Chapter 5

First Person POV (Kaint):

Well I cannot keep moping the whole day, at least my host probably will not be dying anytime soon. I decided to checkout how custom skills work. I tried to make a mental skill for unarmed combat, after all my host was pretty bad at fighting. I mean seriously tripping in the middle of a battle? At least now we know how sharp his claws are. A custom skill can also involve merging other skills, so I spent some time looking for skills that would help in a fight. I found Red Tier Spatial Awareness (10 Points), Red Tier Muscle Coordination (15 Points), Full Body Strikes: Make Attacking With Full Body Weight Instinct (80 Points), Red Tier Force Redirection (15 Points) and Red Tier Flexibility (20 Points), while I could not actually afford them, I tried simulating a skill by combining them with Red Tier Reflexes, Orange Tier Claws, Red Tier Recovery Speed, Orange Tier Flesh, Red Tier Body Durability, Red Tier Muscle Strength, Red Tier Body Durability, Red Tier Stamina, Orange Tier Flesh (Shock-Absorbent), basically all my other skills. Also when including skills in a custom skill, it does not actually consume them, same for merging black and gold tier skills. I tried steering it in my desired image the end result was landslide success. Literally.

Red Tier Landslide Art: Overwhelm Your Foes Claw Strikes, Elbows, Knee Strikes, Trips, Pulls And Pushes, While Angling Your Body To Reduce Damage Taken While Increasing Damage Dealt. (100 Points). The thing about mental skills is that they can be improved. While physical skills are stronger, they also tend to be more rigid in growth. Of course some of them can also be improved like exercising to improve muscle strength, but how does one increase claw strength? Skills were more flexible as they can grow stronger with use and even create specialised variant skills like a punching skill becoming focused on light and fast punches. So it was often better to get a low tier skill and improve it to suit yourself. Of course what I said was what I heard from Mr Messages after I asked him. The total cost of this skill and all the missing essentials is 240 Points. I decided to save up for the Daily Point Increase and buy it 4 times before buying Murder Points and then finally buying this skill. That will be my short term goals for now.

First Person POV (Impar):

Water at last! It only took me 3 hours to find a water source. I also killed 2 more bone ursas, 4 lupi (wolves), and quite a lot of what Kaint called “birds”. According to Kaint the one who has been creating these bone monsters is likely to be around here, because living things need water. I spent some time wandering around in search of the “necromancer”, as Kaint calls it. I stumbled upon a cave that led to a large cavern filled with hundreds of bone beasts, so I panicked and ran back. Three bone beasts followed me. Once I ran roughly 50m from the cave, the bone beasts stopped following me. I attacked the nearest bone beast, but it ignored me and continued to move back to the cave. I managed to destroy all three bone beasts just before the last one returned back to the cave. I repeated this process over and over again until all the bone beasts were dead. I would have serious trouble dealing with so many bone beasts if they were not so stupid.

I advanced further through the caves until I reached a wide open cavern. There was a bone creature, wait no it’s just normal bones. It was 5 times my height, standing at 10m tall, but the strangest part was that it had a black orb in its chest. I nearly missed it because the bones were pitch black like the orb except that the orb had a shimmer to it like metal. There’s a strange man sleeping in front of the orb. The man has his eyes closed but is sitting down instead of lying down. “Meditating. The man is meditating,” Kaint commented. He seems to be the creator of those bone beasts because he is sitting on a pile of bones 6m tall, allowing him to touch the orb with his hands. The man has brown skin instead of gray, but it was a lighter shade. His hair was short and black but compared to the somehow even blacker- “Skeleton. I can’t believe you do not have a word for the bones in a body,” Kaint remarked. “We just never had the need to talk about bones so much,” I replied. The man was creating all these bone beasts, it could be dangerous if he made enough to form a tribe, he could kill me. So I quietly snuck behind him, climbed up his pile of bones, and sliced off his head with my claws. “Well that was easy,” I remarked.

First Blood Achieved! (50 Points), Undead Bane 1 Achieved! (100 points), Traitor 1 Achieved! (100 Points). A rapid succession of messages popped up. Kaint quickly explained to me about achievements and points, which made me realise that I did not actually know much about the system and Kaint, but I would deal with that another time. I quickly left the huge black skeleton behind as being around it gave me a bad feeling. Now that things here was finished, I decided to leave the forest in search of food.

First POV (Kaint):

What the actual fuck. First was how Impar tripped and discovered that his claws were overpowered. Secondly, there was the loophole Impar used to kill the undead beasts, probably the necromancer ordered the skeletons to attack nearby living things, but not travel more than 50m away from the cave. Next there was the fact that the necromancer had his guard down and was meditating in front of that black skeleton. Additionally, the man was from Earth, and killing him gave me 250 Points, which I then used to buy the Murder Points upgrade. I should save up for Daily Point Increase and buy it 4 times, before getting Red Tier Landslide Art. How could someone’s luck be so good? It was damn near protagonist levels. I would not be surprised if the clan chief’s daughter ended up falling in love with him. I mean she is quite the looker and her body seems to be developing well, she is also likely to become a strong mage. One more thing, the way Impar just so happened to rape her when she was fertile. His luck is truly bullshit. Why did I not have this kind of luck myself? His backstory is filled with all sorts of flags as well. He was not originally a utterrae clansmen, but was instead adopted and taken in by the clan chief, which was how he managed to get close to clan chief’s daughter and rape her. He also obtained me, the system. He might actually be some sort of protagonist, now I just need beautiful and strong girls to start appearing in swarms and have “incidents” with Impar to know whether he truly is a protagonist.
