Singularity.
The tomb was a brick earthen cuboid whose lid lay at the corner , shattered in half. At that same corner was a small but deep pool of lava , the source of the great downpour of magma that had occurred when the seal was opened.
While inside the tomb, Jack could feel an oppressive force lingering about within. Though intangible , it affected him momentarily , dosing him up with copious amounts of rage and blood thirst.
His head had just started spinning when the trance wore off as the Nameless came crashing its way through the walls of the tomb , its hands going for Jack. Saved by a collaboration of his Patterns talent and his enhanced speed attribute , he was able to leap out of harm's way this time.
The levels of sulphur dioxide were insanely higher in this room than they had at the tunnels. There also seemed to be a nauseating property lingering in the air that started dulling Jack’s senses. It carried the same aura that had been inside the Tomb.
The Nameless too was affected , dropping its sword and falling to a knee.
“Falling Blossoms !” Jack tried to reduce the nausea , putting himself in a better off condition than the Nameless.
“That tomb is causing all of this ,” he confirmed with Perception.
If it were any other time he’d have liked to confer with Aiko regarding it , but at the moment he had to seize the opportunity granted to him to end the fight . Truth be told , he no longer even felt like the Nameless was his opponent anymore. It was a weird feeling he couldn't quite place a pin on.
With the pool of lava at the corner starting bubbling up and getting ready to once again fill the entire room with the magma , Jack steadied his arm like he’d seen Hamilton do before in summoning the ‘Raging Furnace ‘ .
Singularity was an attack similar to Raging Furnace , only that it dispelled pure cosmic energy instead of fire. To unleash it , Jack had to wait for it to draw in enough energy from the surroundings.
The trade in for this process was that the attack could deal powerful damage while still consuming as little stamina as possible. The cool down was twenty minutes , which was unbelievable considering what it offered.
“Singularity ,” he let the words roll out after seven seconds of letting it build up.
That would give the attack the minimum amount of energy required to fire its cosmic beam. If he didn’t fear the Nameless suddenly getting up and walking out of range , Jack could have probably waited for another five more seconds .
When it had been setting up , it had acted like a miniature wormhole , drawing in energy till its core turned into a blinding white light. When Jack released it , the whole place was lit up to the point of blindness .
Allan , one of the only few survivors of the Beast folk , covered his eyes but still felt its effects pass through the membranes of his eye lids.
When the light dissipated , the true impact of Singularity was demonstrated. The Nameless had lost its upper body , drilled in an upwards sloping trajectory that had gone further to tear a gaping hole through the walls of the mines that went all the way to the outside.
“Not even Aiko expected that ,” the girl expressed her marvel at the potency of the talent , “ No wonder it took so long to install.” She also sounded a bit tipsy. Odd.

With the Nameless dead , Jack felt the weakness placed on his chest disappear. The black sword wielded by the Nameless Death disintegrated to dust and was swiftly followed by the remaining portion of the Nameless’ armour.

Not even bothering with the residual dust of the monster left on the ground nor the newly acquired enhancements , Jack walked straight for the broken tomb at the centre. Whatever the feeling that it carried was , he was sure that it had tried messing with his soul.
Aiko jumped out of him and was a little dizzy before she sobered up.
“ Aiko’s head was spinning like a ball . Bossman , Aiko is getting worried that she has accumulated too much knowledge and her head is getting heavy for her ,” she joined him in examining the engravings on the inner walls of the tomb.
“ I couldn’t have noticed any of this when I was fighting the Nameless. Aiko , can you translate these symbols ?”
“This is beyond even Aiko Bossman. But Aiko thinks it is trying to depict the great war of Titania, the homeworld of the Titans. Aiko thinks this is what caused a curse to be placed on the Titan race ,”
“ A curse ? What are you talking about ?” That was the first Jack was hearing about this.
“ The big bad curse. It is said that one of the early Titans was so angry with how the Titans kept on conquering worlds that she cursed all of their future generations. The curse greatly reduced the number of Titans that could ascend and become mature celestials ,” Aiko kept feeding him more Greek.
Jack scratched his head , unsure of which side to start asking questions from. Then there was this tomb , which Jack was sure was linked to something more than just the Titans.
“ One of the many tombs of Gurath , I’m surprised you noticed it ,” Allan walked in , supported by Nathaniel.
“ You already claimed our hunt , you thief !” Nathaniel screamed even before Jack could proceed with the pleasantries of hello. The man was referring to the Nameless , shooting a bitter look at the pile of dust that represented all that remained of the Suit of Armour.
“ The beast fucker dares to talk to Bossman like that , especially in front of Aiko ?” the butler met Nathaniel’s spiteful glare. It surprised both Jack and Allan , Jack more so because this was an all time high in Aiko’s list of most dished out disrespect.
“ The fuck did you say to me little girl?” Nathaniel twitched a nerve.
“ Aiko sees no need of repeating herself ,”
“Take your fucking words back before I cut out your throat , you blue bitch !”
Jack was kind of willing to let the tussle drag on out as long as nothing got physical. It was after all good entertainment to see Aiko finally meeting her match. She had been running her mouth without regulation all along against Hamilton , Carol and even Nevya who was too submissive to defend herself.
“ Beast fucker , Aiko is thinking about making you eat your own hair. She wants to start with the carpet on your face.”
To Jack , her comeback may have sounded weak and pathetic. But he wasn’t her target audience.
One of the few things that male Beast folk took most pride in was the short mane that grew about their face when they reached adulthood. It was a rite of passage and a symbol that carried great respect in their society. To put it simply , Aiko had just body shamed the man by mocking the appearance of his manhood.
“That’s enough !” Allan got offended .
Nathaniel retreated , his pride badly battered. Aiko was unremorseful as always , crossing her arms and puffing her face with arrogance.
“That’s enough Aiko, let the man be ,” Jack was casual , wondering what had gotten the older man’s feathers in a bunch.
“But Bossman , he was just about to cry ,” Aiko’s eyes were locked on for blood. She just didn’t relate to holding back when she clearly had the upper hand.
