~ ANNA’S P.O.V ~

It has been three years since Nexan become our new family member, i’m so grateful that my family can accept him whole heartedly. I introduced Nexan to my children Alvin and Alice, they was confused at first when i said that Nexan will be their new brother.

They are good kids they said that they understand and will accept Nexan as their brother, i’m so proud of them. The one who accept him first is Alice, back then she was only three years old, girls in her age shouldn’t  be understand some emotional things but when i explained what happened to Cire she show a sad and sympathetic face not only for Cire but also for Nexan.

Alice, she is a smart girl she can easily learn anything. When she mastered how to read she burried her self in pile of books, she also easily mastered the basic magic just from the book that she read. She is now six years old girl, she started to attend school a year ago and up until now the teachers are always praised her for her intelligence.  Maybe calling her as a genius won't be exaggerated.

She like learning about magic the most, sometimes i helped her with her study about magic and even though i’m not as skilled as Cire i can use magic up to advance level.

Her brother however is more insterested in the art of sword, just like his father he prefer one-handed sword style. Of course he never wield a real sword before, every time he praticed he always use a wooden sword and a wooden shield. Some times he asked for a real one to pratice but i forbid him it’s still to early for him after all, the same goes for Alice, up until now i always forbid her for carelessly use a combat magic, but where did she learned about combat magic ? the school shouldn’t teach about magic in the first third grades let alone a combat magic. Did she also learned it by her self ?

Right now we are on the backyard of the mansion, Jullius who working with my father got a free time so we decide to spent the time together in the backyard.

We actually wanted to go for a picnic but Jullius’s free time is short so we had no choice, and we can’t afford to waste this opportunity to spent the day together since Jullius always bussy with piles of work.

Jullius and Alvin is practicing sword play while Alice, Nexan, and I watching from a distance. Jullius is a skilled with sword and shield by the way. He is a former knight commander who served the kingdom for years, he is an excellent warrior but because one great war in the past he recieved a fatal injury and cannot longer participate in actual battle anymore.

That war weakened his heart, so when ever he got too worked up he will receive a painful heart attack. Even in some sword practice with Alvin just like now, i always got worried about his heart but he always said ‘ it’s okay i just want to spent some times with my son, that won’t kill me ‘ he said it so easily don’t he know that i reallt worried about him ? but if the person him self said that it is okay for him then i will believe him.

Beside me who is sitting on the ground is Alice who showing her magic to Nexan, it’s a simple magic called [light ball]. Just like it’s name, it’s a magic to create a ball of light.

She created the [light ball] with both of her palm. The funny thing is that she created the [light ball] then she dispelling it on purpose making it like a popped bubble, i don’t even know that you can make it to become like that.

“ So Nex, do you want to see it again ? “

“ Yes Alice one more time “

For some reason Alice and Alvin sometimes address Nexan by Nex, the first time Alice heard Nexan’s name she said that it’s a weird name and i scolded her for that, it’s not good to insult some one name especially your own family. And in my opinion Nexan is a pretty good name even Alvin agreed but maybe because of Alice’s influence, sometimes we also called Nexan just by Nex

 “ Hihihi... as you wish, then look at this “

Alice strated to chant the magic in low voice eventhough she can do it chantless since she already mastered the magic.

“ Lumos “

Hmmm that strange, i don’t remember about that last line in the [light ball] chant.

Ah i just noticing it now, why did she always chanting the last line in loud voice while she chanting the other line with very low voice ?

While i’m questioning that to my self, a ball of light appears from her palm hands, a bright blue light illuminates the surrounding area. Nexan’s silver hair slightly become bluish because of it.

Speaking of which, just like their father both Alvin and Alice has blode hair while i’m alone with silver hair.

But now with Nexan around i’m no longer the only one who has silver hair in this house anymore, this trivia thing is somehow makes me happy.

“ What do you think Nex, it’s beautiful right ? the ball doesn’t have any heat but somehow the light gives you the feeling of warmess“

Alice pull her hands down letting the ball floating in the air, Nexan looking at the ball with wide eyes and opened mouth he seems really like the magic.

“ Beauti—    ah... it’s disappear again ! “

Nexan raise his arms to touch the ball but before he can touch it Alice mischievously dispelled the magic again.

