CHAPTER 10 : A Celestial Kiss

Back to the celestial realm :

As the celestial banquet unfolded, Fate found herself increasingly out of her element in the heavenly palace. The rigid customs and ethereal protocols made her yearn for the simpler days of mortal life.

Servant: "My name is Lisa. I'll be Your Highness's maidservant in the future. Please instruct me if you need anything done."

Fate: "Thank you, Lisa. Actually, I need you to follow me."

Fate and Lisa made their way straight to the portal where Fate could leave the heavenly realm. However, their path was intercepted by a stern-looking general tasked with sealing the portal.

Fate: "Hello, General. I've long heard about the formidable nature of the heavenly palace. Could you let us pass so we can admire it?"

General: "I'm sorry, Princess, but you cannot leave before the banquet."

Fate: (chuckling) "Oh, please. Don't be so strict. I promise I'll be back before the banquet starts. And I might even share some of my special powder with you, which could help with your cultivation."

General: (firmly) "Princess, please return."

Fate: "Oh, no need to be so harsh! I'll go back, but could you please pass a message to my father for me ? If you do, I'll share some of my powder with you. What do you say?"

General: "Princess, please return."

Fate: (whispering to herself) "Seriously, what did I get myself into? I miss the days when my biggest concern was dealing with those bullies back home."

Despite the setback, Fate managed to compose herself and attend the banquet on time, looking stunning as ever. As the celestial delicacies were presented before her, Fate tentatively nibbled on the illusions conjured by celestial magic.

Fate: (grimacing) "Well, they certainly look impressive, but they're missing something... Ah, yes, flavor! Nothing compares to a good bowl of noodles. I'm sorry, it's like drinking water. How do you immortals survive on this stuff?"

Lisa : Your Highness, you may not know, but this is top-quality food. The queen sent her men specially to the northern palace to collect such food.

It's much more precious than the heavenly usual food .

Fate : Oh really but We're just drinking some water i mean some good quality water , aren't we? Won't you guys starve to death?

The prince, who had been engaged in polite conversation with a nearby deity, suddenly stopped himself from laughing. His eyes twinkled with suppressed amusement, and his lips curled into a barely concealed smile.

Sensing Fate's discomfort, the Heavenly Emperor and Empress exchanged worried glances, their attempts to make her feel at home falling as flat as the flavorless food.

Heavenly Empress: "Is everything to your liking, Princess ? You seem... less than enthused."

Heavenly Empress: "Is everything alright, Princess ? You seem a bit... unsettled."

Fate: (forcing a smile) "Oh, yes, Your Majesty. I'm just adjusting to the... unique flavors of the celestial realm."

Meanwhile, the prince observed Fate from a distance, his gaze filled with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.

Prince: (to himself) "There's something different about her. She seems... troubled."

Though Fate's presence intrigued him, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at his conscience, a sense of foreboding lingering in the air.

As the banquet drew to a close, Fate's longing for the Mortal Realm for her sister reached its peak, her desire to return home and to find her sister overshadowed any sense of obligation to her new surroundings.

Fate: (excusing herself) "If you'll excuse me, Your Majesties, I'm feeling a bit... fatigued. I think I'll retire for the evening."

After leaving the banquet, Fate retreated to her chambers, craving the solace of familiar surroundings. She grabbed a large jar of wine and plopped into her bed.Suddenly thinking about her sister she ventured out of her room and into the winding corridors of the celestial palace.

As Fate wandered around the celestial palace, feeling a bit tipsy from the wine, she somehow ended up at the hall where the prince often worked late. She pushed open the doors and saw the prince sitting at his desk, surrounded by candles and papers.

The prince looked surprised to see her. "Princess Fate," he said, sounding curious and worried, "what brings you here?"

Fate smiled awkwardly. "Um, I'm not really sure," she admitted, her words a bit slurred from the wine.

Even though she didn't have a good reason, Fate felt strangely drawn to the prince. She took a few wobbly steps closer to his desk, unable to tear her eyes away from him.

As she got closer, Fate's heart started racing, and she impulsively reached out and touched the prince's arm. She felt a jolt of electricity at the contact.

The prince looked at her with surprise and concern, trying to figure out what was going on.

As Fate's wine-induced boldness grew, she felt a sudden urge she couldn't resist. Without hesitation, she leaned closer to the prince, their breaths mingling in the small space between them.

The prince's eyes widened in surprise, clearly caught off guard by Fate's unexpected move. His breath hitched as he grappled with a whirlwind of emotions, unsure how to react to her sudden closeness.

For a moment, it was as if the world around them faded into nothingness, leaving only the two of them locked in a moment charged with unspoken longing. Fate's heart raced as she closed the gap between them, her lips brushing against the prince's in a gentle, tentative kiss.

In that suspended moment, time seemed to freeze, enveloping them in a haze of magic and desire. Fate felt a connection like never before, an irresistible pull drawing her closer to the prince.

But just as quickly as it began, the kiss ended, leaving Fate breathless and trembling with a mix of excitement and nerves. She pulled away, cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she met the prince's gaze.
