside the church without trouble.

As i get inside, i can see the pope who wearing a red rob is bowing before the altar of lord Andresta. The priest who greeted me carefully run to him and whispering him.

The Pope stand and turned to face us.

“ Welcome Duke Sillian, we have been waiting for you “

“ Forgive my late your holiness, i hope you didn’t wait too long “

“ Ahh... it’s okay, you had been bothered by the though of you being assassinated. So i can understand “

What the... why did he casually said it in public.

I did tell them about it and requested for help, but that does mean you can said it just like that.

“ Miranda Corsuel had sent her warning about you death, but it seems that she can’t see the whole event or who is the one behind it “

“ What...? why are you talking about that in here ?

“ You don’t understand yet ? the one behind your death is us the church of Excidium the followers of lord Andresta “

What is he talking about ? how can he just say that so calmly

“ But you are wrong about one thing Duke Sillian, our goal is not an assassination but much bigger. Our goal is to cleanse this city from it’s sins. We are being protected by the power of our lord so such little being like Miranda Corsuel will never be able to see our future even with her eyes “