She shouldn’t tease Nexan too much, but seeing Nexan’s surprised face is cute.

“ Hey Nex what happened to you ? why are you making that face ? “

Alvin said that with a light laugh he probably saw what happen but still asked it nevertheless, it seems the sword practice is over it end faster than what i expected.

“ Are you okay ? is there something wrong with your heart ? “

I asked while offering a glass of water to Jullius, i hope there is nothing bad happen to his heart.

“ ah don’t worry it’s not because i feel sick of something it just... “

I’m looking at the direction that Jullius is looking at, there is a man standing. I know that man he is one of my father subordinates his name is.... i forgot his name.

“ He come to pick me up, it seems father is summoning me “

“ Didn’t he gave you a day off ? “

“ He did, but it seems that somethings important comes up “

“ Really, to disturbing your day off that he gave him self. Just how important is it ? “

“ ahahaha if it’s your father it probably very important, ah... i can see it the battle with tons of monster paper work and then it end with my body that almost break “

Ehmhmhm... To see a former knight commander complaining about battling with tons of monster paper work makes me giggle.

“ I know that is a joke, but still don’t be overworked “

“ Of course, you don’t have to worry those monster aren’t my favorite anyway. Then i’m going to change my clothes and heading over to father “

I warned him to not be overworked but it seems he really hate paper work

“ Well Alvin, Alice, Nexan you heard it right ? i’ll be going for a while be a good kids and don’t bring too much trouble “

What does he mean by too much ?

“ Yes, bye father “

“ Bye father “

“ Good bye fa--   Good bye uncle Jullius “

Ah.. he did it again, he almost called Jullius by ‘father’.

“ I’ll be going then “

With a smile he gently stroke the three’s heads and leave.

It remind me when Nexan said his first word, it was a beautiful memory yet at the same time it was painful.

His first words is ‘mother’, he said ‘mother’ to me. It was painful for me to teach such innocent child to not call me by ‘mother’ but by ‘aunt’.

I promised father that i won’t raise Nexan under a big lie, and so i asked father to let him call me by ‘mother’ and let him belive that i am his mother even if it was just for a while until he can understand the whole things. But still father didn’t allowed me.

“ Nexan, Nexan, want to see another magic trick ?  Alvin let me borrow your wooden sword “

I see she try to make the mood become better with showing some magic, clever girl.

she grabed the wooden sword with her both hand and then blue light covering the wooden sword, wait is that....

“ whoahh Alice that’s awesome ! “

“ That’s awesome “

Alvin shouted in excitement followed by Nexan who tried to imitated him.

“ Isn’t it ? here Alvin try to swing it “

Alvin swing the sword, it leaves after images every times he swings the sword.

“ it’s so coll , i feel like a famous warrior with magic sword “

Ah that’s remind me.

“ Alice did you just used an enchantment magic ? “

“ It’s not enchantment magic, i just used the same method as to make a [light ball] “

As she explaining to me she take another wooden sword that Jullius used earlier to demonstrate it.

“ I pour mana into the sword then start manifesting the magic like just like the [light ball] and then..... there the sword glow in blue and after three minutes the glow will disapear “  

I see you can do it like that, i’m never though about such method. As expected of my daughter.

“ Alice Alice, give me the sword “

“ Here you go Nex “

She gives the sword to Nexan, who is now facing Alvin as if he challenges him.

“ No, Nexan you can get injured “

“ Ahaha.. it’s okay mother, we are just playing “

 Sigh.. i guess it will be okay to let them have some fun, they are children after all.

“ So Nexan Draunlass you came here from a long jurney to challenges this great me, Alvin Boltin “

“ I will beat Alvin “

“ I see you have firmed your heart, so come at me Nexan “

“ Uwahhhhhhhhhhhh “

Nexan began to hit Alvin with the wooden sword and Alvin blocked it, he hit him again but Alvin didn’t block it this time he purposely take the hit and pretended to get hurt.

“ Ughhh to think that you this strong,, but i will not lose you know “

Alvin hit Nexan’s wooden sword without strength in it, then they continue exchanging blows at each other and the swords glow beautifully as they did it.

“ ahahaha, children they are so cute“

Yes, seeing how Alvin and Nexan playing looks so cute they.... wait Alice you are also a child you know.
