Chapter 35 Electromadon of Titania

Chapter 35 Electromadon of Titania

“The lightning coming from its body freezes the waters it touches into ice ,” Jack observed the white jagged solid formations that appeared on the water immediately it came into contact with the lightning emanating from the gothic Electromadon’s body.

Standing at 10 feet tall , the Electromadon was not the ideal creature you’d want to see walking over to your ship. It had a body that was so goreish it was meant for the underworld. Easily ,it made the Dreadghost and Soul Reaper look like pageant queens with its unsightly form that appeared to be a tri-breed of rock , flesh and metal.

Its head , an abhorrent mass festered with coral and rust, had a face with only two round perforations across its oddly smooth surface. The two cracked peepholes repeatedly flashed with spurts of static energy, sometimes absorbing the lightning that shot out of its body surface.

Its torso was magnetically held in place to its legs by the static pull it generated , an adaptation that Jack deduced was meant for compensating for the massive sails across its back and behind each of its elbows. And of course , it had claws double the size of a Wailing Hound , made of pure rusted iron. They served as its lightning arrestors , trailing the excess of its static discharge into the sea.

Seafang drew out his sword , and Jack gave him an empty look wondering what he thought he could do with it.

“ Men , a chance to etch our names in history , as the brave warriors who gave life to the dead zone of the southern sea ! ,” he shouted, raising the sword and getting everyone's attention.

Under the monochrome of black and white , the thuggish pirate crew looked like undead souls haunting the ship . The lightning and violently splashing waves did not make their appearance any better.

“We have a head start , so there is a chance of making it to land if we move quickly ,” Allan did not like the idea of engaging the creature .

“ I agree , the engines can still take in more coal . Let’s add more and increase the ship’s speed,” Nathaniel , who had just come from a magma fight, supported his leader.

Once the fight broke out with the Electromadon, the ship ran the risk of capsizing and with it any chances of anyone making it out alive.

Seafang ignored them ,

“ We are pirates of the Southern Sea , not children who’ve just been weaned. My ship has canons , and they will not sit idle today.

Get to work all of ya , load the barrels ! Get the powder ! line your sights ! This is a day of fireworks , where the living shall fuck the dead . Separate yourselves from fear , and only think of the riches we will gain from the trophy before us ! This is the day we tame the beast and claim the seas of the dead !”

The crew was still hesitant. Yes they were loyal to their captain and feared his wrath , but it paled in comparison to the Electromadon.

Seafang smirked , disappointed by their cowardice.

With his sword in hand , he walked towards the centre of the deck , the flashes of lightning in the dark skies and water getting deadlier with each step the monster took towards them.

The sword that Seafang carried magically lit up with fire along its curved blade.

“ When I say tame the fucking beast , I MEAN TAME THE FUCKING BEAST !”

He slammed the sword into the wooden floor of the deck and immediately four lines of coloured orange fire rushed forth , spreading out in the four cardinal points of the compass. When they reached the four corners of the ship , the flames rose high into the sky .

The light they gave out partially returned colour around the ship , but the rest of the sea remained a bleak black and white. The little scene had also afforded the Elecromadon time to get within striking distance of the ship.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“ So this vessel is magical as well ,” Jack was surprised, watching how that light show had brought morale back to the crew and they were now racing across the deck arming themselves for war.

“They’re pirates , and Beast Folk for that matter. It would not shock me to find out that each one of them has a mermaid wife under the sea ,” Allan watched them with dismay .

“ They are all going to die , they should have listened to us ,” Nathaniel cursed , angry at the pirates for dragging him into another war.

“Aiko suggests that beasts don’t have a good head. They should have run away and let the Bossman defeat the monster. Now they will die and the Bossman will defeat the monster ,”

Nathaniel was about to latch out against this but was stopped when a towering trail of lightning shot from the Electromadon’s right arm and rolled up towards the ship , blowing up the area of the deck where he had been standing.

Jack immediately pulled Aiko into his soul to protect her from the sparks and the ensuing explosion, as he himself used his superior speed to duck for cover.

Nathaniel , who was both young and agile , was able to escape and quickly put up a protective shield just as he had done when fighting the Nameless Death.

Allan on the other hand , was older and already injured from the previous fight.

He was able to escape the shrapnell but the quick forming ice that followed the lightning and the splashing waves got to him. His left arm was wholly frozen solid and in the chaos , shattered into a million fragments.

“AARGH!” he groaned in agony as he put up a protective shield around his body like Nathaniel. Unfortunately for him , the damage was already done , all that the shield could do was to stop the bleeding.

Seafang on seeing this ,gave the signal for the first five cannons to be fired.

The screaming balls of fire took to the sky , striking the Electromadon with deadly precision. It tanked the first two before the third one hit its head .

The attack briefly disrupted the lightning flow around it , and the sea stuttered with a few glimpses of colour before going back to normal.

“ It's trying to protect itself !” one of the crew members pointed at the building tide swirling around the Electromadon . The rising whirling mass of water was also starting to develop streaks of ice as lightning permeated and conducted through it.

“ JUST FUCKING FIRE MORE CANONS!” Seafang did not want to lose the advantage he’d just gained.

He swiftly marched to where Jack stood watching the fight and aimed his still flaming sword at the monster.

Ten cannons were fired , but were unable to penetrate the wall . Now with a defence against the ship’s fire power , the Electromadon resumed its march towards the ship.

As it drew closer , the arcs of lightning it dissipated got under the waters around the ship , freezing them over.

“ Shit ! This will ground the vessel ,” Seafang cursed as the ship shook violently after crashing into one of the building ice formations.

Jack took a deep breath and stretched out his right hand. With his pointing and ring fingers poised at the Electromadon’s wall , he unleashed his most powerful talent yet , point blank.

“ Singularity ,”

Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched as the blast of cosmic energy lit up everything around them to the point of blindness. It then rushed forth and struck a clear path through the Electromadon’s defensive wall and even sent the monster and all the expansive ice around it rolling a few metres back.

“ FIRE THE CANNONS NOW !” Seafang jumped onto the opening.

Jack observed the state of the Electromadon as it got back to its feet , the sea around it already crystallising back to white ice against the black waters.

“ Singularity didn’t even create a dent ,” he noted , something he had been expecting.

More cannons attacked the Electromadon , causing it to lose its footing . This was only for a slight moment, but it was enough to throw the monster into a mad rage , sending out major waves of lightning all around it.

All around the ship , anything wet started crystallising with ice , including the very crew men who did not possess a magical ability to counter it.

A few tough ones like Seafang used their flames to thaw themselves free while Jack used Flowing Paradise to mitigate the effect. Alan and Nathaniel were saved by the shields around their bodies.

“ I can’t hold on any longer ,” Nathaniel cried , forced to push his shield to its maximum . It was taking a great toll on his manna and he risked collapsing at any time.

By the time the monster was done sending out the power surge , everything around the ship had completely frozen over , leaving the vessel grounded on a floating plane of ice with jagged spire formations rising from its surface.
