Sawney
Blood. Days had gone by and the biggest smell that filled the streets of downtown New York City was blood. There were monsters out there alright. Not the things mentioned in the weird notifications, no, those monsters had not yet shown up. At least not in the numbers that had been promised. Instead, the world was filled with the monsters in human skin. The evilest and most vile people from the world before turned loose.
Sawney walked, wearing a heavy black hoodie. She knew that the world was filled with people that deserved justice, and people that deserved to die. She was willing to promise that justice, no matter what the issues that might arrive would be. She was willing to deliver justice at the edge of a knife. And her quests agreed with her, having given her task that was
> Quest Offered!
>
> Quest: Slaying the Slavers
>
> Description: Kill those who dserve it on the streets, those who deserve justice.
>
> Progress 7/13
Sometimes Sawney wondered what it was that made her quests. Was it her personality, because she didn’t know what it said about her that they got a quest like this. To kill… All she had to do was kill and make a target pay for their crimes. She could do that, more than easily, but what did it say about her brain that they could.
A scream was called through the dark alleys of the projects. These were the tough parts of town before the end of the world, now it was only exaggerated. Sawney knew that this was just the next step in solving and finishing her quest. She ignored the blood that dripped down her arms, something was wrong with her she was sure of it, but it was so refreshing to bathe in the blood of such… bad bad people.
Sawney’s knife was something she grabbed off hand, but it had become almost a friend to her. Even though it was chipping and breaking, she still carried it with her as she turned into the alleyway and found a scene that was all too familiar in the most orible way.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Hey baby, I’m just trying to get some during the end of the world. Isn’t that a noble cause?” The man was oddly handsome, the kind of handsome that was done for rich fucks who could afford the touch ups, not the kind of natural attractiveness found in people who wern’t fake. His hair was slicked back, but he already had his belt apart and was fiddling with his pants.
“No you fuck, I need to go home!” The woman yelled. She was in the corner, and there was something odd about her. She wasn’t being held in a traditional way, instead there were black chains that were wrapped around each of her limbs and holding her fast to the wall. She couldn’t move, no mater how hard she struggled.
It was another one, this bastard was just like all the others, taking advantage of his new power without even thinking about possible consequences. Sawney grinned as she walked in, scrapping her knife against the wall. It made a harsh chalkboard like sound, making the man turned around, holding his pants up as he stared her down.
“Ah, another bitch.” He said, grinning. “I didn’t realize you’d serve yourself up to me so easily. I’ll get to you next.” What he didn’t seem to notice was that his victim had already started to climb away. When his attention was broken the chains disappeared, and she seemed ot be able to walk up the wall fairly easily.
“Nope, I’m hear to serve you up.” Sawney said, moving forward and slamming her knife into his arm. She felt as his chains grabbed him, but since she surprised him seh managed to get theknife in good. She twisted, and as she did the chains disappeared, his concentration already roken within seconds. “I think I’ll serve you up sushi style, bloody raw!” She said, an odd glee filling her heart and eyes as she looked into his.
“Hey you crazy fuck, I’m not sure what you think your doing but I have friends in high places!” He said, staring into her eyes. “This new world is a place where power means power and we don’t have to bow to useless cunts like you. So just shut up and get your stupid feminist bullshit out of here.”
Sawney began to laugh. “Feminism? You think that's my goal here? No, this is a world where men and women are evenly matched. There’s no need for feminism, because only in deeply seeded societies do prejudices exist. We can’t solve that shit, but you need to get it through your thick skull that you can’t use your power to beat people, because someone else always has more.” She tapped the still bloody blade to her chin. “You know what, I suppose I can get it through your head for you.” And with those words she slammed the knife into his eyeball and thrust it right into his brain.
That wasn’t a killing blow, especially not with the kind of magic that kept people alive now, she’d seen people come back from far worse in the last few days. However, it was enough to disable the man as she began to work. She would send a message, no matter how gruesome it got.

The next day the corpse was found. It wasn’t in one piece, or even a hundred, but instead in thousands. This man was but one of several cases in lower Manhattan, hiding from government control and needing to be taken out.
“I don’t know if I can solve this.” Richard said, smoking a cigar. He was the detective on the case, and the NYPD really needed it’s remaining officers to step up. “I mean, I know I’m the only one on the job, but magic isn’t my thing… not yet.”
“Listen bub, As long as this killer is out there we won’t stop finding the bodies. Hell, we’ll probably still find parts of them for months… who’s to say.” The chief looked like he hadn’t slept in days, and he probably hadn’t. “All I need is for you to try, Dick, okay?”
“Yes chief, I’ll try.”
